i am so so sorry for my horrible awful no good activity. i had so much muse for eli when i joined but then my dumb brain decided to fuck me over and i’ve had like......... -12 muse for eli now.

i might switch them out for another character that i have more muse for but i’m not?? so sure about it because i have plots that i ADORE for eli, but i could always pick him back up as a second character sometime far in the future?? idk.

i could try to churn out replies for eli even though i don’t have muse but i’m nnnnoott sure. what do you guys think i should do??

     &. — “i said, it’s a bit obvious you haven’t gotten any shuteye in quite some time, you sure you really wanna be in class?” reina chewed on her lower lip and tilted her head to the side, giving his arm a gentle squeeze. “well, i’m about to head over to the cafe. i can get you some espresso and a slice of cheesecake, on the house. your call.”

      &. — eli took a deep breath, finding their last bit of energy to give reina a nod. they knew she cared, and that was reassuring if nothing else, “yeah, if i missed a class it would be a disaster. it, um, doesn’t start for another hour though,” they shifted their weight, “an espresso sounds really good right about now.”

“I’m surprised the food I made is actually good. Here try some!” Kota offered the food to the other. “I promise it’s really good. I usually burn all my food.”

      &. — eli pulled back a little bit, blinking at the food kota was offering them, “you know, um, telling me that you usually burn all your food doesn’t help your case very much.”

“oh, uh.” they hesitate for a moment, attempting to regather their thought, and get the line of conversation they’d originally intended back in some semblance of order. they’re usually more observant than that, and tend to be able to pick up when another person isn’t listening, or isn’t interested in listening anyhow. weren had just been talking about the healing properties of clear quartz as opposed to amethyst. “it’s not important. are you okay?” that’s their subtle way of asking is there anything i can do to help? because he doesn’t look all that ‘okay.’

      &. — they took a moment in the quiet to try and gather their thoughts, try and recall any details of what the other sim was talking about. the only thing that they could remember was something about clear... something. elijah mentally kicked themself for not paying any attention, but quickly came back down to earth when wren spoke again. they offered a small smile, shaking their head lightly and rubbing at one of their eyes, “yeah, i’m sorry. i didn’t get very much sleep so i’m just, uh, tired.”

“are you kidding?” finley feels winded from the retelling of their sponsorship fiasco and to have gone through the dramatic motions only to be told their audience wasn’t listening is damn near heartbreaking. it’s a good thing they consider eli a friend and a good one at that or else their relationship may have gone immediately into the negative at the disgrace. “well, i’m not going to repeat myself, eli! just know that you missed an amazing story filled with drama, angst, triumph and winning the game of consumerism.” they add a haughty huff so that eli perhaps considers listening next time. “it’s okay, though.”

      &. — eli felt bad; he really did. they usually payed as much attention as they could when someone was speaking, it kind of came with wanting to be a doctor. if you didn’t pay attention, you could miss something important, which could end rather horribly. so really, they should have known better, but it seemed that their brain didn’t feel much like cooperating today. letting out a quiet sigh, elijah leaned forward onto the table they were seated at, “i’m sure it was a great story, fin, i’m just— i don’t know i’m...” they struggled to find the proper words, staying quiet for nearly a full thirty seconds before giving up, “i’m out of it today, i guess.”

You may have read one of them, maybe both; or maybe neither, yes; but the thing is I like second opinions and suggestions when choosing my next readings. It may sound weird, but I think it is very helpful. ’ Kala explained herself, offering the briefest smile to the other. She then raised the two books, showing them with a little swung; first one, then the other.  ‘ — So, please, help me out on this one; what do you say… Murder in Pleasantview or Unicorns for Audrey? ’ 

      &. — “um...” elijah hesitated, taken somewhat by surprise at the ramblings of the other, gears turning in his head and mouth closed quietly as he caught up with what she was asking. after a moment passed, he blinked at the books, examining their covers and considering the options rather seriously. he wasn’t much for fiction, but he would still like to help. a few minutes passed as he thought, before finally he pointed to one of the options, “murder in pleasantview.”

“Oh gosh. Just a simple half hearted sorry is all I get? Guess I should have expected that.” She gave a tight lipped smile and walked away from him hoping he’d follow behind. “I’ve prepared what I call a buffet to die for. I got the original Squid Salad, my favorite dim sum, hot and spicy soup, and some cooling mint green ice tea. I also have water if ya don’t wanna get fancy.” She smiled and offered him a seat while she circled the table to sit. “I haven’t got to see you in forever, and our short time intervals don’t cut it. I’ve thinking of stalking you…and that won’t be too hard considering where we live. Don’t be surprised when you see a big ass orange as your shadow.”  

      &. — he felt his heart drop for a moment, eyebrows furrowing as he followed her, “i really am sorry.” listening to sumi list their meal for tonight, eli was suddenly aware of the twisting and turning of his stomach, and tried to remember the last time he’d eaten a real meal. he pulled his jacket off and rested it on the back of the chair, before taking a seat. a guilty smile graced the younger’s features, hands fidgeting underneath the surface of the table, “i know, i’m sorry. med school might actually be more stressful than pre-med, if that’s even possible.” he shook his head, "if i tried reserving some more time to hang out with you, would you consider dropping the stalking?”

“i was just saying how there’s a high possibility of alternate universes existing. did you ever hear about the one where bella goth mysteriously disappeared?” she probably shouldn’t have tried to start a conversation with the complete stranger next to her, but she just couldn’t help it. in her opinion, sitting in silence was time wasted. “i’m sorry. is everything alright? you look like you could use a little pick me up.” she suggested, taking note of the disheveled state he seemed to be in. 

&. — “i uh, i haven’t heard of any alternate universes, honestly?” he shrugged, “i mean, unless you mean like, um, universes where robots have taken over and, you know, stuff like that.” contrary to popular belief, elijah wasn’t much of a reader. he was smart. he read about science and math and different ways to fix up a busted blood vessel, but not really fiction or... for fun, really. “i’m fine, sorry, i’m just tired. sorry. thank you, though.”

hugo gawks for a moment, mouth opening and closing as it desperately tries to force words out but their brain is yet to decide which ones. though, this individual seems on another plain of existence right now, so hugo reckons that being patient and simply just repeating themself would be best, “uh, i was headin’ into work and these,” they hold up their hand, gently waving the four sheets of paper they’re holding. their grip is loose as they don’t want to smudge or damage them, “they seemed t’be followin’ y’down the street. jus’ didn’t want y’to lose ‘em that’s all.” they offer the papers, “are you alright?”

      &. — glancing down at the papers in the stranger’s hands, he quickly opened the messenger bag resting at his side, and realizing that the paper he had just written had disappeared, let out a sigh. “shit,” he gingerly took the papers he was being offered and tucked them away securely in their bag before returning their attention back to the other, giving them a smile. “thank you, seriously. i think i’d die if i didn’t turn this in today...” he must be tired, he’s not usually the type to share even something so minor, “yeah. yeah, i’m fine, thank you, just a little tired.”

blinking, a hand reached up behind his neck before rubbing nervously. not because he was nervous per say but because dylan never initiated conversation outside of their typical. “ i was just asking if you wanted to… sleepover… this weekend. ” he repeated, making sure to put emphasis on sleepover. “ but you look like you need literal sleep, so nevermind. ” it took him a second to realize that his words could be taken as an insult so he quickly added, “ no offence, ” with a somewhat convincing grin. 

      &. — letting a long breath escape from between their lips, eli lifted a hand to rake their fingers through their messy hair, which was no strange thing. it seemed as if the younger’s hair just had a mind of it’s own, to be honest. they finally brought their full attention to the other, furrowing their eyebrows for a moment at his suggestion, before he realized that actual meaning behind the word sleepover. “well, i’m free this weekend. i can grab some coffee or take a nap or something, i’m fine.”
