SEASON 4 IS A NEED.
Marvel better speedrun that Wiccan show cuz I want mother and son back rn, trauma bonding over dark magic and gay jokes, sharing sappy anecdotes from WandaVision and clocking that there's a wholeass prophecy in the Darkhold about Billy becoming THE Demiurge at his full potential, like Wanda becomes Scarlet Witch. Oh the lore is rich and ready to be devoured!
Agatha Harkness raising The Demiurge with warmth and gay jokes would be so ✨ICONIC✨
They’re doing Young Avengers, not a solo Wiccan show. Q4 2025 is when AAA 2 is starting.
AAA 2 fits more with the Wiccan show, while YA remains for later. Either way, Billy & Agatha are coming back, where i believe, they grow closer over the course of the show, helping each other reach their conclusion- Billy overcoming his identity crisis+tapping into demiurge potential before doomsday & Agatha getting resurrected by him into her full potential or moving on to Afterlife with Rio & (finally facing) Nicky, which she earned by loving and helping Billy all the way through.
Seeing where they left us, for the first time in history, Agatha Harkness is without an ulterior motive at the back of her robe, she is simply & honestly, a mother who nurtures, though with a lot of mischief and 48488458 gay jokes.
Billy at 16, is compelled to step up & own insane potential that Wanda lends him, for he knows that the only way ahead is for him to grow into himself. He will root for Wanda to have her chance at redemption too❤💙
Nick and Charlie, each wearing the other's t-shirt! OMG I'M DYING 🤯🩵🍂🏳️🌈
Billy bringing out Mama Agatha is so dear to me. The conviction of it alone stands out bcoz Kathryn delivers heartache so well, but knowing how Agatha's pain about Nicky's passing is the ONE thing that drives her through & through, how she puts up a calculated & menacing front all the time to never deal with her pain and then goes about comitting selfish & harmful acts....now seeing Agatha react viscerally to Billy, seeing how she starts reeling & shedding that mask immediately, inspiring emotion so unlike her usual self that the novelty of it stands out. This REALLY speaks for the character, it's depth, her warmth:) elevated by Kathryn's conviction & Joe's sunshine face(& Billy's actions).
What happens next is pretty simple. Agatha still can't face Nicky. Rio tries to reason, she does her best to follow Agatha but Agatha deflects. She can't deal with her immense pain head on. Assisting Billy with her expertise in the craft, gay jokes & warmth included, then seeing him grow into himself might facilitate just that change.
Billy's warmth, his naive sincerity, him being a magic nerd & a child made from scratch, him surviving his fate and realising his powers with her help, THAT is bound to inspire growth in Agatha, making her heart full and offering her one of the two conclusions- resurrection with YA or F4 or afterlife with Nicky & Rio.
Wiccan Show with Billy & Agatha as it's emotional core, is a NEED. I need to see these characters grow further before they're put in ensembles.
"i dont wanna go back in the closet" billy the comedian that you are
Ok my billy thoughts after yesterdays ep
The William/ billy thing is definitely not like the comics and IMO does harm the character. I get why doing the "he was always like this" thing was too complicated for a tv show (and one they haven't even introduced mephisto in yet) but i would prefer it if he kept his memories of being a kaplan and was just... Different. And could read peoples minds.
However i do have hope that this can go well. I don't think that the end conclusion for his character is going to be "im not related to the kaplans im billy maximoff and fuck this random jewish family". I mean. The only thing he remembers are Tommy and his 3 years with the kaplans. When he told Eddie he wasnt William kaplan he didn't fully say "im not that dude at all who tf is that even" he said hes something "more" and "not entirely." Yes, he comes to the revelation that he is billy maximoff. Whoever if were talking writing, i dont think that the personality crisis ends there for him. Billy is an important character in the show. He has 3 more eps left and unlike characters like alice and jen who allredy found what theyre looking for on the road, he is still actively walking it in search of his goal. There is still development to be had for this character. He didn't just solve his entire internal conflict in episode 2- everything about the way he behaves after that episode shows hes still conflicted as fuck. Yes, he knows where he comes from, but he doesn't really know yet what it means about him as a person. He knows he is billy maximoff, but he doesn't know what being billy maximoff means.
And then we get into the subject of Tommy.
Listen, all writing rules say that there is no magic rock at the end of the road making wishes come true. They get what they're missing (NOT what they're looking for) as they walk the road. If the person writing this knows what they're doing, Tommy isn't going to randomly appear at the end of the road. Billys want for Tommy isnt just the cute brotherly bond- it is his want to belong and really have that sense of certainty and security of who he is. His arc isn't over yet, and thats why he keeps walking the road- he still has that want for belonging and knowing how to live as who he truly is. So. I think that at the end of the road he is either-
1. Realise he has something important with rebecca and jeff, embrace being their son with being a maximoff and live happily ever after as a nice jewish witch boy.
2. Get William kaplans memories
3. Be left on an open note and have his arc completed in another marvel show or movie
Anyway i think if top 2 happens he is going to start going by billy kaplan, showing him reaching a place of fully being comfortable with his identity and knowing who he is and where he belongs. Which will also tie him to comic billy.
However. That is what would have happened if i would be writing the show. That is the progression i would give his character. Everyone on the show is doing a really goor job, but i just can't forget that they are the same people who seemingly wrote in a fan favorite character with huge implications and then said "ha that wasn't real heres a bunch of dick jokes."
Anyway i hope they don't fuck this shit up.
A bunch of really cool details from the episode:
- the dogs name is greg. As in greg norris??????? That is funny as fuck
- billys parasha is about the death of nadav and avihu- the sons of aharon. There is a lot more detail you can go into with this. Its really good symbolism. It also means we can semi accurately track his hebrew and gregorian birthday. Oh the things i am too lazy to do.
- they are reallllllllly walking the line with this eddie dude. I feel like if the fans like him they're going "ha eddie is just another nickname for theodore say hi to teddie altman" and if not they're giving them an off screen break up and just saying billy has a type.
- Agathas boner family reunion shirt lmao
Agatha after escaping the mud.
except this was absolutely not the case. I don't quite love how this fandom has been missing out on Agatha's nuance lately for stan wars and ships. (Not directed at you OP, take it in a general sense)
Agatha knows she is at fault for loosing control and taunting him. She can see that Alice's death was a deal breaker for Billy, which after ep 6 becomes more apparent bcoz you can tell just he is, like Lilia suggested, just a good egg:)
Billy's identity crisis with being Kaplan or Maximoff and his moral conscience about being a good person/witch gives him the complexity that Agatha recognizes and tries to convince him that it's okay to be unapologetically formidable, but Billy won't have it. He is GOOD. He's gonna have to defend that.
Except when he explicitly said that he is not that nice, which was cunty but doesn't add up with what i think his journey would be.
Eitherway, i think this is their endgame:
Kids are supposed to be better than the shadow that their parents cast over them.
Billy believing in being good & actively fighting his own conscience to figure who he is & what his purpose is, will inspire growth in Agatha. That's his trial. She gets a son in him, he gets a mentor.
I find this scene so adorable and funny
Billy: I need to tell you something
Eddie: I need to tell you something
Billy: Yeah me first
AGATHA & WICCAN
Why is everyone freaking out about the "fandom splitting"? Like, some people enjoy some aspects of the show more than others, there doesn't need to be a war over this? It's okay for people to be disappointed that a side ship got more attention than the main ship in one episode, and it's okay for people to be excited about that side ship. You can like the fact that an important character got a cool backstory and be bummed that the main character got less screen time, they're not mutually exclusive. And even if you're only here for Billy or you're only here for Agatha or you're only here for Aubrey Plaza (guilty) (not really, but kind of), it's okay that other people aren't? And dividing the fandom into "misogynists who only watch for the white male superhero" and "toxic lesbians who hate anything that isn't explicitly about their ship", to quote Daniel Sousa, isn't accurate or nice. I'm feeling attacked for liking Wiccan and for being disappointed at the lack of lesbianism in the last episode lol. Everyone chill, I promise you'll feel better
Okay I’m lowkey excited to see everyone in witch cosplay next episode
Sameee
"I'll see you at the end" and Billy's looking for Tommy... WHAT IF HE LITERALLY SINGS THE BALLAD AISBSJANDJAS I NEED JOE LOCKE TO SING THE BALLAD IN THE SHOW NOW--
Thankyou.
Let's talk about the fact that the soul we're talking about is THE demiurge.
Yeah i believe it's gonna be William Kaplan + Billy Maximoff gives Billy Kaplan. Yeah he's getting ALL his memories back! Poor boy has been through ENOUGH of this identity crisis(and he will go through it MORE in ep 8)
oh my god. fucking hell.
billy maximoff or william kaplan or billy kaplan or whoever the fuck you are just know that i love you with my life
and joe locke, you’re hot and you know it, don’t you?
in all our excitement over billy, i just want to take a moment to like.
think about the tragedy of billy kaplan.
another kid who died indirectly because of wanda, while she was literally letting the hex collapse, while she was literally letting her own family die (or so she thought).
but this isn't a post about wanda.
this is a post about billy kaplan, age thirteen, who died.
his parents get their son back, but they don't. because he died but something else lives in his body now.
and isn't this such a beautiful analogy for trauma and how it can sometimes make us into people we weren't before. it isn't the same. it isn't! because one billy died. one billy still died. but no one knows other than the billy who took his place.
And the other Billy is still tryna figure out who he really is, probably an amalgamation of both.
