Two notes on this:

Of course, the wolf motif originates with his command over Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the Isle of Werewolves, but in my mind, I like to incorporate it across all his forms, subtly or otherwise. He's a dog gal. 🫢

Despite being unable to take fair form post-Akallabêth, I think the body he weaves next would be a testament to his craft, that he would make use of metallurgy to somewhat cheat his way into a new "fair form", albeit perhaps one more suited to the eyes of mortal kings ( that is, beauty by the standards of man; not elven light with flowing hair, but power, might and mortal treasure beholden to his stature. It makes a provocative temptation out of Mordor, as a country of plenty, and Sauron a king of great wealth, which is, perhaps, more trustworthy to the men of Middle Earth than any elven creature. ) In any case, I imagine he was .. particularly grieved about losing his spirit's beauty — he is a vain creature, yes, but consider was also a limitation placed upon his creativity, as well as a hurdle for his manipulations — and wore many masks and helms and veils. [ do NOT imagine his rotting spirit beneath the mask! ]
