#i……… have just been hit square in between the eyes with the double meaning of her response #i cannot believe i could have been this stupid #initially read it as her telling him that she’s not like him she’s a loki that wouldn’t put someone else’s needs above her own #she needs to execute this plan to the end and that means she needs to be selfish like a true loki #whereas he is a variant of a loki because let us never forget that he technically is a variant because he was pulled #after the battle of new york and the original loki is currently going through his plot as god or kevin feige intented #ANYWHO so he is a variant of a loki that understood love and found selflessness within himself but that’s an exemption not a rule #WHAT I HAVE NOT CONSIDERED is the double or maybe actually the original meaning i don’t know #with him telling her he wants her to be okay and her telling hum but i’m not you #she wants to tell him she’s a separate person she’s not an extension of him she’s not a loki she’s sylvie now #and what she’s trying to tell him that doing this for her caring this much for her wellbeing doesn’t actually do him any good #it doesn’t concern him and won’t make HIM okay by extension because they’re not the same person #to remind him or rather prove to him that maybe these feelings only happened because he was confused and fell in love #with a reflection of himself and therefor it wasn’t real #IT DOESNT MATTER THOUGH BECAUSE THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT #initially he fell in love with a loki but it only proved that he was capable of caring like that for another person at the expense #of his own safety and happiness and it has never happened before #does this dual meaning make sense?#sylki #loki

#lokis secretly hating themselves and actually loving the other loki #and through that understand they’re actually worthy of love too #the fact that it goes both ways #also the fact that in a way sylvie is way more of a loki than this loki is because she actually betrayed him #and he did something that loki typically wouldn’t do which was put someone else above himself #but just the fact that he found her so perfect when he found himself so flawed #and she seeing him and understanding lokis were capable of love and change and something more than fighting for survival #sylki #loki

i believe non-autistic/neurotypical people will never get the almost narcotic dopamine high of getting into a new hyperfixation and feeling it seeping into your personality and genuinely feeling transformed into this thing from now on

It haunts me but also there’s just something about the way she pulls back like. there was so much force in that swing! a lifetime of fury and desperation and pain and rage and she manages to stop! she manages to catch it!! for him!!!

#i was actively crying during this scene #this was probably loki’s first time trying to be selfless and it felt like watching a child share their chocolates #he wanted to do something nice and wasn’t really sure how but that didn’t matter because for her he would try #even if it was such a small silly thing but for him to give up even a tiny bit of his comfort for someone else #i’m kinda losing my mind over this #sylki #loki

LOKI 2021 | The Nexus Event

#the nexus event that shook the multiverse was not actually two variants existing at the same time within the same universe #it was a loki loving someone other than himself #and that someone was actually himself #the sweet paradox of this entire thing is making me weak in the knees #he’s not used to truly caring for someone to admitting it to thinking about someone other than himself #and the fact that he understands how it changes everything now #and as scared and probably embarrassed he is he knows he has to tell her #there’s no room for hesitation and secrecy because it’s so important #the way he touches her so gently like she’s something precious because to him she is #sylki they made you happen and then they didn’t know what to do with you #and i completely understand that changing the plot of the tv show into this dramatic romance story wasn’t the way to go #that’s not what loki is about that’s just the catalyst for his character development and change #but dear lord a little more than a crumb would have been amazing #sylki #loki

I think part of why the “fixing broken things is hard” theme of s2 falls flat for me personally is that it works fine when applied to people. like. working on yourself is hard. redemption is hard. hard and messy and takes a lot of patience and forgiveness. but try and apply this theme to the TVA, as an entity, as an organisation, and it just feels kinda weird. the TVA of season one wasn’t broken. it was doing exactly what it was meant to do and doing it splendidly, with the only real hiccup, being Sylvie, being actively monitored by the guy behind the curtain. the TVA of s1 wasn’t broken, it was fundamentally wrong. so, the TVA of s2, then. is that TVA broken? it’s trying something new, to protect, rather than destroy, which is making it physically broken, because it was never designed for this (hence the beloathed Loom plot), and Dox thinks its ideologically broken, because they’ve deviated so far from what they were founded to do, from what she still thinks they’re supposed to do, because she’s resistant to change, to new ways of doing this, to deviating from what she’s been told is the only way. She could have been an interesting foil to Loki and Mobius’s desire to reshape the TVA if she’d been utilised fully. anyway I digress. the TVA of season 2, to me, isn’t broken. Loki is certainly trying to “fix” it, trying to make it better, but how can you fix something that was fully designed this way? It’s like taking a sword, a weapon meant for ending lives, and saying, this is bad, what this is doing, it’s broken, I can fix it. it’s not broken. it’s doing exactly what it was made to do. I mean I guess theoretically you can take it and try and use it positively, to protect rather than destroy, but at the end of the day it’s still a sword. just because you’ve decided you’re going to use it to defend rather than destroy doesn’t stop it from being a sword. like. it’s still a sword. it’s not broken. the TVA is still a sword. they don’t destroy it like they said they were going to and they don’t ‘fix it’ because it’s not broken and they can’t use it without accepting its nature and its nature is that it undermines the very idea of free will. its still a sword. its just being used in a different way. it’s still a sword. does this make sense
