What am I doing?

Was a thought that kept popping up in Charlie’s head over and over as she bought a plane ticket to New York. It popped up when she lied to her Professor that she had a family emergency. Popped up again when she lied to her mother about having too many finals and projects to complete and most likely won’t be able to be able to visit as often.

I’m not 18 anymore. I’m an adult, I could’ve told her the truth. Thought Charlie as she was packing her bags for her flight. In reality, she knew why, her mother was a scary person when angry and she rather not listens to the lectures and the scolding because what almost 25 year old wanted that.

As her flight came and landed and she boarded off, grabbing her bags, catching a taxi to her hotel. Once again her original thought popped in her head as she walk the streets of the Bronx.

Just what was she doing.

Looking for Bumblebee.

That was what she was doing.

Charlie was older, an adult who was making her way in life. Had more freedom and to see her friend again..

She scouted the newspapers when talks about a car suddenly splitting into many, destruction at a museum; they were all Cypertronian activities and she knew Cypertronian activities when she heard one after dealing with it herself. It also helped when Agent Burns had visited her one day and asked if she been in contact with Bumblebee.

So now here she was, wondering Bronx, looking for any clues, anything that screamed Autobot. As she walked down the bustling sidewalk, Charlie stopped before backpedaling as she spotted rusting, mismatch paint job Porsche. Looking around for anyone nearby, the brunette made her way to the car, walking around it as she examined the rust and old paint job.

“Geez buddy. You look like you’ve seen better days.” Charlie murmurs before peeking through the windows to check out the interior inside. “Least your insides look good. Just need a good deep wash, probably have to pull out the seats to get under them. Definitely lots of hand scrubbing.” She pulls back and moves to the front of the hood. “Let see just how bad your engine maybe.” She’ll probably leave her number for whoever this Porsche belonged too, just to help them out.

Charlie was always a sucker for cleaning up vehicles. There was something when you put them back together and have it all spruced up and shiny that left her feeling accomplished and in a good mood.

“It almost feels like a crime to be washing a Cadillac in my driveway like this.” Charlie jokes as she uses the soaked soapy sponge to swipe across Adriana’s hood as she gave the femmebot a scrub down.

The young mechanic was always happy to see the other Autobot whenever she came into town to visit. Unlike Bumblebee, it seem Adriana had more leeway or she was just more sneaky about coming to see her. Either way, Charlie appreciated it as the femmebot was her only source of news of how Bee was doing these days, not to say she didn’t enjoy the Adriana’s company too.

“Couldn’t you show up with something less.. conspicuous?” Laughs Charlie. Last thing she needed was the neighbors being nosy as too while there was a Cadillac in front of the Watson’s house.
