werewolf starters
** PACK DYNAMICS:
"I am the Alpha, and it is my duty to protect the pack and everyone in it."
"[She/he/they] are only the Alpha because their parents were."
"If I were the Alpha, I would've taken care of that trespasser months ago."
"You're the Beta. Alpha's pet is in your job description."
"Beta means second-in-command, not Alpha's glorified secretary or mindless drone."
"Are you challenging me for my position in the pack?"
"You want to be Alpha someday? You'll have to train harder than that."
"Ask your Alpha. You need [his/her/their] permission to do anything, right?"
"Pack politics are a giant pain in the ass. It's all posturing."
"Better watch yourself, pup. You're well on your way to becoming the next Omega."
"I've missed having an Omega to boss around."
** MATES:
"Even if you were the last [werewolf/person] on Earth, I still wouldn't want to be mated to you."
"I'm strictly hook-ups only. The idea of being permanently mated to one person is the stuff of nightmares."
"Ever heard of the guy who accidentally bonded to a human because [they/he/she] had a biting fetish? Idiot."
"Are you sure you want to be bonded to me?"
"Where do you want to take your mark?"
"I'm only doing this for our packs, got it?"
"I've wanted to be bonded to you for as long as I can remember."
"We're not mates."
"My ideal mate situation involves polyamory and matching bond-marks."
"[They/she/he] is/are looking at you like they want to mark you, or something. It's kind of creeping me out."
"Can you believe they're a mated pair?"
** SHIFTING:
"Is this your first time shifting? I remember my first time..."
"Listen, it doesn't hurt nearly as much as the movies or books make it seem. It doesn't feel great, either, but--."
"I always keep clothes on standby."
"Can't tell you how many outfits I've ruined from an accidental shift."
"Want to go for a run in the woods? I'm about to crawl out of my skin."
"Remember that time you shifted inside the bathroom at the McDonald's?"
"Your fur's looking a little shaggy. Ever considered a haircut?"
"Can I see you, uh, you know... shift?"
"What's it like? Shifting?"
"Your wolf looks nothing like you. How is that?"
** HUNTING/BEING HUNTED:
"I'm starving. Can we head out already?"
"I'll take point. Everyone else fall in behind me."
"Want to go for a hunt?"
"There's a hunter nearby."
"[Pack member] just took an arrow to the chest. We have to move out now!"
"The hunters know where we are. We either have to stand and fight or retreat and come up with a better plan."
"I'm not exactly interested in having my head on the end of a stake."
** TERRITORY:
"You're on [pack name] territory."
"You have five seconds to turn around and go back the way you came."
"You'll either leave, or I'll make you. Your choice."
"You're on enemy lands, and you expected to be welcomed with open arms?"
"Get. Out. Now."
** LONE WOLVES:
"Packs were never really my thing."
"I was born into a pack, but I left. End of story."
"The last thing I'm interested in is having an entire group of people constantly in my business and an Alpha up my ass."
"I can take care of myself, thanks."
"If I wanted to play house, I'd find an abandoned log cabin."
"I was in a pack once. I don't miss it."
"I'm fine on my own. I like the freedom."
"I was born into a pack, but I left. End of story." - okamiwanderer (hi idk if u remember me, but we had an rp ages ago ;v;)
“ Mh… So ya’re like me… I had the same story.. And Ya wanna join me? It will just be the two of us then . “ He replied, not being very impressed about the other.
(omg hay! how are ya!)
@okamiwanderer
“I suppose so. Safety in numbers, isn’t it?”, he looked over to Jesse, frowning slightly at the seeming apathy he seemed to have for him - not that he really minded, he was used to it at this point. “Besides, with the nearby pack it’s better not to be alone, I do not have a death wish yet.”, that was a lie, he absolutely had a death wish but was too prideful to just be killed by anyone.
“ ya right, guess two is better then one huh? ” he asked, looking at the other"guess we both dont have a death wish, i wouldnt mind teamin’ up with ya “
@okamiwanderer
"Exactly. Besides, it means neither of us will have to sleep with one eye open.", he replied, shifting the bag on his back. "We should get moving, I would prefer the pack not picking up our scent.", he looked around, wary of their surroundings already. He was a paranoid man, but that paranoia had kept him alive for so long.

"..... You're still mad about me dying for a while there, huh?", Hanzo's ear flicked, quietly (and VERY carefully) scooching over to the pouting sun goddess. "If it's any consolation I didn't mean to get shot in the throat." - okamiwanderer (ayy im not dead)
@okamiwanderer
“…There had been just enough time, Hanzo…” Not so much mad, as just pouty. Lonely. He hadn’t been gone as long as she usually was when her body died…but it had still left them all to a degree of restlessness. Probably because of her, more than anything. It’s hard to wait peacefully when one of the pack won’t stop pacing.
“I know you think that there is no problems in dying, when you’ll simply be brought back again, as all kami are…but I wish you’d at least try. Value the body you have. Don’t waste it time and time again on the idea that you will always return. “….What if one of those days, you don’t? A rare occurrence, but possible…”
He listened to her words, frowning a little at the sadness in them. "... I apologize.", he moved closer to her, arms gently wrapping around her, pulling her close. "It is.. a habit, to be so used to death it feels more like an inconvenience.", he tried to thibk on how to word his feelings correctly - one drawback of meaning every word he said; he was very careful on his choice of words.
"I will try to improve on that. The way I understand it, I won't permanently die until I fulfill some sort of purpose, what that purpose might be though is beyond me.", he frowned, unsure if he got his point across. "I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I did not mean to upset you, and I will try to make it up to you in any way you see fit."
okamiwanderer:
“What can I say, I have a habit of bottling things up”, his smile widened into a toothy grin, fangs glinting faintly i the moonlight. He tilted her head up with one hand, cupping her cheek in his palm as he pressed their lips together once again - this kiss being much softer, much more loving, than the one they shared before.
Despite the gentle slide of their lips there was still that underlying hunger for more. It wasn’t something he’d admit to, but that didn’t stop him from acting on it, his other hand that had previously been gripping Amaterasu’s shoulder moving to settle on her hip instead.
That gets a small, gentle laugh from her, head shaking just slightly in playful disappointment, nose rubbing against Hanzo’s own. It was…actually kind of funny that ever since the marketplace incident, tension had filled the house, but now… It was gone; simply dissipated away, now replaced with affection and a quite literal warmth… Amaterasu doesn’t just blush, after all. Get her flustered enough and temperatures will quite literally rise.
She sighed softly as their lips met again, the affection clear…just as much as his ache. Her hand shifted from it’s light spot on his ribcage, to trailing up to rest instead on his chest. A way to knowingly teasing him? Possibly. It’s hard to know with Amaterasu and being the sneaky wolf she was, she’d rarely- if ever- confess to intentions she desired to keep hidden.
After all, the people were right to say mystery was it’s own fun.
He hummed against her lips, smiling into the kiss. He held the kiss for a little longer before shifting to start pressing kisses along her jawline and neck, noting every little spot that made Amaterasu gasp and shiver. His fangs grazed along her skin, nipping along the spots he had so carefully mapped out to be sensitive.
"Just tell me if I need to back off.", he said before his lips sealed against her skin, worrying the skin between his lips and fangs, working hickeys working onto her neck. There was a constant low rumble deep in his chest, making it painfully obvious how possessive and protective he felt at the moment, one arm wrapped around her waist while the other hand rested on her hip.
okamiwanderer:
He quietly washed up after their meal, sighing to himself as he shook his head. He knew he was making things weird, and he had to do something about it.
He tried to think of a way to make things less awkward between them, but couldn’t come up with anything. He ended up so frustrated with himself that, by the end of the day, he snapped.
He thought ‘fuck it’, had grabbed Amaterasu’s shoulder, pinning her against the wall and pressing his lips to hers, holding the kiss until his lungs were screaming for air. When he finally broke the kiss he leaned their foreheads together, a small smile on his face when Amaterasu didn’t push him away. “Looks like we’ve been dancing around this for far too long, hm?”
The sun had sunk beneath the mountains in the distance, yet concern for her…friend kept her awake and pacing. Something should be able to be done, right? So why did the answer only just avoid her? So after a bit more pacing, the only result she could start with was to slip out for a walk and see if nature could give her the inspiration she so desperately needed.
She hadn’t expected to see Hanzo on her way out, but before she could think to tell him she was going to head out for a moment, he suddenly had her pinned against the wall and lips to hers. Her eyes had closed almost automatically, a hand reaching up to touch his side…and once the whole situation had settled into her head? Well, of course she gave in, her own lips pressing closer to his, though certainly with less of the pent-up aggression Hanzo had started them off with.
By the time he’d pulled away, the goddess’ face had become blushed, sighing deeply once she remembered- oh, yes- breathing was a thing. At some point, it seems like she’d forgotten to…
She peered up at him, a small smile of her own growing on her own face upon seeing his. An…unconventional way of settling his agitation, but if it worked, who was she to judge? Besides…. It wasn’t like she had a mind to turn his affections away; if anything she was more than happy to accept them.
“I don’t know for how long,” she said softly, smile widening just slightly. “For me, the change was subtle… Was yours less so, Hanzo~?”
"What can I say, I have a habit of bottling things up", his smile widened into a toothy grin, fangs glinting faintly i the moonlight. He tilted her head up with one hand, cupping her cheek in his palm as he pressed their lips together once again - this kiss being much softer, much more loving, than the one they shared before.
Despite the gentle slide of their lips there was still that underlying hunger for more. It wasn't something he'd admit to, but that didn't stop him from acting on it, his other hand that had previously been gripping Amaterasu's shoulder moving to settle on her hip instead.
okamiwanderer:
“You should have seen Kiyoshi, he was even worse than Yuzuki, but I managed to get him to stop the mooching for the most part.”, the younger wolf still tried to mooch off of breakfast every so often.
He flipped the chicken again, leaving it to sizzle for a little longer before scooping it out of the pan and onto the plate with salad on it, getting the vegatables out as well, brushing his hair back as he got their meals ready, bringing that out to the plate before getting the kettle as well - it had begun whistling when he came back into the kitchen, grabbing two cups as well.
But, even as they ate he was a little somber, still agitated from the market incident. His protective instincts were at an all time high, and at the back of his mind there was the instinct of pinning her to the wall, get his scent on her, and mark her up with hickeys so that everyone that tried to get handsy with her would know not to lest they wanted his wrath.
“As long as you think you can break the habit later…but that’s on you,” she assured sternly, a teasing lit in her voice all the same. What he sows, he shall reap. The most she’d do is offer advice… Otherwise, it’ll be all Hanzo working to fix a habit he instilled in a pup in the first place.
Her gaze lingered on him quietly, a ghost of a smile on her lips at watching him focus on his cooking, the simple action of him brushing his hair back. Really…. She had gotten in too deep here, hadn’t she? Once a wanderer of her homeland, intruding on their home by hearing the familiar cry of wolves…and now here she is, practically at home with them and watching the wolves’ leader with an affection in her dark eyes.
Oh, what times can do to a person, no matter who they are….
Dinner was delicious, but uncharacteristically silent. Even with how much she loved food, Amaterasu always made sure to have a pleasant conversation going, but… Hanzo still looked displeased as he ate, brows furrowed just enough to make it obvious and even his muscles ripping in what must be because he was getting too into his head… What was bothering him so much? Was it really because of that handsy perv from the market? Was there more to it?
It was becoming a little distressing, trying to figure out a way to soothe whatever was making him so upset… What could be done that could make him content again? (And didn’t involve kissing him; for crying out loud, brain, be more reasonable than that, please!!)
In the end, though, nothing really came to mind that would’ve sounded like it’d be useful or very helpful by the end of the meal. Not even a second bowl had helped… Hmmph. She’d still try to figure out something decent to help him cool his head… There had to be something, right?
He quietly washed up after their meal, sighing to himself as he shook his head. He knew he was making things weird, and he had to do something about it.
He tried to think of a way to make things less awkward between them, but couldn't come up with anything. He ended up so frustrated with himself that, by the end of the day, he snapped.

okamiwanderer:
“Huh?”, he turned to Amaterasu when she spoke up. “Oh, no, the chopsticks broke… there must have been a weakness in the wood.”, a complete lie, he’s been using that pair of chopsticks to cook for a long time without any trouble.
He looked down when he felt Yuzuki’s paws at his ankle, causing him to chuckle. “Yuzu, you know you have to wait for dinner as well.” Yuzuki whines in reply. “… Fine, fine, you win.”, he gave her a small piece of cooked chicken, which seemingly made her content, flopping on her back, tail wagging.
He had already gotten a new pair of chopsticks to cook with, the smell of cooking chicken filling the room, as well as vegetables steaming away next to the pan, and a kettle of tea also cooking away. It was a light lunch, though definitely filling.
Her brows furrow, pouting slightly. Just like the smell of food in the air, she can easily detect the lies he tries to lay before her. She’s used them before, too. Loved them, because the wood was steady enough and made the most delightful clicking noise when tapped together. (A bad habit she’d picked up over time; clicking them was practically second nature and relaxing for her to keep focus on her work!)
“Hanzo!” At least she can focus on something else for now…but given the time, she’s going to get to the bottom of what made him snap the chopsticks into splinters. So chiding him for spoiling the pup? Oh, yes. “Don’t spoil her like that! You know she’s eventually going to grow up entitled to the scraps you give her ahead of the others…?” Amaterasu clicked her tongue disapprovingly, head shaking slowly.
My, my….. What ever was she going to do with this man? If he can’t handle a fluffy face, what other weakness are yet to be exploited? Can be a ferocious beast to a perverted man, but yet can’t make a pup wait just a little longer for everyone to have lunch…. Honestly.
They were gonna be lucky to have her around, at this rate. Hanzo would likely yet lose his rank to the pack via Yuzuki and despite the betrayal, Amaterasu would be chuckling the whole damn way cause she would’ve seen that coming miles off…!!

okamiwanderer:
He scoffed, ears flicking in agitation. He wasn’t happy leaving those that didn’t show Amaterasu the respect she deserved unpunished, but he also knew he was supposed to be above needless violence. He looked back to Amaterasu, sighing when she brushed her fingers against his back. He was still a little agitated, but forced himself to relax.
“Alright, alright. I’ll let it go for now. I will definitely be having a few choice words with whoever else tries to pull that with you. Call me protective, if you wish.”, he said, leaning backwards and pressing his back against Amaterasu’s hands. “At least we got what we needed at the market, it is my turn to cook after all”
Despite his words he stayed tense the entire time he cooked, eyebrows furrowed as the scene from back at the market kept replaying in his head. He only realized how tense he was when he snapped the ling chopsticks he had used to flip the chicken in the pan. “Kuso…”, he grumbled to himself, sighing as he placed the broken chopsticks aside, reaching to get a new pair.
“Then Protective you shall be,” Amaterasu teased lightly with a small hum. She (rather reluctantly) let him go off to cook, smile fading into a thoughtful little pout as her wrung her hands together as he slipped out of sight. This could…end up being problematic. Whether her thoughts were directed to the folly of those men that got too cozy with her too fast or the fact that day by day, the goddess was caring for her companion more and more… That was difficult to determine. All she could say for certain is that she was hesitant to admit herself and if the other males weren’t a problem, that certainly would be.
Tapping claws managed to snap Ammy out of her reverie, turning just in time to see Yuzuki slide a little on the floor as she ran, regain herself, and then bounce happily at the sun goddess’ feet. Even with the goddess kneeling down to give the eager, freshly awakened pup some attention, Amaterasu found herself having to hold onto Yuzuki, as she kept trying to wiggle away and into the kitchen… Likely to see if she could puppy-eyes any food from Hanzo.
“No, no, you… You must wait for food to be done, too,” Amaterasu chided warmly, nuzzling her face into the pup’s fur. Thinking that a distraction might be in order, she had begun to start leaving the room, but a quiet ‘snap’ of something wooden breaking had the goddess freezing and turning around immediately.
“Hanzo…? What happened?” Yuzuki was set on the floor where- as previously predicted- she’d gone running to Hanzo’s feet, tail wagging and eyes wide in hopes of a treat. “Is everything alright?”
"Huh?", he turned to Amaterasu when she spoke up. "Oh, no, the chopsticks broke... there must have been a weakness in the wood.", a complete lie, he's been using that pair of chopsticks to cook for a long time without any trouble.

Going into Hanamura’s market wasn’t an uncommon thing for Hanzo to do - even a god had to eat after all. But, he also brought Amaterasu with him a lot, since she enjoyed chatting with the locals so much.
But, apparently, it also pulled some unwelcome attention towards them. Such as women fawning over Hanzo and the fact he was well built from daily exericisd and a healthy diet, as well as men flirting with Amaterasu that went from light-hearted compliments to overtly sexual comments that made Hanzo’s blood boil with rage and (though he did not admit it) jealousy.
He had grown fond of Amaterasu in the time she spent at his castle, and had fallen for her hard, though he was unsure as to how to act on his feelings. He wasn’t anybody special - not in his own eyes - thus was heaistant on actually confessing his feelings.
Today had been a rather annoying day; a simple trip to the market to pick up fresh fruit and meat had turned into Amaterasu having to save Hanzo from a hoard of fawning women, and Hanzo nearly tearing out a man’s throat when he tried to get handsy with Amaterasu. He was still agitated about it, seeing as of Amaterasu hadn’t stopped him he would have torn the man’s hands off and then torn out his throat.
“I know I should calm down, but…”, he grumbled, glaring holes into the wall. “I should have killed him, let them know that kind of thing is not acceptable, especiallg when it comes to you.”, he briefly met Amaterasu’s gaze before he went back to glaring whilst avoiding eye contact.
The solar goddess sighed softly, pulling out the pins in her hair that had kept it up for their trip. It made her feel like she fit in more to do so, but… It probably didn’t help those who had far more lecherous thoughts in their mind when they saw her. Today especially, with that one… Handsy and his eyes trying to sneak a peek at the part of her kimono.
Honestly, she would’ve liked to have given him some injuries of his own, but all would’ve been emotional. Hanzo was more…physical in that aspect and though she appreciated the sentiment, beating someone up was surely no way to handle such a situation. (Saying of nothing of the ache that would spring up when she saw the women flock to him, oogling him so brazenly. For all the freedom she had, that was a level of openness still beyond her…and thus, likely why she hadn’t yet voiced a single breath of how much she’d grown to care for him as much as she had.)
“I know, Hanzo, but violence would have done little but sparked bitterness and fear,” she said, voice soothing in hopes that could settle his still bubbling anger. “I know it’s overwhelming, but there are some good people there… Most of all of them timid. For their sakes’ most especially, I want to keep violence to a minimum.” Placing the pins on the dresser, Amaterasu shook her hair out, sighing softly in the sweet relief of having her hair be freed of it’s restraints and feel so…natural.
She turned to Hanzo with that done, going over to him and stroking his back. “After all, I don’t want to maul the girls, right? I am sure one day, they will realize their errors…lest bad luck fall upon them for how their behavior effects the people around them.
“So let’s put that behind us for now, okay? We can set up a small lunch and have some free time before dinner. Doesn’t that sound nice~?” Amaterasu brought her best smile out, hoping that an action like that might finally relax him enough to let that whole thing go. There was still a lot of time left in the day, and it shouldn’t be wasted on those who didn’t deserve it.
He scoffed, ears flicking in agitation. He wasn't happy leaving those that didn't show Amaterasu the respect she deserved unpunished, but he also knew he was supposed to be above needless violence. okamiwanderer:
“I suppose we can.”, he said with a soft chuckle, sitting down with Amaterasu, placing his cup on the table. When Yuzuki tried to sniff at it he booped her snout away, causing the young pup to stick her tongue out in protest. He laughed softly, ruffling her head - except the moment was then interrupted by another roll of thunder, causing Yuzuki to whimper.
“There, there… It’s just thunder, it can’t hurt you.”, he let Yuzuki hide against him underneath his jacket, petting her over the jacket, holding her like one would hold a small child. In a sense she was his child - adopted, but still. He loved her like he would his own flesh and blood, he did with all of his wolves.
Yuzuki just kept whining softly underneath his jacket every time there was a rumble of thunder, shaking in his arm. “Shhh…. it’s alright.”, he did his best to soothe the pup - he was having some success, when he spoke over the thunder she didn’t whine as much, though she was still shaking in his arm.
Amaterasu tilted her head back, looking up to the ceiling as the rain tapped overhead, thunder rolling like waves of the ocean…and then, a streak of lightning she could practically feel happening nearby. There then went, but here… Her dark eyes drifted back down to where Yuzuki was hiding, her brow furrowing a little in worry.
There’s things to worry about right here with the pup, hm?
The goddess drank some more of the hot chocolate, making sure to licking it from her lips before moving and adjusting herself…to lay her neck and chin right over Hanzo’s leg. Her own hand rose to stroke where she knew the pup’s cheek to be, murmuring words of comfort in a soothing tone; even moving close enough for Yuzuki to hear Amaterasu as she sang a lullaby she remembered from her own early life, voice rising when the thunder rumbled above them.
Anything to give the pup some comfort to relax and know she was safe with them.
Hanzo’s cheeks darkened with colour when Amaterasu laid her head over his thighs, though he kept his composure - no good getting flustered now. Besides, he could tease her about it later, if he didn’t die from cuteness first.
It took a while, but eventually Yuzuki fell asleep, her little body ceasing to shake, instead taking slow steady breaths. Hanzo smiled when Yuzuki had finally fallen asleep, still holding her inside his jacket, fingers gently brushing over her.
“Sounds like she’s finally calmed down. She’s always been... nervous around storms, which I can only assume is because of the fact I found her in an abandoned den after a big thunderstorm.”, when he had initially found Yuzuki she was barely more than a month old, so far too young to be seperated from her pack.

“Shoutout to all my partners who are understanding and supportive despite my shitty activity! You all deserve the world.”

He chuckled softly, shaking their head. “There’s hoping.”, he said, offering her his hand to help her up. It was only polite, plus he had come to like her touch, however fleeting it was.
He was well-aware of his adoration for her, but never once voiced it. If she did not feel the same way, he would feel foolish, and he did not want to ruin the one proper friendship he had in a few millenia. Besides, how could someone as wonderful as Amaterasu love someone like him?
He shook these thoughts off, now was not the time to dwell on them. He went back inside with Amaterasu at his side once he had helped her up, the two instantly being greeted by a whining Yuzuki, the young pup trying to hide against Hanzo, causing him to chuckle. “Scared of the thunder, are you?”, he asked, reaching down to pluck her up, keeping the hot chocolate well away from her curiously sniffing snout.
The goddess hummed in response, giving one last look to the sky before taking the offered hand. They could only hope, but… All the same, she was far along the road to acceptance already. Her brothers’ especially liked to give her little peace (well, aside from Tsukiyomi) so the chances of them finding some peace… Mm, it wasn’t as likely as she wished it could be.
Being inside was nice, at least. Within these walls, it would be easier to ignore her rough and tumble brothers causing a might bit of mayhem in the form of their thunderous sound and lightning strikes. Their sound would dull and combined with the rain hitting the rooftop and the warm hot chocolate in her hands… It would set a wonderful scene in time.
A soft giggle left her when that blur of dirty white streaked towards them, looking down fondly at Yuzuki. Was she really so scared of the rumbling outside…? Well, they’d surely help soothe her fears from that, then. (And keep her away from their drinks.)
“I suppose that’s something we can help with, right, Hanzo?” Amaterasu gave a soft laugh, walking over to sit at the table, legs tucked under herself to keep warm.
“There, there... It’s just thunder, it can’t hurt you.”, he let Yuzuki hide against him underneath his jacket, petting her over the jacket, holding her like one would hold a small child. In a sense she was his child - adopted, but still. He loved her like he would his own flesh and blood, he did with all of his wolves.
Yuzuki just kept whining softly underneath his jacket every time there was a rumble of thunder, shaking in his arm. “Shhh.... it’s alright.”, he did his best to soothe the pup - he was having some success, when he spoke over the thunder she didn’t whine as much, though she was still shaking in his arm.
