cygnimonos:
“U-um sure….” And here she was hoping they could fight together and not having to worry about her skills being judged so easily. Oh well might as well get this over with, she wouldn’t want to give him any false expectations.
Without much thought or strategey she darts forward and quickly begins the fight. As they attempt to strike her down she would dodge as if this were simply a dance. Bare feet would move seemlessly across the floor and if she drew too close to the walls she would effortlessly jump off and land behind the enemy. This was how she had already defeated one of them and the rest of them shortly fell aftwerwords.
“I-I can see why you didn’t feel the need to kill them.. They were actually kinda easy… Are you sure you set this on the hardest mode?” There was no way she was that strong, maybe it was because she didn’t even let the enemies get a chance to hit her. Yeah that was probably it.
the king stood there, staff still in-hand. from what he’s seeing, cygus wasn’t bad at taking care of low tier enemies. so much more praise would be given now that she’s actually wiped the entire first wave. and its just as what she had suspected, the first wave was initially just a warm up. but he had hoped that she had not said anything. the highest difficulty had a mind of its own. and now that cygnus had said something about the first wave.
“ You probably shouldn’t have asked that. ”
and without warning, a wyvern had suddenly spawned out of nowhere, immediately rushing towards cygnus, its mouth agape as rows of teeth was ready to shred her to chunks, but wukong had arrived before her. it seemed that he was faster than the wyvern itself and with but a single strike with the staff of gun-yu, the monkey king severs the wyvern’s head. a grin then formed on the king’s features. for more of these wyverns were sure to come.
“ But I guess I should thank you for that. Now the real fun starts! ”
and when he said real fun.. he kind of meant hell.
mikotsune:
“Shouldn’t that be part of my charm, you monkey?”
“ More like: shouldn’t I be the one asking you that question? Oh, and that’s MONKEY KING to you. ”
mikotsune started following you
“ For a charming fox spirit you sure look smug. ”
wukong voice: the king has arrived.
protegc:
“I’ve heard lesser reasons for killing people, I guess.” It didn’t really bother him, Ricky even shrugging it off with indifference. “Uhh - d-do you know where I am though? O-Or what this place is?”
“ Well where else would you be but at the battlefield of the Ancients! ”
albeit that didn’t really help but the word battlefield would surely be enough to put this strange looking man on alert.
“ I’d watch every angle if you can if I were you. Heroes love to take other heroes by surprise and when I talk about surprise I’m talking about ambushes.”
loyalbreed:
⬛ ⬛ ⬛ 「 The laugh rewarded to him would be something Gawain would keep in heart for time to come in regards of their friendship. Ruler was clearly someone who did not mean harm, even if their words carried a condescending regard, after all Gawain was the sort of man where such antics would bounce off of him. Riding away as if he were truly ignorant to such claims. Especially when they were directed at him. He was an honest Knight and if Gawain had the faintest clue of how highly the other regarded him in this moment. The others chest would cry in pain and glee over a pride toward the love he carried for his fellow knights and himself. ❝ It is true! Whatever time you feel yourself desiring my sword make heed of me! I will come especially if you are around Master them self. ❞
“ Then expect the same of me, Gawain. Just leave it to me. Lots and lots of me. ”
he spoke of the knight’s true name. how was he able to know? well let’s just say that its one of his skills as a ruler, and what did he mean by leaving it to lots of him? well its pretty well obvious on what he’s talking about. its about his army, the legion that is himself. confusing, might be. but gawain would surely know what he means when the day does come. but for now, wukong has one more thing to say to him.
“ You can drop the formalities with me now, you can call me by my name, Gawain. You can call me Wukong if you wish, and that’s not a suggestion. That’s a privilege given to you by a king. ”
or more likely a friend since that’s how wukong sees gawain as of the moment. not a lot of people would have successfully befriended the monkey king the first time around. some always starts off at the wrong foot.
cygnimonos:
Oh his weapon was cool!…. Maybe after this she can ask him about the staff. If she managed to survive that is. Unlike his, her’s was much simpilar and didn’t seem to have any sort of value. Besides the skeleton being made of metal instead of wood, it looked like an ordinary fan. But as some might say, it isn’t the weapon but the person who weilds it that makes it strong. And she was pretty fantastic with it.
“Got it.” She stood behind the monkey, making sure to have his rear guarded while he faced any frontal assault.
the simulation had begun. the lights had went dark, but slowly but surely, their surroundings had started to take form into what appears to be an almost narrow path with nothing but high steep rock walls to be seen from left to right. the enemies had started to spawn from their opposite direction. low class levels, even a master can easily kill them if they had the guts. wukong merely stood there for a good while and turned his attention towards cygnus.
“ Say, Cygnus I’m not really feeling the need to kill those guys. They’re not really much of a challenge. Do you think you can take them all out for me? I’ll take care of the boss don’t worry. ”
this might as well be her chance to show the monkey king what she’s capable of doing as a servant.
obdurcte:
Confidence was key, and his Servant seemed to have that ten fold. Waver knew he didn’t have the same to match, but at least there was certainty from the other. “Have you fought gods though? Wit will only get us so far,” he huffed, trying to make himself seem capable, “We will need a course of action.”
“ Have you no idea of who you are facing? ”
it seems that this mortal literally had no idea who he was. but a little bit of enlightenment should fix it.
“ I waged war against the heavens! The gods feared me before I was even immortal. That’s right, you’re looking at the one and only Sun Wukong. ”
Fun Fact: If Wukong does come to like someone, he's gonna try his luck with them by A LOT.
zordestiya:
There is such a thing as a book of life and death? Now that left him certainly amused. It’s the kind of entertainment one gains from learning about an item that is not within the confines of Bab-ilu. He would have to learn the location of this book just for the satisfaction of being an owner of one. The story endeared him enough to inquire about what happened next.
“Huh, it is lacking, do you not think so? It leaves much to be desired– supposing you were successful in your fruitful journey, then I must ask you this– how come you are here? Your death… still occurred.” Which means it goes the same for him, but he will not speak of it. In truth, he held little idea what came of his end. Some say a serpent had tricked him, while the rest mentioned him dying of old age. Either way, it did not matter one bit.
“There must be a reason why you were called forth.”
“ Well here’s the thing, King of Uruk. ”
this might sound as a surprise, but its the same cases with some of the few divine spirits that had been summoned as a servant to fight in the holy grail war.
“ I am technically still alive! You know how the grail works right? It recognized me as a divine spirit, and my intentions were clearly just to fight. ”
though the answer seemed to be a lot more vague. it still lacked in a few things that were left in the dark, and as such proclaimed by gilgamesh, leaving someone wanting to know more. but how could the monkey king understand something that he knows very little about?
“ How do I put this shortly.. Ah, that’s right. Temporary mortality in exchange of a good fight for my own enjoyment. ”
cygnimonos:
“Th-thanks, glad to know I’ll have someone covering me. I’ll be sure to do the same.”
Well at least he was confident in his ability. Now she should be wary of such a trait when it comes to possibly life threatening situations but she didn’t feel that way for some reason. Was it because of the fact he didn’t seem to give off any fear? Or was it because he was a monkey man? No, that’s definitely not it.
Well whatever it may be she’s just going to focus on surviving and providing the monkey king as much support as possible.
it wasn’t soon enough until they would come to arrive at the simulation chamber. the place was big, enough to make one believe that once the simulation starts, they’re literally inside the real thing. as if they were in a singularity. but then again, only first timers would come to believe that. wukong has conquered this chamber for as more as the next strongest servant in chaldea could ever pull off.
not long enough, the monkey king would summon his weapon of choice. the staff of gun-yu. one would expect for him to use the jingu bang, but as a servant under the service of chaldea, he’s kind of summoned as a ruler. how he missed his own staff, but that didn’t mean he can’t dish out as much as he did with the jingu bang.
“ Stand ready, the simulation is about to start. ”
tinyholygrail:
Illya’s face twisted into a deep scowl; her hands curled into fists at her sides. The burning in her magic circuits was at least keeping her from fully comprehending the cold–for it was always cold in the mountains, without fail, even on those days that she and Kiritsugu had had their walnut-hunting competitions–so she could snap back without fear of too much chattering teeth.
“–Alright, let’s get one thing straight here, Lancer,” she said, opting to emphasize his Servant class since he seemed so insistent on calling her a ‘human’, which was incorrect but who cared about that anymore–“I have read so many legends and myths that I can hardly remember most of them! You think I’m going to remember anything specific when the Heroic Spirits aren’t even necessarily portrayed the same way their legends have depicted them?! You think I’m possibly going to know who you are, when it’s already hard enough to remember even half of the legends I’ve had to read?!”
Never mind that this wasn’t even the right Servant that her catalyst was supposed to summon, so the white-haired homunculus really had no way of determining who Lancer was unless he actually stated it himself. The dream cycle could tell her, but that would take time, time for her to process the information and properly comprehend the correct answer. He clearly expected her to come up with an answer now, and that, well. That wasn’t happening.
At least he bothered to introduce himself, although… She blinked, staring blankly and feeling several snowflakes settling onto her head and melting into even colder water. She was sure his titles were supposed to actually mean something, but really, she was starting to feel too cold to care about dredging up old memories of hunting through old books until her eyes couldn’t see straight anymore, just to remember where his name might’ve been mentioned. “Good for you,” was the best thing her mind could come up with, though it was true that part of her didn’t really care either way.
“And my name–is Illyasviel von Einzbern, your Master–in this war,” she stated, clearly enough despite the fact that the pain in her magic circuits, the price to be binding Lancer to her so early, was rapidly dimming in comparison to the creeping cold. She was trying to be at least vaguely intimidating here, so she was hoping that her shivering wasn’t terribly obvious. “So tell me–Lancer–w-why you should be here–and not the Servant the catalyst–was p-prepared for?”
really? after that grand introduction all that she could say was good for you? majority of the time people would immediately know who he was as long as he provided his name. but this girl? oh, she was far different from the rest. and there it was. she just hasn’t heard any of the many stories about the legends of the monkey king. well there’s nothing he could really do about it. though now that she’s exchanged her name with him, he might as well call her that. knowing how she seemed to dislike being called human, he might as well call her by her first name for her own sake. the monkey king can be mean but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s that mean.
“ Alright, first of all Illyasviel, ”
wow that surely rolled off his tongue quite easily. but that stuff aside.
“ Let me tell you two things before I answer that question of yours: One, I do not see you as a master for now. You’ll have to prove yourself to me. Secondly, you seem to be freezing. ”
it was quite obvious now that she had been stuttering. the weather here was quite cold, the monkey king wasn’t quite bothered with it. though he can’t say the same for his master. he’d gladly enlighten her to why he had become her servant rather than the mindless beast she had wanted. but he doesn’t really like the thought of having to explain something while the person he’s explaining to is busy thinking about making themselves warm.
“ I can tell you about that but first we need to get you some place warm. ”
loyalbreed replied to your post: Accept this gift from the King of Heroes: The...
throw them at him
“ Nope, they’re mine. ”
Accept this gift from the King of Heroes: The oldest pair of kicks in the world. Discovered in the Fort Rock Basin in Oregon, Fort Rock Sandals are made of twined sagebrush bark with a flat sole and a toe wrap. It is believed that the thongs on the sandal should be wrapped around the ankle and then fastened to the other side. Something to appreciate.
“ The gift is well appreciated, King of Heroes but, ”
there’s a moment for the monkey king to pause. he appreciates the gift, he really does. but there was one tiny problem. and when says tiny problem he means a big problem about the sandals.
“ I might not be able to use it.. Kind of a monkey here you know? ”
that extra toe for climbing wouldn’t agree with his feelings either. there’s a reason why the monkey king goes barefoot ALL THE TIME.
cygnimonos:
“G-Gotcha thanks for the heads up!”
Oh dear what had she agreed to. Well it would be rude to decline now so she might as well finish the unintentional grave she was digging and jump in. Let’s hope she won’t die before she will even get a chance to go to a singularity.
“ No problem! ”
he could pretty much sense the worry from her. oh, she should be worried alright. the deadliest difficulty was not to be taken as a joke, but at the very least she should feel at ease. she was going to battle with the monkey king after all.
“ Don’t worry, I’m not one for team fights but rest assured that I’ve got your back. ”
