My name is Quinnie! I am NOT new to pagan tumblr. You may know me as ofthealaura. I decided to change accounts so that I could easily ask something of my followers without having to remove a bunch of people.

I don't mind minors following and interacting with me, but I would prefer it if only 18+ people messaged me. While, yes, I am only 18 years old, I am turning 19 in less than six months. can you tell me more about your prayer beads? I want to use them in my practice with my deities, but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks!

Hi Grace! I would LOVEEEE to talk about my prayer beads!!

I have a set of prayer beads for each one of my deities; mine came from ThreeKeyStudios on Etsy. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP MORE! I've never gone anywhere else. Their work is literally phenomenal! So, if any of you ARE looking for where to buy prayer beads, I'd go there! They also do custom pieces (which is where/how I got the majority of mine)!

Onto actually talking about my prayer beads- I'm very VERY new to them tbh, but the way I use them isn't specific to praying. I like to include them in my morning routine (when I have the energy to do my morning routine). I also use them when I need to ground, meditate, include the deity in different activities, and of course, prayer. Specific ways I use my prayer beads look like:

1. In my morning routine, I use them to pray.

2. To ground, I hold them in my hands and do some breathing exercises.

3. In meditation, it depends; sometimes I will repeat something with each bead, and sometimes I will just do the grounding thing.

Prayer is a tiny bit more complicated in my opinion. I don't hold my beads in a traditional way at all. I literally suck at that, so most times I put one bead into my grasp and let the rest of the beads hang down. Every time I say a line in a Prayer, I say it with one bead, and then move to the next. I hope that makes sense, I'm awful at explaining things 😭

I write my own prayers for my beads! They suck and are super personal to me so I won't be sharing them. But I don't rhyme my prayers, because I don't really see a point, and I'm just not good at rhyming lol. I list a bunch of epithets, thank the deity, and then (sometimes) ask for guidance on a subject (or two). As you can kinda tell, there isn't really a structure to my prayer beads like a lot of people have; i just sit there and pray like a normal person would, except with beads in my hands.

My biggest pointers would just be to make the experience personal to you, find beads that you LIKE so you'll use them as often as you want to, and don't give in to pressure about how to use them! It's a different experience for everyone. I'm also absolutely not an expert on these so if you want to disregard everything I just said, go ahead!
