Ive been pondering and organizing this The Hand theory in my mind for a while and now I'm finally typing it out YIPPEE!!!!!!!
Idk how to explain it, but the way she teaches him here makes me think she's a separate person. And I feel like she could have made him, "I wouldn't want you to come undone" then was she the one who 'done' or created him? How would she know telling him her name would alter him in some way? maybe learning someone else's name when he doesn't have one yet could alter him in his current state? Like change his identity somehow? But Lindel told him his name when they first met and Elias didnt have a name, It could be because of the Scotland Fae queen's curse or the situations circumstances that he's so fragile that even a name could alter/make him come undone perhaps.

Yk Joseph's curse? His curse could be transferred onto chise because they switched eyes. There's also smth u do with some sort of ritual thing where u use someone's hair, tooth, or fingernail, to create a new being or voodoo shit. What I'm trying to say is Elias might've been created using one of Ms. Hand's uhhhhhhh DNA? Or part of her which is why he likely had white hair in Ch.40.
One of the things a fae probably needs is "essence" basically an element, like the Ariel wind sprites, the fire sprites at the aerie, and Angelica's vodyanoi friend being water. Elias mentioned his essence being shadow in ulthar, and what u need next is "flesh" for his body, maybe that part was made from Ms. Hand, who is a human mage, and why the fae says he wears "a shell of flesh", maybe he was created using some her blood, or some of her teeth, finger nail, hair, or whatever

I don't fucking know LMAO 😭😭😭, If I could guess, it's 🌈MAGIC🌈. like how Joseph's curse, even though it was just a fragment, is able to talk to chise, Elias, who carries Ms. Hand's flesh, is able to talk to his creator. The only thing that doesn't make sense tbh is how she's inside him, could Ms. Hand be dead and this is only what's left of her? Or is she dilly dallying in some other place in God knows where?
So basically.. Elias was created by Ms. Hand and she used her blood or smth from her body for his flesh, which is why he has the "shell of human flesh" thing, and she used the essence of shadow for his essence somehow, maybe she's some sort of shadow mage? Like how chise uses fire all the time.
I'm also still holding onto my Elias-has-a-human-mind theory, and basically: the rest of him may be fae, but one of the things that isnt is his mind, what made ,e think this is because of his choices and way of thinking e.g.
Titania suggests taking chise back against her will, it's what the fae would do
Elias (the goat) decides to change for her sake instead, instead of taking titania's suggestion
"Any one of us (referring to the fae) would have done the same" Elias did something so unfae-like, faeries doing whatever they want regardless of how the other person feels is in their nature, but Elias doesn't do this. Which made me think his mind might've been human
The trace of human Rahab mentioned might not exactly be his flesh either tbh, it could either be his mind, flesh, or both. Or maybe the "flesh" is referring to his mind because when Chise absorbed part of Elias when they were confronting Joseph there wasn't any blood, he was all shadow, so flesh likely isn't his literal body. Welp, whatever the "flesh" is, I'm thinking it's Ms. Hand.
I think Ms. Hand could also be a deity like mannanan, but mannanan technically isn't a deity? He's really just a mage that humans started worshipping as a deity, so... Maybe she's like mannanan? Idk...
