okay but real talk here guys
if you think that’s sexism, then you’re going to have a serious shock when you get into the real world. james and tristan acted like normal guys, guys who were having a laugh, a joke. they get asked that question so much that at some point, you’ve just got to take it all with a pinch of salt
can we bare in mind that even my dad, who treats women with the most respect, can see it’s a joke and he obviously isn’t anywhere near these guys’ age.
come on guys - this is ridiculous.
james and tristan “acting like normal guys having a laugh” at the expense of 5 women.
you’re not offended? your dad (who is a MAN by the way) is not offended? cool. but fifth harmony is. lauren is. and that’s all that matters in this situation.
I’m sorry but people make jokes like that all the time without any meaning behind them, and I hear a lot on a daily basis around uni, but that doesn’t mean that any single one of them had sexist tendencies behind them.
Oh, really? My dad is a man, I’d never have guessed. I’m saying that he knows how to treat and respect women. I get it, they’re offended (which I still don’t have to agree with) but that doesn’t give Harmonizers or other fandoms the right to personally attack The Vamps.
They’re big girls, they can deal with it themselves.
I truly feel sorry for you. That you feel the need to make up excuses for a bunch of boys that are supposed to be acting like men and that you can’t put yourself in the shoes of another woman and try to understand why they would be upset. I don’t give a single fuck that you’re not offended by any of the jokes you hear “around uni”, because I’m sure other people were offended but you have no empathy for any other women. Do you that desperately want to be accepted by men?
I’m sure cruel remarks have been made towards you, sexist or not, jokes or not, that have hurt your feelings and how would you feel if people sat around and invalidated your feelings? Said you had no reason to be upset? And don’t tell me you haven’t been upset once in your life. No one deserves to have their feelings invalidated like that.
You must be so far up these boy’s asses that you can’t feel any remorse for a woman who did nothing to deserve having her reputation tarnished by “normal guys having a laugh”.
Like, are you serious? Pathetic.
Can I point out that I never once said that it wasn't okay for them to be offended? Did I ever say that I've never been offended by a joke or a comment? No. I did not. I said that the tendencies and the meaning behind them were not harmful. This doesn't mean that nobody has a right to be offended.
My comment wasn't about their reactions to the situation since they know a lot more about it than we do. This is about the fans jumping to attack when they don't know all the facts. I know you'll simply say that I'm doing the same, but I'm not. I'm not sending death threats or harsh personal comments.
So don't try to twist my words around to make this seem like I have no empathy.
The only reason I even know about this whole situation is because of my friends (who are harmonizers can I just say) who have been talking about it in a much more mature way than I've seen today. So no, I'm not up their asses.
