‘No other president has ever done something like this,’ Trump told the late soldier’s father.
More evidence that he’s the worst person ever to occupy the office of President.
WHAT IS THIS?
He obviously has no concept of our system of government, and worse, no interest in learning about it. And he’s so insanely insecure and self-focused that he doesn’t care about the message this sends to Americans, and to autocrats around the world.
How do we get out of this? Or ever recover as a country? Our wannabe emperor-king is a black-hearted person, a lazy, selfish, shameless brat. And yes, an utter moron. And he’s ruining America.
I feel every word of this.
The singer, who died on Monday, was tuned in to the blank spaces between our catastrophes and triumphs, when we are desperately trying to sort out what comes next.
I listened to his Greatest Hits album every day I drove to high school.
His was the first grown-up concert I went to in college, with my freshman-year dorm roommates.
I distinctly remember “American Girl” playing in the background the night I met my husband.
During my maternity leave, I re-watched the four-hour documentary about his career, and sang along with his songs while my baby nursed, hoping my son would somehow soak up the lyrics and notes and have them be as comforting and familiar to him someday as they have been to me.
It truly felt like he’d always be with us. That you’d always be able to see him the next time he came to town on tour.
My all-time fave. RIP.

Why is every single cabinet leader chosen by Trump such an absolute failure of a leader? No vision, no care or concern for workers, no attempt to get them on board with the new agenda. How degrading and awful it must be as an employee of this administration.
Amen. My neighbor in the dorms freshman year was forced to go to college by his upper class parents because that's what people in his wealthy community did after high school. All he really wanted to do was work on vintage BMWs. Guess what--he dropped out of college after two years to do just that. There are plenty of people like him who want to work with their hands. Don't shame kids who want to do vocational work into going to college if they're not cut out for it.
“I think I have to give this a no dawg.”
My favorite genre of internet writing la la la la la la la
Los Angeles Times film critics Kenneth Turan and Justin Chang compile a list of 25 "buried treasures" from the last 20 years of film.
I was in Ken’s film criticism class 12 years ago when Best of Youth came out. He made us see it as an assignment--there’s no other way I would have agreed to see a movie in theaters in two parts over two days--and it was just wonderful. Highly recommend bingeing it on a lazy weekend!
BRB adding lots of others from this list to my queue...
WHAT??! He was planning to pardon him before the trial. Trump is a disaster on every level as president: Total contempt for our system of government, his oath of office, and the entire concept of justice. Despicable.
This explains everything.
A black mother has to figure out what to tell her six-year-old about racism and violence in the place they call home.
This just killed me: “Because when you discover racism, there is no dipping your toes in the water, no testing the temperature out. There is no great scaffolding, no good metric or measure for how to best encounter this strange American birthright of flesh-based hatred. There is no Green Book of the Black Soul.”
Look, there's nothing wrong with working as a security guard, receptionist, golf caddy, event planner, or hotel manager. That's fine work that pays and requires certain skills. But there is something terribly wrong when these same people are elevated into positions of authority and major responsibility based purely on their fealty to a person. Some jobs require specific expertise and experience, some jobs have enormous impact on the welfare of employees and citizens and can't be assigned to just anyone. What was it Steve Jobs used to say? "A players hire A players. B players hire C players." Our president is a classic B player. His ego can't allow him to surround himself with anyone with any sort of knowledge or talent that outstrips his own because it would make him look bad by comparison.
Right-hander will bolster starting rotation
It’s all happening.
This is magnificent.
If the Dodgers win and the Giants lose at their current pace, the Giants would become just the second team since the 1962 Mets to finish at least 50 games out of first place. How is this is happeni…
*laughs with glee*
