Aww thank you so much ☺️ It means a lot that you liked my writing enough to check in. Alas, I don't currently have any Hayffie fics planned (or really any fics. it's been pretty hectic around here lately. All good stuff though!)

But! my local bookstore is running a Hunger Games reread book club, one book a month leading up to the sotr movie. Of course I couldn't say no to that! We just did Catching Fire, and it's been really cool to revisit the series in a book club setting. Which is to say I've been thinking about some of the one shot wips I started last year. There are a few I'd like to finish and post eventually.

What's Between Us was pretty much my Hayffie thesis, but it didn't start out that way! So if you have any prompts to want to throw my way I can't make any promises, but I'd definitely give them a thoughtful chew, haha.

The reveal of how Effie got involved with Haymitch, and by extension, District Twelve, is actually so funny. Like this poor woman helped her baby sister with her schoolwork ONE TIME and it spiraled into Effie literally getting accused of helping to start a revolution that eventually killed the president.

There's something so sweet and sad about the fact that the first question Peeta asks Katniss to establish genuine friendship is "what's your favourite colour?", which is a pretty typical childish question. It shows that they really are still so young.

Katniss and Peeta both being the opposite of what they had growing up.

Peeta having an abusive and overall cruel mother, but holding onto his genuine kindness in the most horrific of circumstances, always seeing the humanity in the people around him, making sure to never lose his love for the brave, strong, kind girl with two braids and beautiful voice even when the world tried to turn him against her at every turn. Peeta, who always something kind or comforting to keep the people around him going when the future looks its most grim.

Katniss, who wasn’t looked after or protected by her family or community after losing her father, protecting her little sister’s well being and innocence like it’s the only thing she has to live for. Her finding a little girl while in the death arena who reminds her of her sister-and maybe a little bit of herself-and caring for her until she takes her last breath. Finding the boy she entered the arena with and protecting him at risk to her own life several times over. Always providing, nurturing and protecting at every chance she gets.
