Poem: It Rained Today
It rained today, and I wondered
Where I was in the universe,
A speck on a speck on another,
Wishing not to be washed away.

Poem: Gingerbread Man
In the summertime, I bake
a gingerbread man with a bow tie.
His smile is far too bright and wide,
with three eyes by mistake.
My gingerbread is out of season,
made far after the holidays.
Heâs out of hand and out of date,
a Frankenstein without good reason.
Exposed to the warm sun by his creator,Â
his gooey smile melts to a scowl,
an icing expression turned most foul;
I canât control the weather.
My crispy treat is out of season,
near and dear to me when he was made
and in the pits of my stomach left to fade,
condemned to this fate without good reason.

I haven't posted in a while, but I've still been writing poetry :) This week, I wanted to share this lighthearted poem about baking winter cookies in the "wrong" season. I hope you enjoy reading!
Poem: The Riverbank (Excerpt)
When I stood up by the riverbank,
the world shifted around me.
The water had moved on from here
and would not be returning,
witnessed by my eyes alone,Â
flowing ever-slow and ongoing.

Nine People You Want To Get To Know Better
Thanks to @inkovert tagging me!
Current Book Im Reading: Right now i'm reading blogs (work related stuff) and webtoons. I have this chronic problem of being unable to put down a book until its done. Thankfully i'm a fast reader, but when I'm really busy i cant afford to take the risk that my lizard brain will be hijacked entirely by the novel đĽ˛
Last Song i Listened too: oh. Synthwave boi from the Lofi Girl 24/7 live streams. My homie. That and the Wicked musical album, good memories, and some powerful messages.
Currently Watching: Definitely more gamer than TV watcher, but did just finish season 1 of The Diplomat on Netflix and it was pretty good.
Current Fic: Nothing presently but i probably read all the TOTK ones on Ao3 when i finished the game. (Post game depression hits hard my dudes).
Next on my Watch List: TV wise itll be whatever pops up. Game wise probably Skyword Sword or maybe the Witcher.
Current Obsession: oh my wip definitely. Very close to finishing the rewrite and looking forward to being able to shop betas and professional editors. Soooo if anybody knows anybody? Lol

Poem: Going Ghost
No wind brings whispers of love and beauty--
my own shivers in the cold are all that move me.
Iâm going ghost in the midnight hours,
a new-born vampire when I look in the mirror.
I sit with faceless fuzzy creatures and a can of fizzy water,
having a name and face and being someoneâs daughter,
in good company through this blanching night--
a place to be and sit awhile, to make myself alright.

Poem: Fixing
I donât want to chop my hair off;
I donât want to sweep the floor.
Years-old strategies for fixing me
arenât fitting anymore.
Find a new job and new wardrobe
to suit up my older self.
Grow my hair out. Make new friends.
Light a candle. Make a mess.
When I whittled myself down for weeks,
who but I should wield the broom
to brush away the parts Iâve shed
and build myself anew?

Poem: Little River Love
A Haiku
little river love,
we adore your flow while you
reflect skies above

Poem: Coffee Bean
A coffee beanâs crunch lies
beneath a chocolate coating;
one bite brings a burst of bitterness
before the sweetness sinks in.

Poem: Sugar Rush
A spell of syrup
at the bottom of a cup â
a rush of nausea at
a sudden sugar blast â
I wash down coffee
with a wave of taking
too much on at once:
too much of a sugar rush.
j.p
Poem: Caramel
A thousand shades of caramel
waft inward with the wind
as your melting chocolate locks
drip their sugar down your skin.

Poem: Solo
She danced around the room,
looking people in the eyes
as she twirled past them,
never meeting the same gaze
twice. In the flashing lights,
spinning late into the night,
she was untouchable,
her tears dripping like sweat,
catching light like diamonds,
slipping, unseen, to the ground
as she kept gliding forward,
spinning late into the night.

Poem: Pink Lemonade
You poured out your pink lemonade
and placed the glass inside the sink,
where the faucet rained down on it
and washed the memory away
of puckered lips and the sour kiss
between you and that cold bottle.

Poem: Coffee Date
For once, Iâd like to love you
in a typical way, weekends
with planned coffee dates
in picture-perfect cafes,
where the pink walls match
the rosy tint of my view
of you, leaning forward
from your pillowed rattan chair,
beige as the pastries we share
to indulge in the sweetnessÂ
of pastry scents filling the air
between us, the mood pink
and soft and pure like you
with those three packets
of sugar you always stir
into your lattes, welcomingly
warm like your laughter,
carried by the breeze as it floats
through the open windows,
gently welcomed by our lungs.

A little river
flows my way, and gently floods
my heart with calm waves.
