I love receiving letters,
but I think this boy will be the death of me.
Does he write to you too often and sound pressing and rude?
For a number of reasons, my lady. Namely because of what my father did. But he has been dead for some time now, and I’d rather not dwindle on his past mistakes for much longer.
Well, if you don’t want to think of it, I won’t ask. I hope you’re not feeling helpless about it anymore, though?
princess-dany:
It’s an ancestral Valyrian sword that once belonged to Visenya Targaryen, it was lost for many years but I found it some years ago hidden deep within the secret passages of the Red Keep.
Oh, that sounds quite interesting. Do you know how to use it? I once tried to swing my father’s sword, though it isn’t Valyrian. I’m no good.
spearsandsuns:
The wife of uncle Oberyn and his children are always welcome. Your brother as well. I’m sure Arianne feels the same way. We meet much to often. It seems most of the Martells are either scattered throughout Westeros or dead. The Tor lies only half a days travel from Sunspear. If you do come by, I will make sure to be there and greet you, Jo.
It’s so odd to think of Aunt Cersei as Uncle Oberyn’s wife, even though I know she is. Was. Oh, only half a day’s ride? That’s wonderful. Could you bring Mellario, or is she too busy?
I know what it’s like to feel helpless. I know I can’t offer much, but knowing that I can at least help you in a small way, is reassuring to hear.
Why did you feel helpless?
spearsandsuns:
Perhaps our family just isn’t people for the capital. I know uncle Oberyn hated it as well. You should come to Dorne soon, however. You are a princess here after all. I was there for a few years yes. All that matters is that I am home now.
That is what I’ve heard as well. Oh, I would love to! I should bring Aunt Cersei and my cousins with me. Though we’ll likely go to Sunspear... the Tor isn’t very far from there, is it?
It’s been an age since put Dark Sister to use, a true shame. I wonder if I’ll remember all I’ve learned…
What is Dark Sister?
rose-of-three-towers:
“Very nearly, but not quite.”
You’ve quite made me wish I had a rabbit of my own. I’ve never had a pet before. Where did you find yours?
Hmm, alright, I’ll stop asking about it now. I’m just glad I was able to offer my assistance to you, my lady.
Of course. Though I must ask, why are you so eager to help? Most people run the other way hearing the word.
oftyrlannister:
I do, but I also don’t get flooded with “Congratulation” letters like you do.
That’s only because you’re lucky enough not to be betrothed yet.
thearianne-martell:
It probably is. I’m not eager to make sure.
I don’t want to imagine.
“Simply don’t read them then… no harm shall come from that, surely?”
Perhaps that is what I’ll do. It will be wonderful to be rid of the constant reminders that I’m betrothed.
Have you ever been to King’s Landing, dear cousin? It’s not all that nice of a city, but I see where you’re coming from. I’m not sure what I miss.. Maybe just the feel of it.
Oh, I have. Just once, and not for very long, but it was enough to put me off the place forever. Perhaps it’s just because of how long you were there. It was three years, wasn’t it?
I will visit. As soon as I can, perhaps next month. The maesters still want me to rest and not travel.
Oh, of course! I can imagine it would be painful to travel right now, to say the least.
Why even read them then, Jo?
Well, they’re for me. Don’t you read your letters?
Yes, she is. He seems to be excited. He isn’t the youngest one anymore. Though I am not sure exactly how much he understands. He’s not that much older himself.
I’ve never met him, but he sounds very sweet. Seeing as I’m going to be married any day now, perhaps you should visit with them!
