Levi watched his cousin, nodding his head with a smile and chuckle. “Well I was passed and confused. He left us so long ago and I felt angry for so long... but then he's my dad... and something wants to know him... “ he shrugged. “And then I'm worried about casserole and raven... and mom...and I know mom would say that I don't need to worry about her, and that the twins are grown up but if he ups and leaves again...” he trailed off.

         oakley listened softly as he promised her that he wasn’t going anywhere and she pondered if she actually wanted to tell him her truth or not. in any other circumstance, she probably would have kept her secret to herself, but in a town that seemed to be crawling with supernatural creatures, she figured it wouldn’t do much harm. ❝ as if all of that wasn’t traumatic enough, the night of my twenty-first birthday, i was unwillingly turned into a vampire. more specifically, a ripper. ❞ it was one of the rare instances where oakley had actually had the courage to admit it out loud.

The admission of the other becoming a vampire wasn't really news but that she was a ripper had levi shocked. Not enough to cause alarm to the other but enough for himself to be cautious-likely linked to his werewolf gene. “I'm sorry... I wish i could say it would be alright... but I have no idea what that is like...but I do know what it's like to have feelings you Don't feel like you can control..” he admitted referring to the anger that came with being an untriggered wolf. “It's hard, but there is usually a way to soothe though thoughts.” He assured her.

Casper lowered his head, trying to conceal his smile before nodding and glancing from the puppy back towards Levi. “Yeah. Figured I had to come by seeing as you’d seen that I read the message” he taunted before running his digits through his hair. Levi’s question coaxed hesitation from Casper, grazing his teeth against his lip in thought before responding, “yeah uh, fine. You?”

A roll of his eyes explained his reaction to Caspers words. “Oh great... Nice to know it was only for that and not because you actually love me or wanted to see me” he teased. He observed his brother and wondered if casserole was being truthful, but he had recently learnt forcing things from his siblings or being overbearing simply created a wedge between them. “Good.. me? I'm doing better... better that I have for a while...”

       ember smiled warmly at her brother and wrapped her arms fondly around him when he pulled her into a hug. ❝ ha ha ha, you’re so funny. ❞ the brunette mumbled with a roll of her eyes. ❝ i’m okay, all things considered. how are you, vi? ❞

Levi pulled back with a smile down to his sister “oh I know...” he teased. “All things considered?” He repeated wondering if he had missed anything with his sister. “I'm okay... things are getting better... I haven't felt this good in a long time.” He admitted to the younger.

       oakley didn’t make a habit of crying in front of other people, but talking about the most horrible moment of her life meant that she wasn’t going to be able to avoid that. feeling him reach up and wipe the tears from her cheek, oakley offered him a delicate smile. ❝ i – it’s not that i don’t want to tell you, because we’re already having a moment. i just – people tend to run the other way when i tell them the next thing. ❞

       since she was currently living at the compound, ember had no need to look for a place to live, but that didn’t stop her from getting excited when each of her siblings moved into a new place. hearing that levi had just bought a house, the youngest kenner sibling found herself quickly making her way towards the address he’d given her. strolling up to the house, the brunette laughed softly when she saw simba barking at an inanimate object. ❝ he’s your dog alright. ❞

Trust me, I am well versed in it.” The warlock’s frame tensed slightly as he released a sharp breath “I did the same after your grandparents died and after Willow passed.” A saddened smile tugged at the corners of Nic’s lips, but it disappeared as rapidly as it had appeared. “I am not a good man. Maybe I was once, but I wondered often why I lived and they died.” The warlock cleared his throat as he lifted his head once again “no use comes from torturing yourself.”

He wasn’t wanting to hear it, but knew that the other was speaking the truth. “I guess... but I just can’t seem to get past it...thinking it’s my fault..” Levi admitted. “perhaps you were meant to live to do something... to have us... I don’t know... but something...” he wondered. “I can’t help it... I just feel like I failed them... I failed to keep them safe... “ •°*”˜.•°*”˜

It was a simple coincidence that Faith was cycling past Levi’s house before she spotted the pair and began to slow. “Cute pup!” she called out towards them as her gaze immediately fell upon the puppy. “What’s his name?”

Having received a cryptic message from his brother with an address on, for curiosity’s sake, Casper had gone to check it out. As he arrived, he spotted Levi across the street near the sold sign. “This yours?” he questioned as he approached, a soft smile eventually forming as he glanced towards the puppy bounding across the yard.

Soon the pup was at his feet tail wagging looking for attention. “You got my message then Cas?” he questioned rhetorically. “How're you doing baby brother?” •°*”˜.•°*”˜

˜”*°•.˜”*°• Despite the tension between Levi and his father, he had been given the deed to a penthouse and at his stage in life property was probably something he should have - after all he was trying to save for a deposit on a bank load for his own house. so when the papers finally arrived for the penthouse, he was quick to sell it on and put the money towards a typical house - white picket fence and all that. Even after the purchase, he had managed to have a good sum of money left over - and although he wanted to renovate the house he was certain even after that he would be settled for a good while. That always made him wonder how his father could afford to give the three of them a pent house if they all cost the same as levi’s.

As he stood near the gate with the sold sign over the realor advertising sign, he was caught by the small barks of his newly adopted puppy. The labrador was barking at a metal ghecko that adorned one of the outer walls. Levi chuckled as the pup stumbled back tumbling down the two steps onto the porch. “nice one simba... barking at a fake lizard..” he smiled. •°*”˜.•°*”˜

Walking down the street a bright smile light up Sierra’s face as she came across a pop up adoption event for a local animal shelter. Of course, Riley wanted to go see the puppies and Sierra let go of the little hand in hers and let her run over to the puppy pen, smiling ear to ear as she watched her play with one of the smaller ones. She kept her eye on her daughter until a family adopting one of the puppies caught her eye and the children were so excited. The longer she watched the excitement, Sierra suddenly found her eyes welling with tears before they started falling down her cheeks. “Dammit….” she muttered as she wiped her cheeks, trying to regain her composure. “I promise I’m not normally this emotional.” she assured the person next to her who she was sure was giving her a weird look.

˜”*°•.˜”*°• Levi had also been passing the adoption event and felt compelled to check it out. even without adopting an animal he would be able to donate a small bit which he hoped could help them. However, he was soon taken with a puppy that had been abandoned and was now the right age to leave the shelter for a home. As he craddled the puppy receiving puppy kisses on his cheek and nose he noticed his little cousin in the crowd and scanned before spotting his aunt/ Approaching he soon slowed down spotting her emotion. As he reached her, he gave her a smile. “Aunt S... everything okay?” he wondered. •°*”˜.•°*”˜

Lizzie grumbled to herself as she pushed through the trees, wading through the masses of leaves on the ground. “Seriously, Hope…. Have me trekking through god knows what in this bayou all because you wanted to go for a run. Go for a run, fine. But don’t ask me to join you when you’re done when I have no freaking idea where I’m going in this place.” As she continued to make her way through the bayou, she heard the snap of a branch not far away but thought nothing of it until she rounded a tree and ran into a body, letting out a quiet scream. “Jesus…. Sneak up on people much. God, I don’t like this place.”

˜”*°•.˜”*°• the bayou was always home to Levi - he was born there and raised there before going to salvatore boarding school and returning for the holidays. of course it wasn’t all happy times - for years he was forced to grow up here without his mother except for the full moon. As he heard another and soon felt another persons weight added to his own, he panted slightly as she spoke. He recognised the other as a student from the school - a few years younger than he was. “whoa sorry... usually people who are out here know wthere they are going... I take it you don’t” he wondered. •°*”˜.•°*”˜.

Talking his way out of a situation was usually Jamie’s forte, although this time after accidentally crashing into somebody else’s car, his attempts to defuse the situation weren’t exactly going as planned. “Look, i’ll pay for the damages alright. I said I was sorry.”

It was when he noticed a car accident followed by the two owners clashing heads that he approached. Over hearing the one offering to pay, Levi relaxed a little but knew the other driver could easily reignite the fuse on their tempers. “hey, uh is everything okay here?” he wondered although he knew it wasn’t •°*”˜.•°*”˜

His expression remained distant and it was as if he had no fight left in him - no way to argue back with his father. “I do.” he admitted. “I come here to think.... think about kaiden and his mom...” he admitted to the other. “its usually quiet here so it gives me time to think... to come up with stupid ideas on how I could have done something or said something to make the outcome different.” •°*”˜.•°*”˜
