Biting his bottom lip roughly, he closed his eyes. “My mom worked at the pharmacy in town and my dad was a cop so they convinced everyone in town that I needed sleeping pills after the incident. They would drug my food. At first it was all the time. Just enough to keep me out of it and then it began to be only around full moons and then they would lock me up in the basement.” Opening his eyes, he looked down at his shaking hands. “They promised me they wouldnt drug me that time. I thought I had, I dont know, built up trust by being good and then I began to feel it. I had barely eaten anything but I could feel it and I guess I had wasted enough time that I was changing. And I was angry but mostly hurt.” Swallowing a lump in his throat, he shook his head trying to hide the break in his voice or the tears beginning to build in his eyes.. “My dad removed his taser and I panicked. My mom tried to pull me off and I attacked her too. I ddnt mean to kill them.”
Her eyes narrowed at him as she listened to everything that he had to say. Her eyes focused on his reaction and she waited a minute of silence as everything he said sank in. Finally making her mind up about him Gabby stood up as her entire appearance changed. “Okay then.” She said before setting her finger under his chin for him to look up. “Come on. I will show you around the home. You will have your own space upstairs and tomorrow afternoon we will go get you new clothes.”
