OLIVE KIM+ "but i like to think i can cheat it all. to make up for the times i've been cheated on. and it's nice to know when i was left for dead, i was found and now i don't roam these streets. i am not the ghost you want of me" Hello! ìë ! My name is Olive Kim, like what those letters up there say, in case you can't read. I'm 21 and a kindergarten teacher raised in New York, but now settling in the cute town of New Quinton. I'm gay as hell, and can eat my weight in strawberries. If I'm not dancing in my free time assume I'm incapacitated. I love my kiddos with my whole heart. I don't know where I would be without them, and I'm thankful they teach me every day. That's all I got, feel free to talk to me, I don't bite. Even though I've been told I look like a bunny.
Charlie shook her head, leaning back against the fence. âItâs like people donât have any sense anymore. This is a family neighborhood, take that loud business somewhere else.â
âI wouldnât even mind the noise if it was like... consecutive fireworks and I could expect it, but right now theyâre just loud every fifteen minutes and itâs broad daylight.â
âListen, baby, this is America and itâs our birthday. If I wanna light this whole bitch on fire right now in the middle of the day, I will.â He took a swig of the PBR in his hand. âYou need to lighten up, we got beer over there. Come hang out. Make some friends with your neighbors.â
âI mean you can do what you want but it seems wasteful. Whereâs all the colors? Thereâs no fun in just the noise.â She gave a small shrug before letting out a sigh. âI wouldnât want to intrude. Are you sure?â
âI hate the Fourth of JulyâI mean, Iâm all about being patriotic and shit but fireworks have definitely almost set my trailer on fire. People have zero self-control.âÂ
âOof, thatâs rough. I hope it doesnât take too much damage this year. I wish people would pay attention to their surroundings.â
âI wouldâve totally done fireworks if my girl let me. I used to set off fireworks all the time so Iâve been in their shoes before. Maybe theyâre too lame to know how to set off a bunch. I can tell âem to fuck off if you want. I like doiong that.â
âFuck off is a little strong. I was thinking more along the lines of âAre you shooting off fireworks or not?â because this every fifteen minutes thing is so bad for my anxiety.â
âTheyâll be done by, what, the first of August? Then weâll have a few months before they start doing the same routine for New Yearâs. Itâs almost like a never-ending cycle.â
âGod, donât even remind me. Iâm just glad it wasnât that bad this year. I donât know if I could have dealt with it.â
âYouâre speaking my language. People start settinâ that shit off before July even starts.â He sighed, shrugging. âI guess they have to get their kicks somehow, right?â
âRight? I donât even like fireworks, theyâre way too loud, and for what!? Theyâve been doing this since like June 20th, too. Donât they have any other way to find something exciting to do!?â
âActually, my friends are treated like the fucking Kings and Queens they are because they are literal gifts to this Earth. Everyone else? canât be bothered with yâall.âÂ
âWell I stand corrected. Maybe thereâs more than I assumed. But really, a pretty girl like yourself shouldnât be so rude. It distracts from your face.â
âLook, I understand itâs the Fourth of July and everything, but if youâre going to shoot off fireworks, you should at least wait until itâs dark out. Not to mention youâre only shooting them off one per every fifteen minutes. Come on, do you want a show or not?â
Annabel smirked when the words âyour highnessâ fell on her ears, no matter how sarcastic they may have been. âMm, no. I donât expect anything. I demand it and I get it. Thatâs how things work in this town. Iâm sure youâll catch on.âÂ
âYou know you make way more friends being kind than demanding things. I wonder how many of your royal subjects secretly despise you and your sour attitude.â A small shrug leaves Oliveâs shoulders before she turns to sit at the table.Â
Having long hair again is the weirdest feeling. But the great thing about it is that it confuses the hell out of people because they donât recognize me anymore.
I feel you, I cut my hair to my shoulders recently and now everyone acts like Iâm a different person. Itâs weird how much hair can affect stuff like that.
Ivy rolled her eyes playfully with an added scoff. âI suppose so.â She compromised. âIf fun is code for tacky.â The brunette teased, grinning a bit as she did. âI want something cool toned, something that doesnât scream at you, something that feels like home but without the warm tones.. you know?âÂ
âYou definitely asked the wrong person to come with you, then. I love colorful things... So I guess Iâll just choose the opposite of what I would use in my own apartent? Maybe thatâll work.â She picked up a tan pillow and showed it to the other girl. âLike this?â She lets out a small laugh before posing proudly.
Annabel took a step back and laughed in the other girls face when she said Anna was at fault. âYou clearly donât know who I am, so Iâll forgive you this once. But Iâm the richest and prettiest woman in New Quinton and nothing is my fault. Nothing.â She sneered while crossing her arms and shifting all her weight onto one foot. âAnd, really, if you were looking around you wouldnât have bumped into me as youâd have seen me. Iâll let it slide⊠this time. But you really should be more careful of your surroundings in the future.âÂ
âIâm sorry your highness. It wonât happen again.â Olive lets out a sarcastic curtsy. âYou took the corner about 90 miles an hour and expecting the world to revolve around you, but Iâm sorry again. Now if you excuse me, I have a job to get toâÂ
Iâll never get how they have so much energy. I think I loved naps when I was little. But then again I always liked things that most kids hated. I was an awesome kid. Donât remind me, she already wins everything. Alice in Wonderland? I dunno if Iâve ever seen that. I donât even know what itâs really about.
I wish I could take naps now, kids donât know how lucky they are. Iâm still a cool kid, I make my Kindergartners jealous with how cool I am. Alice in Wonderland is a classic you need to watch it right now! I love it a lot, but Tangled is still supreme.
