Blooms Tattoos (animation, still and the circle mark)
Ok there it is. The tattoo Bloom get's in chapter 56 of my fanfic (here)
I can not tell you how happy I am with this piece! Not only is it my first animation (I finally got Procreate dreams and I am DELIGHTED! and frustrated) But also …It FINALLY happened!
I drew something like I imagines it in my head!
Here is the non animated version of it:
Basically it's really simple: A dragon (modeled loosely after the Great Dragon, in Blooms colours. Let me tell you the scales were the worst thing.
There were three elements there were really important to me
That it holds the circle mark (the star between Blooms shoulder blades) symbolizing just how much Bloom values and cares for her friends.
It's tale wrapping around/ caressing the scar from Bloom getting shot (chapter 46)
(and this is foreshadowing) the antler like horns with their filigree decorations. That will be important later.
Overall I am just REALLY happy with it. And it feel just so nice to have a full on drawing I am happy and proud of! (Maybe one FAR off day…I'll animate the dragon moving all over Blooms body…since it can do that, but rn, that's SOO out of my league)
Also as a treat have Blooms fairy circle mark on it's own!
Scars
I can not tell you happy I am with this piece! Not only is this the first time in a long time that I drew something (and finished it), but I also REALLY love this piece!
Ok so this is based on chapter 56. someone in the comments asked about Blooms tattoo so I got two flys in one! This is about Blooms scars in my AU and the next piece is then about the tattoo.
Ok so…One of the things that I’ll always draw for my Bloom is freckles. For one because I love the idea that Bloom, being a Dragonborn, her freckles are in fact Dragon scales in disguise. So that is one thing.
Now for the scars. I described it in chapter 48, that Bloom has scars all over her body. Maybe one day I’ll make a full body version, but right now I like this one as it is.
I wanted to show the different types of scars there are. I also looked at myself. I have so many different type of scars. Small ones, big ones, ones you can barely see, those that stand out, old, new bright red, pink white…
I did research while drawing this, so that the scars look realistic, but at the same time I wanted them to look magical in a way.
Which is why the Lichtenberg figures (lightning scars on the left arm (which you might notice goes up to her chin) and right shoulder blade) are much more vibrant and seemingly glowing. They are magical scars Bloom got from Stormy hitting her mark so there is some kind of residual magic still in them.
As for the other scars…I imagine that they are from a lot of things.
The one on Blooms right should is from the Army of decay where a beast got to her.
The one on her left ribs is definitely from either Darkar or one of his minions.
The raised one on the outside of the right upper arm is definitely from Icy holding ice to/ freezing Blooms skin. (Fun fact, ice burn scars can turn out white or rather dark. (I also realized that I could added some of Icy's blueish white magic to the scars…))
And of course there is the big one on her right side from being shot at with an overpowered tank missile basically. One of the reasons why I wanted to do this sketch was to show this particular scar. For its size and to show just how much of an eye-catcher it is.
(I totally get why the animatos didn't allow any scars, just thinking about animating those scars…NO just no…but well I am no animator and I am not bound by canon. So here is my Bloom with scars.
This is also a pre-post for me showing off Blooms tattoo. Which might just come in a few days!

Is valtor starting to love bloom? (In his own creepy way)

so I am going to answer this by copy and pasting my answer to a comment to my story specifically Chapter 51:
"Which is why I love slowburn so much. It's a thousand little things that make you appreciate a person. A thousand little moment where you learn about them. A thousand little quirks you learn to like and predicate. Common ground you realize you have over time and moments where you just stare because WTF why do you like THAT? So I can not answer that with one moment, because…well I don't work like that. But! He learned to appreciate how cutthroat Bloom can be if pushed to far when she sealed him in Cloudtowers wall (Chapter 10/11 I think). Seeing her broken pieces after the incident on Solaria made him realize that she might truly understand him. Her diving into the forge on Solaria gave him a heart attack and the realization that he will never EVER be bored again. The jump from the waterfall on Lynphea was the first moment of pure glee and age appropriate behaviour he saw from her. She was reckless and careless and at the same time she was so very bright and happy, that was the first moment he saw BLOOM, the Bloom we met in S1. Her revealing the Diaspro plot and the subterfuge they had been doing for years made him sit up and pay attention because sure they know how to play the political game- Bloom showed that with the marriage negotiations- but this? Long term plans, integrate ones at that?- Oh that is right up his alley. Her behaviour around the Wyrms and how easily she just bickers with him, how she is not afraid at all of him no matter what he had done in the past, that might just be the first moment he really relaxed around her, knowing that she is willing to face him head on. Her behaviour during the ball… God there are thousand litte moment where he fell in love with her in some way. Like I said I have NO plans/ideas when because I don't work like that, but those moments are there. Valtor appreciates the political play Bloom is as much as she relies on her allies and friends, but he also starts to like and ...well love the person beneath. The reckless, self-sacrificing woman that cares so much and is so gentle even after everything."
He has been falling in love with Bloom for a LONG time. He did realize that fact around Chapter 51, but as shown above, he has slowly falling in love with her for much much longer.
That being said: my ass is very much AROACE. So my perspective on love and falling in love might be a lot different than others. Which…again why I love slowburn so much.

ok so for your lastest chapter the winx are supposed to graduate in a month and its also the first day of school. so is graduation happen that close to the begining of the school year? if so why? as always keep up the great work, your awsom :)

Yes graduation happens at the beginning of the new school year.
Why you ask? Plot convenience! I needed them to be back in school for the Alfea arc to kick off… so here we are.
Another reason is that my University does graduation ceremonies in the middle of the next semester after you passed all your exams. So it's kind of based on that too.
And also based on my Uni, we have internships between semester so sometimes you do not get your last grade until the following semester even though the grade itself is counted into last semester. So think of it like that. Here repetition exams would count in too. If you have a bit more time during the break to study and take an exam again it's less stress than having to repeat things while being two days away from graduation. (I am saying this from a teachers and student perspective)

I have a question. I am doing, once again, a reread of your fic and I just noticed a detail.
The council, at first, wanted Bloom to be wearing white. I was wondering, is it common for brides in the Magical dimension to wear white like it is on Earth, or was it a deliberate choice to remind Bloom that, while she is of royal lineage, she was raised on Earth. As if, to make her look less than she is? I might be reaching, but it came to me while I was reading, so here I am🩵

Have the winx unlocked anything over enchantix? Or has it not happened (btw what season does the fic take place in?)
Aside from Bloom all of them have Enchantix. I dipped my toes into the additional transformations by lore dropping. See the Lynphea chapter for Willows Will (which in canon is Butterflix)
But I won't really go into detail on them.

Teaser/ Animation for Chapter 53. of Oh Dragon Fly!
I have been sitting on this for over 2 years. Now mind you it's a bit out of date, since between making this animation and writing the actual chapter is a bit of time. But I still love it so much!
This is the first time I drew Bloom with her scars…(I have a wip somewhere with all her scars on display) btw.
The song is a nightwish version of "It took me by surprise" by Marina Mena.
I might redo it at one point…or at least clean it up a little bit, but well…no time and no enemies and no more capacity on my iPad…sadly…
