the night was still new , and moonsoo had just transitioned from the light hearted scene that the carnival provided to the moody environment of the club. he questioned if it were in his best judgment to show up here , considering he did still have things to do the following morning that did not mix well with a splitting hangover headache. although he had cleared most things from his schedule as a precaution , there were some things that could not be moved ( namely ; the couple of meetings he had scheduled near the evening ) and those things were still very much expecting his full , undivided attention.
he was being reckless , which seemed to be more of a common occurrence lately despite his insistence on order within his life. his mind was preoccupied with the woman which he had lost , and his inability to reconnect with someone he cared for so dearly. it was his fault things decayed the way they had , and this fact remained in his mind through every moment of he day — slowly threatening to suffocate him. it made it more difficult for him to be focused and make the right decisions. self sabotage became his guilty pleasure , and in this moment he was ready to indulge.
as moon made his way into the club , his eyes surveyed the lively group within. diverse groups of people mingled and conversed , trading smiles for drinks and favors. a jolt of excitement moved through him once his eyes landed on a familiar face — jaejin. the memories of the two flooded his consciousness , all of which were positive and undoubtedly the kind of memories that would get him into trouble. just what he needed. quickly , he made his way towards the man standing a little distance away. “ i didn’t expect to see you here. ” his tone was formal , something he didn’t use often with jaejin , but he wanted to insinuate a sort of separation between the two in case someone were listening. “ can i get you a drink ? ”
red. the color still taints his vision, anger radiating off his lean frame helping to make him seem all the more like his character for the evening. the model has yet to master the art of letting go, so his argument with jay has almost set him over the edge. to help counteract the feeling, jaejin makes a beeline for the bar, asking for a double of whatever the bartender suggests is the strongest thing from the top shelf ( if he’s going to drown his sorrows, he should do so with something worthwhile ). he one shots the drink, quickly asking for another and another until the warmth slowly begins to find its way back.
tomorrow is going to be hell ------ at least i have the day to myself. it’s not the best idea, allowing himself to drink his way through things ; he can hear his therapist now, scolding him and his decisions, but instead of setting him straight, that only pushes him further into the bottle. before long, he’s five drinks in and seeming a lot like his dad --- wait, what ? --- the realisation dawns on him before his logical side catches up.
however, he’s unable to dwell thanks to moonsoo’s ( very welcomed ) interruption. he notices the difference in greeting, or thinks he does, but rather than commenting on it, he chalks it up to the booze. ❝ where else would i be, silly ? ❞ he responds, ❝ i didn’t expect you here, though. figured you’d be studying or doing something school related. or maybe you’d feel you were too good for a party like this. ❞ a playful grin paints plump lips as he nods in acceptance of the offer, not that he needs anymore, but what the hell, right ? ❝ anyway, you havin’ fun ? found anyone you might wanna talk home later tonight ? because if not .. ❞ he leans in close, pairing his next words with a sly wink, ❝ i’m available. ❞
