R had wandered far from his airport home. he told himself it was to look for food, but really he just wanted to try to watch the living. Their determination fascinated the zombie.

‘They try so hard to stay living, I don’t see what’s so wrong with being dead, well, besides not knowing who you use to be, or the seemingly never ending hunger..or the fact that most of the time you spend the day wandering past each other, not reaching out for a conversation besides the occasional grunt.’

The corpse hid behind a broken down rusty truck and stared at the tall city walls, where they keeping him out? or keeping the living in? ‘More then likely a mixture of both.’

Silently cursing herself, Julie pushed herself up off the ground slowly and breathed heavily again. She supposed she had to return to her ‘safe haven’, her shelter under lock and key. Why couldn’t she just be happy that she was still alive? So what if she was under a constant dark cloud of monotony  None of those things seemed to matter though. 

The dust the clung to her clothes was brushed off by both the breeze and her hands and Julie scanned the baron landscape, just to be safe. But she wasn’t safe. There was movement. She scowled, her heart rate quickening. She had no gun. Shit. She didn’t need this, to be stalked by a corpse when she shouldn’t even be out in the first place. Whatever the hell it was, it was getting closer and she was as unprotected as a clawless cat. What the fuck can I do?!

R peaked around the car, watching the young girl look scared.

Wow.

That was the only thing he thought when he saw her, she was absolutely breathtaking, not that breath was required for the corpse anyways. He looked up as another dead began to lumber towards her. The only thoughts running through R's head was protecting the blonde, keeping her safe from that attacking zombie. he ran over and shoved the other out of the way before slamming his head into the ground a few times before looking up at her and standing, fixing his jacket and looking at her. "Don't.......be.......scared......"

R blinked at the pen cap, the gears in his head slowly beginning to turn. “Name…..Blue?….like….Sky?” He asked, looking back up at the sky then to the cap, and then the girl. “Name….is…..R..”
