âAt least this town has a good coffee.â
âOne of itâs few redeeming perks.â
Diana: heavenly, divine, related to dyeus (Zeus); Diana was the Roman goddess of the moon, hunting, forests, and childbirth, identified with the Greek goddess, Artemis.
ldunbcr:
âSo my dreams are trying to tell me something? Iâd be pretty curious to hear what they have to say.â
âWell they could be, Iâm not saying that are for sure. Sometimes dreams are just dreams. Any specific ones youâre curious about?â
unbalancedbanshee:
Lydia nodded with a smile and began to walk away, but hoped that Diana would follow, obviously. âIt isnât too hard to figure out, once you know what kind of girl she is,â Lydia smirked, revealing the stash of booze laid out right on the table in the living room. âProbably upstairs with a guy,â Lydia joked, smiling a bit as she poured Diana a drink.Â
Diana faltered briefly, then followed after Lydia. The brunette tilted her head to the side and smirked. âWell at least she knows how to throw a party,â she mumbled at the array of alcohol spread on the table. âSounds like sheâs turning into Faye.â What Diana remembered of Caroline didnât exactly discredit what Lydia was suggesting, but it didnât prove it. âSo anyway how are you? Are you liking being free of high school?â
ldunbcr:
âWeird question. Do you think thereâs any merit to the weird shit we dream about?â
âI wouldnât put too much merit into anything literal, but in an abstract way, maybe. Sometimes our subconscious is telling us things we donât want to hear in ways we might listen.â
ofplaidshirts:
âI know because I see it in visions, and those visions turn out to be real.â Sam knew his physic abilities were difficult for anyone to fathom. If he could convince her of the truth, he could save someoneâs life. âIâm not the one about to die, thatâs not how it works.â Â Â
Diana shifted on the spot. Sheâd heard about scrying and other forms of divination, but what Sam was describing sounded like a completely different realm. âOkay fine. Youâre not going to die, but what would me leaving gain you? Maybe I can help if I stay.â
ofmiserys:
âSomething like that.â The story was a bit more complicated but Diana didnât need to know. âRebecca.â Seemed better to give the girl her real name. âAnd thanks. Nice to see a town soâŠwelcoming.â
Diana laughed lightly. âWelcoming is one word.â She paused. âItâs hard to hide in a small town like this. People like to keep up with everyone elseâs business.â Diana took a deep breath. It was a trait she was readjusting to quickly. âItâs nice to meet you, Rebecca. So, are you planning on staying in Beacon Falls long?â
unbalancedbanshee:
Lydia smirked a little and raised an eyebrow. âIâm not Lydia Martin for silly reasons,â she challenged, watching Diana attempt several positions to see if Lydiaâs handiwork would hold. It did, thankfully, and Lydia was fairly impressed with herself. âI work best under pressure,â Lydia smirked, shaking her empty cup in her hand. âSpeaking of DRINKS, can I get you one?â
Diana tipped her head to the side in resignation. Fair point. âGood to know,â she added lightly. Diana smiled and nodded. âYeah, thatâd be great. Iâve yet to find where Caroline is keeping the booze.â She looked around the house. âActually, Iâve yet to find Caroline even.â
ethicalelijah:
âQuaint little town isnât it?â
âOnly if you mean quaint as in charming. Thereâs only so much around here thatâs old fashioned. Given how small Beacon Falls is it can be pretty up-to-date.â
evolvinghale:
âNow that would just bring too much pressure on a good samaritan anyway.â, he attempted at her words with a chuckle of his own. Derek shrugged off his black leather jacket, leaving him to wear blood red henley as he extended the jacket to her, âSo Iâll let you hold onto that until someone here is able to find a solution. And that is only understandable.â. He made a point to pay more attention to her smile instead of the exposed area below her head, âSometimes casual is overrated.â, he cleared his throat, in all means to keep it cool and casual.
Diana could feel her cheeks get warm as he took of his jacket to give to her. âIf it makes you feel better, I think you giving me your jacket makes you an even better samaritan than just holding the elevator for me.â She nodded along and smiled. Diana slipped his jacket on. âThanks,â she let out a small laugh. âYouâre right. Casual can be overrated.â She bit her lip and extended her hand, which was mildly engulfed by his jacket sleeve. âI think an introduction is probably in order by now, Iâm Diana.â
alicestroubles:
âyeah, I got you.â alice dug her hand into her pocket, pulling out various things, hair pins, ties, clips, a pocket knife, before finally finding a safety pin, âIâm the mary poppins of pointless shit, youâre welcome.â
Dianaâs eyes went a little wide at the rare possibility of someone actually being able to save her dress. âReally? Thanks,â Diana smiled, and breathed a sigh of relief. âWow,â she muttered at the sight of all the things. She gingerly took the pin. âYou must come in handy a lot.â
ofplaidshirts:
The womanâs voice sounded familiar, as if heâd met her before. He was too preoccupied to ponder where he heard the voice from. It wasnât until he glanced upwards her identity hit him. Diana. âLook I donât think, I know. I can see deaths before they happen.â
Diana looked around them as he spoke, as if sheâd spot someone about to be murdered. âBut how do you know?â Even for being a witch, Diana was largely a person of logic. âSam, Iâm not leaving you here if what youâre saying is true. What if itâs you thatâs about to die? Iâm not going to leave you here alone.â
scootxmccool:
âReally? Iâm always ruining my shirts.â Usually with rips from claws or blood, but he decided that wasnât the best conversation for a Christmas party. âMy mom has to keep stocking up in case of shirt shortage.â Scott glanced up from his shoes when he heard the zipper zip closed. âYeah, flashing isnât, well, itâs not for everyone. Kind of hard to pay attention to presents and snowflakes when thereâs, you know ââ He stopped talked and shoved his hands in his pocket, foot meet mouth. âI think it looks good,â he nodded towards his jacket, deciding his best course of action was to change the subject. âI donât know a lot about this kind of thing, but Iâm pretty sure black goes with everything.â
âIâm usually more prepared for these things. Not that my dresses break often, but usually Iâm not wearing the type of dress that would break like this.â Diana smiled at Scott. âWell I bet your mom has better style than my dad,â she replied instinctively. For a moment Dianaâs face fell thinking about her father. She hadnât spoken to him in⊠she didnât want to think about it. Dianaâs eyebrows shot up. A slow smile crept over her face. âExactly. I personally like snow better.â Diana brushed some of her hair off her shoulder. âThanks, again. I really do appreciate it.â She cast a quick look down at the jacket. âI think it works.â She laughed. âSo other than being stuck helping me, have you been having fun tonight?â
girlxblunder:
Elena shook her head and ducked a little too late. She wiped the snow off of her head and tried to look intimidating. It was a hard feat when she couldnât stop laughing. âYou donât know what you gotten yourself into, Diana Meade. You are in for a world of hurt,â she hummed, bending down to scoop up some snow. Her fingers were freezing, but she hadnât ever minded the cold. It was a nice distraction. Laughing and throwing snow at her friend was a nice distraction. But distractions, they could only last so long. âIâll have you know that I was crowned the snowball champ of Beacon Falls in â02. All thanks to this baba,â she flexed her arm and then launched her snowball â so maybe champion was a bit of an exaggeration. She barely hit the edge of Dianaâs arm.Â
Seeing Elena laugh only made Dianaâs smile grow wider. Since coming back, it almost felt as if she hadnât genuinely smiled. She laughed as she watched Elena flex her arm. As she snowball was thrown, Diana curled her body to try and protect herself and felt the snowball hit her arm. She brushed off the snow and started on her next snowball. âFor being a champ over a decade ago, that wasnât bad,â Diana teased. âBut thereâs been room for a new champion since then.â She felt like a kid. A kid who never lost her parents, never found her book of shadows, never let her heart get broken, never left. âIâm here to claim my title!â she giggled, launching another snowball, and only a few moments after, throwing the second one sheâd made discreetly.
unbalancedbanshee:
âI wouldnât count you out,â Lydia laughed, smirking a bit as well. âOh, wow, I must not pay attention. Or Iâve had one too many⊠Diana, right. Well, nice to meet you, or re-meet you.â
Diana quickly countered, waving her hand. âDonât worry about it, itâs been a few years since I was even at the school myself.â She smiled back at Lydia. âThe same to you.â Diana inspect her top a little more closely to ensure it wouldnât just pop open on her. âYou really are pretty impressive with this,â she noted. âEspecially if you think youâve had one too many.â
ofmiserys:
Misery didnât exactly know anyone here. âUh, the Winchesters. Related to the Argents if you know who they are. Other than that, no one. Not exactly from here.â
âSam and Dean brought you to this party?â Dianaâs eyebrows lifted. Sheâd run into Sam already, but hadnât been sure theyâd stuck around. âWell regardless, youâre here now. Iâm Diana, welcome to Beacon Falls.â She smiled at the stranger.
evolvinghale:
For a moment Derek felt like scene was exactly like one of those sitcom moments in a poor comedy series. The werewolf wasnât blind, and he wasnât a man; his expression flattening from its normal compose for a split of a second. He cleared his throat and definitely met the eyes of the woman he could recall meeting before. âUnfortunately youâre not in luck with me this time.â, but he was trying to think on a spot, âDo you⊠Want to borrow my jacket?â.
Diana laughed unevenly. âI suppose good samaritan doesnât equal my hero in every scenario.â She gnawed on her lip for a moment before nodding. âMaybe just for a minute?â She wrinkled her nose and tried to smile with more confidence. âIâm sort of hoping someone here might be able to find a solution, but I also donât really want everyone to see, well, everything.â She cleared her throat. âThis is big jump form casual conversation in an elevator.â
