I kinda hate them. For not caring. For being unappreciative. For not seeing my worth. And I hate it. I hate it so bad. But I should know better. This is my own pride, my own self/flesh speaking. I should know better than to expect something in return. In this life, even God has promised that we will experience troubles of all kind. Most of the times, the enemy would even use those people whom you care for. As it was said in Luke 6:35, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back”. Although technically speaking they aren’t literally my enemies, but they are however still unbelievers. It’s normal to expect something back in return from them. I’m just human. I yearn to be respected, looked upon on, honored, etc. Yes, I am human. But what makes me different from all the other bunch is that I’m a Christian. And Christians do not need to yearn for human praises and on earthly things. For it is written in Philippians 3:20, “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”. What we have to focus on is not the prize we’ll receive on earth, but we have to set our sights on the prize we’ll receive from above- and that is eternal life. What we must yearn for is of heaven for that is where our true citizenship really lies. Life isn’t complicated when we focus on Jesus. It does however get confusing and out of hand when we concentrate on what we feel, what we want and in our own plans. Proverbs 16:9 “the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” Think not of what this world can offer you, Jamie. But focus on what God will offer you in heaven as you do his mandate to the “unlovables” of this world. Remember Luke 15:7, “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” This is your mandate. This is the great commission Jesus has spoken of. It is to direct all sinners, all unbelievers to God. To speak of Jesus to them through us. Through how we live our lives, which must be honorable to God. It is hard and there will be TONS of heartbreaks along the way. But remember that through these situations, God will mold you. God will humble you. He will keep your feet grounded by reminding you of His power. Of how great His plans are in your life when you stop trusting yourself and start trusting in HIM. “God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.” And you are that kind of person. There may be more things in your life which needs to be changed, but don’t worry about that. It’s God’s job to change you. AND HE WILL CHANGE YOU FOR HIS PURPOSE. Trust His ways for His ways are always better than yours:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
