Lace winged poodle moth freehand 🧶
Here is a bit wonky but doable guide under the cut to make your own lace poodle moth for @your-everyday-rapunzel or anyone who wants to give it a go!
Yarn is any 4 weight worsted white acrylic.
Ideal Sphere for the head, 12 row vers.: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ideal-sphere
Popcorn Paisley for Wings (I didn't use instructions, just the chart, so yours might be a little different from mine) stop once inner flowers are bordered: https://www.free-crochetpattern.com/2018/10/popcorn-paisley-crochet-pattern.html
The antenna are just a simple chain with a pipe cleaner threaded through to hold it up.
Body is jumbo sized Yarn Bee Perfectly Plush yarn (I recommend jumbo from another brand because hobby lobby is yuck imo). Body is magic ring of 6 single crochet, repeat for ~6 rows (I just measure what looks good in comparison to my completed moth head) or when you get the length you want then decrease until closed.
Legs are started by slip stitching around in a ring through any one single gap caused by the large hook size needed to make the body in the jumbo yarn.(~10-12 slip stitch around to start for biggest leg, probably 6-8 for the smaller ones but it depends on the size of your gaps) I do 2 rounds of single crochet just so it gets out of the fluff then start decreasing once per row. I think the longest leg is 9 rows long.
I think that's all the parts! If you need any help or clarification feel free to reach out to me, I'll do what I can to bring your moth to life! :^)
