They made the mistake of being outside too long -- too much sun without protection like a hat was bad news. At least it was only heat exhaustion getting Kina down and not heat stroke. They just laid under some shade, lamenting their life choices.

keith, out of curiosity, reaches up to pet eevee where he suspects they like to be petted. its fur–softer than velvet–feels amazing under his fingertips. he peers up at the woman, someone who keith admires. her performance thus far is–very impressive. as are her pokemon and her bond with them. he can feel how deep their connections are.

❝ your eevee is a real beauty. tell me–what is your bond with it like? ❞

Sionna twitched uncomfortably as the stranger’s hand came close to her face. Her large round eyes squeezed closed before his fingers found their way into her fur and massaging at her scalp. Oooh, ooh, she really liked that! The tall Eevee let out a purr that was not unnoticed by Fraine, Kina’s Milotic who nudged closer to, perhaps, also get some pets.

“We’ve been nest mates since we were very little, isn’t that right, Sionna?” Kina inquired of her lifetime partner, who made a noise of confirmation. Knowing that proper introductions should be made, Kina awkwardly held out their hand in greeting. “My name is Kina. I believe you are...Keith, right?”

As a gesture of good will, they’re allowing the other Trainers to come meet their Pokemon. All four were surrounding the legendary hero, Sionna looking especially antsy, but a simple pat on her nose was enough to keep her calm and not have her bolt off to the side. Maybe if Sionna took to the other person well enough, she’ll even let them have a ride on her back!

“Hello, would you like to ride my Eevee? Yes, she’s a real Eevee. No need to fear, she’s very gentle.”

A reminder that while Kina’s other Pokemon are generally modern sized, their Eevee is NOT. Kina’s Eevee is comparable to the size of an Arcanine. In other words, this Eevee is the size of a MOUNTABLE ANIMAL.
