Alston was making his way outside, hence the cigarette between his lips, when a bunch of sand poured into the room… and began building itself up until it roughly resembled the shape of a man. Rather than walking away, he stood there and watched as it did some summer version Frosty-The-Snowman magic bullshit and came to life. “Freak out?” He questioned as he took the cigarette from between his lips and tucked it behind his ears. “I ain’t gonna freak out just because you were a fuckin’ sand castle six seconds ago. Not the first time I’ve seen a naked man before,” he replied with a rough sigh as he shrugged his shoulders. “Normally only happens around my birthday but, hey, I sure as shit ain’t complaining. Now– hold on– you don’t need to get yourself covered up just yet. I’m not bothered by the view,” Alston added on with a playful smirk, “In fact, we could head back to that shit room they gave me here and pretend it’s my birthday.”

-------- dean was caught off guard by the man’s response. his words were prefaced by his skin going red with embarrassment and his two hands covering his crotch. “i---uh. thanks.” he said, suddenly finding it hard to make eye contact. even though it wasn’t the first time he was propositioned when this happened, it never failed to shock him. “well----i don’t want to just stay here out in the open.” dean said, as he looked around. he was grateful that he got such a good response after he almost got arrested for public indecency. “i wasn’t a sand castle.”

“sounds to me like you want the guys to see your junk.” his shoulders bounce. “not my business, really.”

it’s one thing to be in a warzone, or in barracks, and see men walk around naked. it’s almost an expectation. it’s just what they did. for comfort, or some just because they thought it was fun for some reason. in the advocates hall, clay had gotten used to some time without the usual jackassery, but the sudden appearance of pecs, abs, and dick was not too much of a surprise for him. rather than balk, he just pulled his own shirt over his head and chucked it at the guy.

------ the silence made dean feel a little awkward but he accepted the shirt regardless. even though his bottom half was still exposed, he figured it was better to be half-naked than completely naked. “uh, thanks.” he really needed to stop using his powers in his civilian clothing but sometimes emergencies just demanded for it and it couldn’t be helped. “i would say don’t tell anyone about this but i think a lot of guys around here have seen my junk already.” dean really did do this a lot.

------- dean’s mentoring strategy was especially one on one. so he didn’t mind taking the young heroes out on the town and showing them a good time. the man knew that what made him a good mentor was that he was good at identifying with the students and that as an actual teacher he was sometimes lacking. so he made up for it by leaning on his strengths rather than his weaknesses. “after this you can go ‘head and tell everybody that i’m your favorite.” dean said with a teasing grin and a hearty pat on dane’s back. sonoran’s second thought was cut by the sound of gunfire from a small distance. 

              “looks like our little lunch break is over.” with that he rolled his eyes so hard he could almost see his own brain.
