U can read the continuations of John's quest to find the gang after his big sleep here starting at chapter 3..

More insane side characters rdr1 style, of course ! ! ! chapter 3 is my favorite so far lol...

John isn't sure what to think about it anymore. How can a man sleep for 3 months and wake up to tell the tale? He wasn't any skinnier when he woke up. He didn't feel 3 months thirsty or 3 months hungry when he woke up either. Instead he felt like he had too much to drink 9 hours before. Maybe the hangover feeling was the result of long sleep rather than drunken reverie.

He polishes off the bottle of beer and sets it against the bar. "Another one, Mr. Bartender, Please."

Okay, chapter 2 of Rip Van Winkle is out! Rip Van Winkle CH.2 (AO3 Link) I've officially completed planning for this fic. There will be 26 chapters! John is up, about and fully aware after his 3-month nap now, and the rest of the narrative will unfold from here in third person. Overall, it's going to be Extremely Focused on John Marston Stepping Up (tm), and on Arthur and John's relationship with one another. I would say that their relationship is probably one of the most important aspects of the fic through to the end. There will be quite a few happy endings in this fic that were not afforded to characters in original canon, but trust me, none of them are undeserved happy endings... You know?

Okay, first chapter of my rdr2 fic, Rip Van Winkle is up!

In it, John Marston wakes up on that cliff by Colter after a very long nap, (Rip Van Winkle style!!) next to the rotting corpse of his horse, with no sign of the gang nearby. It's going to be heavily John-focused (obviously) and over time develop into what is hopefully an interesting reimagining of canon, complete with some new and very deserved happy endings!
