{“Before becoming a cursed doll, in 1551’s juliet Sadlon was a human woman and a respected knight. At the age of twenty-five, she was known for being shy and quiet, yet incredibly brave. Though she rarely spoke about her feelings, she always protected those who needed help and never backed down from danger.”}
{“Juliet secretly loved a young man name Adrian Voss who was twenty-six years old. For years she admired him, believing he was kind and worthy of her affection. However, the man grew irritated by her feelings. He disliked that Juliet was stronger and more skilled than he was. Deep down, he was secretly in love with Juliet’s younger sister name Rosalie Sadlon, a woman of twenty-three.”}
{“fearing Juliet would never stop loving Adrian and jealous of her strength, he decided to get rid of her.”}
{“One day, adrian invited Juliet on what seemed like a romantic picnic in the forest. Excited and hopeful, Juliet accepted. They spent the afternoon together until they reached a cliff overlooking a beautiful valley.”}
{“Look over there,”} {adrian said.} {“There’s something beautiful you must see.”}
{“As Juliet stepped closer to the edge, he suddenly shoved her.”}
{“She fell from the cliff, crashing against the rocks below. Her body was shattered, her sword still clutched tightly in her hand. Believing nobody had witnessed the crime, the man fled.”}
{“Later, Adrian lied to Juliet’s sister Rosalie, claiming that Juliet had bravely saved him from a wolf before accidentally falling from the cliff herself. Heartbroken and trusting his words, rosalie mourned Juliet deeply, never knowing the truth.”}
[“The Shadow at the Funeral.”]
{“On the night of Juliet’s funeral, silence covered the graveyard.”}
{“As mourners departed and darkness settled in, a mysterious shadow appeared beside her coffin. The figure carried a glowing crystal sphere that shimmered with strange light.”}
{“Without speaking a word, the shadow stole Juliet’s body before it could be buried. Carrying her away into the unknown, the figure vanished into the endless halls of the Labyrinth.”}
{“There, an ancient curse transformed Juliet into something neither fully human nor fully doll.”}
{“Many years later, at the age of Five hundred, Juliet finally awoke.”}
{“She opened her eyes inside a strange castle hidden within the Labyrinth. Confused and frightened, she struggled to remember who she once was.”}
{“Her appearance had changed. Her hair, once cut short two years before her death, now flowed down her back in long waves decorated with blooming roses and flowers. One Small horn-like branches grew from her head, resembling the limbs of a young tree. These strange horns changed color depending on her emotions.”}
{“Parts of her body felt unnatural, like porcelain and wood woven together with flesh. She had become a living doll.”}
{“Yet despite the curse, Juliet’s knightly spirit remained.”}
{“Armed with the sword she carried in life, she began wandering the endless halls of the Labyrinth Castle. Fragments of her lost memories haunted her dreams: a cliff, a betrayal, a crying sister, and a face she could never fully forget.”}
Ngl this pic feels like a sitcom title screen: Eric as the protagonist, Bruce as the cool older cousin, Gene as the moody uncle and Paul as the eccentric auntie 😭✨️
Katherine continues to panic, worried that she won’t be able to get a bass guitar for the show, but is suddenly greeted by a new friend
——————————————————————————
Katherine glanced around the new music store her uncle had been working in. After he finally arrived at St. John's, he has been hard at work, setting up new instruments, sheet music and more across the little store, including a small room dedicated to music lessons in the back of the building. Katherine simply sat by the large guitar section of the store, a variety of electric, bass and acoustic guitars were displayed on the walls and on guitar stands. She watched Veena scurry around the guitar section, searching for cords for her guitar
"Man your uncle has everything here!" She exclaimed happily, checking each cord. "I mean of course this place has high quality stuff. I go here all the time"
"Even before my uncle got here?" Katherine asked curiously
"Yep! This place is pretty much filled with everything a musician needs." She added. She finally grabbed long silver cord from the selection and plugged it into her white Les Paul electric guitar, slowly strumming it
"Yeah except for a Fender Bass. That's the brand I wanted." She muttered annoyed
"Wow picky much?" Veena remarked jokingly
"It's the brand I've been looking at for ages! I've seen so many bassists use it and recommend it!"
"Doesnt your uncle get new guitars every week for the shop?"
"He does but... I just need it now. It's November now and I still need one desperately. The contest is a few weeks away and we haven't even started rehearsing with a guitar that doesn't sound like a dying toaster!" She slammed her head into her hands and Veena immediately wrapped an arm over her shoulder, pulling her closer to her
"Kath, I think you might be putting too much pressure on yourself."
"No I'm not! I'm being realistic here! If we don't get it, we'll lose and I don't want to upset you or Tanya or Cassie!"
"Girl, we don't expect you to be perfect!" Katherine shot up frustrated and walks towards the door, her eyes pooling with tears as she marched out. Sitting on the curb of the building, she tried to level her breathing, her fingers digging and gripping her hair tightly in frustration, her worries heightened to a huge extent as she started to hyperventilate on the ground
But as she continued to struggle, she heard rustling noises behind her, like someone or something was rummaging through the dumpster leaning against the wall. And then a whimper came out from the dumpster, confusing her further. She got up slowly, sneaking closer to the dumpster, cautiously peaking inside hoping to see what was happening.
Inside was a small stray Boston Terrier puppy, snooping around looking for any leftover food. She focused on the puppy roaming around inside before they both made eye contact, tilting his head as he looked up at her curious face. He happily barked and clawed at the wall of the dumpster, hoping to be let out.
"Kath! Your uncle wants you!" Veena called out, looking around the area for her
"Down here!" She called back, before she immediately remembered something. "To your right!" At those words, Veena turned and spotted Katherine leaning over the dumpster and rushed to her side
"Listen I know you said you felt like garbage but I didn't think literally?" She joked before looking inside and seeing the puppy. "Oh. Oh! Oh I see what you mean!"
"Here get in the dumpster and get them out!" She ordered. Without another second, Veena immediately grabbed the dumpster and hoisted herself inside, her brown boots clapped against the faded metal. The puppy looked at her curiously as Veena kneeled down to scoop him up
"Here grab them!" She said, holding the dog up and Katherine immediately grabbed it and placed the puppy down, the dog immediately nuzzled up around Katherine's legs, panting happily. "How long were they in there?"
"I don't know but at least they look happy." Katherine stated, kneeling down to play with the puppy, happily rubbing his stomach as he rolls on the pavement
"Katherine? What are you doing?" Eric asked, looking down at her as she played with the puppy. He soon kneeled down and took a look, seeing the dog's tail wagging and his tongue sticking out happily. "My boss told me about this little guy." He murmured happily, taking the puppy into his arms.
"They come here often?"
"Yes actually. My boss says that he comes by here often. However, this dude doesn't really have a home. My boss was gonna take him in but he doesn't have enough space in his apartment to take care of him." Katherine looked at the dog and started petting its head, the puppy turning to lick her hand.
"He's adorable." Katherine murmured as she continued to pet him. Eric watched his niece as she let the dog chase around her before happily climbing onto her lap, almost forcing Katherine to lay back onto the ground.
"Well..." Eric started, taking the puppy and bringing him up. "We better get this little dude home. Who knows how long he's been out here alone."
"Really? But won't mom and dad not like this?"
"I'm sure once we tell him, they'll understand. Besides your mom loved dogs since we were kids." Katherine gave her uncle a huge smile, Veena similarly smiled at Eric's gesture and she jumped up and hugs her uncle tightly.
"Thank you so much!" She cried excitedly.
"No problem kiddo. Let's go and get this little guy home and some food." He responded, petting his head, passing him over to Katherine for her to hold him. "Veena do you need a ride home?"
"Yeah might as well." She answered, walking alongside Katherine who was still laser focused on the dog. "So what are you gonna name him?"
"Not sure. Maybe I'll ask my parents to see what they wanna name him." She replied, getting inside the car, letting the puppy run around in the back seat as Eric started up the car, driving off away from the music store, Katherine looking back contemplating on her own guitar on the long ride home.

Allison cuddled up with their new dog on the couch, the sound of her tv show playing in the background as she happily rubbed his stomach. Mitchell looked over happily as he brought in a bag full of dog food and toys, Katherine grabbing a couple of food bowls and started pouring water and food into them.
"I think bringing Weston home was a good idea." Mitchell commented.
"Weston? That's cute." Katherine replied, watching the dog happily run off the couch to eat his food.
"He's a lot more active than my childhood dog. I'm actually really glad that Eric brought him here." Allison said, watching him
"Yeah. I just wish there was a Fender bass for me at his shop though." Katherine mentioned, sitting down on their faded brown couches. Mitchell and Allison looked at her defeated expression, her fears were heightened more than usual. They both turned to each other and Allison nodded, prompting her husband to rush out of the room, intriguing Katherine. Mitchell rushed back inside, carrying a large metallic guitar case, struggling to place it down on their wooden coffee table.
"Well about that, we kinda saved up for this occasion." Mitchell answered excitedly, she gets up to take a closer look, feeling nerves and excitement flowing through as she gingerly opened up the case, seeing a large silver bass guitar inside, perfectly polished and smooth with four strings and white brown guitar neck
"We're sorry darling. We wanted to get you a purple one but there wasn't any we could find. And most of the guitars were-"
"I love it." She whispered happily, interrupting her mom. They looked at her confused before she spun around to embrace both of them. "It's perfect! Thank you!" Her parents sighed with relief over her excitement as they hugged her back
"Oh thank god! We were worried you were gonna be upset that it wasn't purple!" Her dad joked
"Are you kidding! I don't care if it's orange! And I hate orange!" She shouted excitedly before noticing her dad's offended reaction to her statement. "No offence dad. But yeah, I didn't care if it was an ugly shade of brown, I'm just so glad I finally got a bass! It's perfect!"
"Well I'm sure that on the 12th, you will be incredible at the music contest!" Allison reassured her, kissing her forehead.
"Thank you guys so much! I hope this wasn't too expensive!" She replied
"Oh don't worry about the price! The only thing you should worry about is hitting the right notes." Allison joked, receiving a playful smack from Mitchell
"Ally!!" He playfully scolded. Katherine interrupted their playful banter by embracing them once again
"Thank you so much..." Silently, her parents embraced her back. Even Weston ran over, nuzzling up against his new owners legs, joining in on their tender moment, with Katherine smiling down at his big smile
Finally, everything's coming together
——————————————————————————
Tanya twirled her drumsticks around as she watched Cassie pace back and forth in the music room, her white boots clapping against the white tiled floor, her expression laced with worry. Veena kept plucking her guitar while checking her phone, waiting for a response from Katherine
"Where is she? She should be here by now." Cassie asked confused
"Don't worry Cass. Remember she just got a puppy off the streets. The poor dude probably doesnt want her to leave." Veena responded
"I guess but still, we're so close to the competition and we need the original song started soon!" Cassie added, fear rising in her voice, freezing up on the spot
"Hey Cass, we're gonna be fine!" Tanya replied in a nurturing tone. "Just try to sit down and relax. However she did say that she has a big surprise."
"Imagine shes bringing in the dog just for funzies." Veena joked, receiving a few laughs around the rooms, helping Cassie calm down, her shoulders dropping in serenity
Suddenly, the large door swung open and they turned to see Katherine beaming from ear to ear, holding the silver rectangular guitar case.
"Hey guys!" She greeted happily and loudly. The girls got up, surprised by her big smile and bright energy. She opened up the case, showcasing the fender bass guitar laying inside and their eyes widened at the sight of it
"You got it?!" Veena shouted excitedly. She pulled it out, letting the lights shine against the bright surface
"Yep! Now let's take it for a spin!" She replied, plugging it into an amplifier, a buzzing noise filling the room. Veena pulled up her black Les Paul and flicked out a guitar pick for her and Katherine. Tanya slid back into a stool and Cassie turned up the volume on her keyboards, increasing the buzz sound in the music room
In an effort to get the band prepared for the show, the girls decided to go and make new outfits to shine onstage, thanks to Veenas mom
——————————————————————————
The girls just finished another run through of Kiss' song Turn on the Night from the album Crazy Nights. As they started to make music together, they realized that all four of them absolutely adored that song and decided to use it as their cover song for the competition. Veena was shredding her guitar as hard as she could, Tanya's drums filled the room with its echoing rich sound, Cassie fiercely played the keys, letting her fiery keyboard slide through the song expertly, and Katherine plucked at the notes with great precision and ferocity. The sound was glorious and they knew they had the song down just as good as the original track after studying it for hours.
Once they finished that final run through, they put their instruments and took a quick breath. Cassie starts organizing her sheets and looked over at Tanya, taking a long sip at her aqua water bottle
"I say that was the best time we did that one!" Cassie admitted enthusiastic
"Yeah I might have fumbled on that second pre chorus." Tanya remarked twirling her drumsticks
"Hey I never even noticed!" Veena replied
"That's because you were busy trying to jump like Paul in the 80s." Tanya retorted
"Oh shut up!" Veena playfully smacked Tanya on the shoulder and Tanya let outs a quick laugh. Cassie smiled back and took a notice of Katherine concentrating on her guitar, plucking the strings as hard as possible. She was testing out one of the bass guitars that the school provided and was struggling immensely to get it to sound right
"You ok Kath?" Cassie asked. Katherine finally looked up to see Cassie's questioning face
"Oh yeah I'm fine. It's the guitar that's bothering me. It sounds... muffled." She answered, trying her best to articulate her feelings
"This school has a lot of instruments that's either hand me downs or cheaply made. So don't really expect it to sound great." Veena replied bluntly. In response, she pressed her head against the neck of the guitar
"God I can't wait to get my own." She muttered annoyed.
Soon they hear a loud banging at the door, Tanya got up from her stool and opened up the door to see a familiar unfriendly face on the other side.
"Are you done in there? You're gonna make me deaf before I even practice." Tanya immediately slammed the door in response, staring back with a blank expression to the others
"Oh great Medusas here." Veena muttered.
"Just let her in. Our rehearsal times over anyways." Katherine told Tanya.
"But we still need to look over the original song." Cassie added. "Which might I add, we barely have anything done for it!"
"We just need to have a brainstorming session one of these days. Right now I desperately need a bass guitar in order for us to sound good. We're getting closer and closer and I still haven't got one."
"And also we need a name for the group! We haven't gotten one yet!" Veena alerted
"Ok this is ok! This is fine! We just need to chill for one second! Well get it all sorted out! I say we just try to come up with a name before-"
"You guys haven't gotten a name yet? Honestly, I expected that from you losers"
"Zoe shut up! Anyways we'll come up with a name and then try to get Katherine a bass guitar somehow." Tanya replied
"Actually I do have an idea. My mom has some old clothes she made for some shows she worked on. The other day she asked me if we wanted to come over and try them on. You know, give us a cute outfit for the occasion?" Veena suggested
"Really? Cute outfits?" Cassie asked curiously.
"Yeah she thinks we should get a look onstage!"
"Honestly, that would be really cool! As long as it's purple I'm in!"
"And my blue!" Zoe then pushes open the door to see the others.
"Um I'm right here. Can you hurry up the punk squad meeting already?" She ordered
"Oh shut your trap!" Tanya slammed the door back in her face. "Yeah I agree! Let's get some cute outfits and then we can go and try and make a name as we do!"
"Yeah Thatll be fun!" Cassie agreed. The girls started to pack up their instruments and opened the door to see Zoe again at the door.
"I'm still waiting." Zoe snarled, tapping her foot impatiently
"Yes here you go little miss boredom!" Veena almost shouted annoyed before Tanya grabbed her arm and started dragging her away from Zoe.
"Don't provoke her Veena it's not worth it." Tanya muttered
"I know but it would be so satisfying!" Veena answered, the girls still speedwalking down the hallway towards the stairway, heading down to the main entrance to finally get towards Veenas home
——————————————————————————
The four girls jumped off the Metro bus in a small part of the downtown area of St. John's. Katherine had never gotten the chance to explore downtown abd was pleasantly surprised by the scenery, houses lined up in a variety of vibrant colors, a massive view of the harbour and the sea along with tall hotels and business offices, and a large hill where a small castle sits, looking over the ocean below. The view was incredible and nothing like she had seen back in her old home as she stayed nearby a fence to take a few pictures, mesmerized by it's rich beauty
"First time here?" Veena asked.
"I never expected the downtown area to be this beautiful." Katherine replied
"Oh it's nice but unfortunately, the roads are filled with idiot drivers." Tanya said. "Well, actually it's like that everywhere in this city but you know what I mean."
"I guess. You should see the drivers back in Wyoming. Most of them don't even know how to yield of all things!"
"That's actually common here." Cassie remarked, receiving more laughs as Veena continues to walk down the street, guiding the group throughout the bustling city. Katherine admired several cathedrals and church's in the area, most of them made of faded crimson bricks, one even in the centre of the town, letting all cars circle around it.
Veena soon stopped at a cream coloured two storied house with brown window shutters. Faded gray stairs lead up to a dark brown door. The windowsills were filled with small yellow daffodils and red roses. Veena gently pulled the door open and Katherine looked around curiously, admiring the black and red walls inside, most of the golden brown wooden furniture arranged perfectly across the small house. On the right is the living room that has gray couches and arm chair and a matching golden brown wooden coffee table and side table.
In front of the porch entrance was a stairway that leads to the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The stairway has golden brown railing and white carpet steps and a small closet underneath the steps. The small hallway next to it leads directly towards the kitchen and dining room. The house was small compared to hers and Tanya's but it was nice and cozy, perfect for their 4 member family.
"Mom! I'm home!" Veena called out, kicking her black sneakers off. Everyone shuffles into the house and Katherine dusts her light blue jeans off, hoping to look presentable as an older woman with crimson hair and hazel eyes come out of the kitchen. Her hair was tied in a messy bun and had a sparkly jacket over a lime green patterned shirt and dark blue jeans.
"Veena! There you are! Come in, i just pulled out the boxes!" She replied happily. "You can take a look too, Tanya and Cassie. And you must be Katherine right? Nice to meet you! Veena wouldnt stop talking about you!" She greeted warmly, everyone rushing into the kitchen to see a variety of cardboard boxes
"Hope she said good things." She joked. "These are all from your costume bank?" She admired all of the boxes as Cassie takes one and started peeking into it.
"Most of these are clothes I made for some tv shows I worked on. The goal was to make clothes that look like a mix of stage outfits and stuff you'd normally wear every day."
"These look great!" Tanya exclaimed, pulling out a blue sweater and a stripped shirt. "It's nice that you wanted to help us out with our clothes."
"Of course! I figured you girls wanted something really fun to wear for the occasion!" She answered.
"Thank you Miss Rogers." Katherine replied
"I'll leave you girls to it. And Katherine, you can call me Wanda." She responded happily, leaving the room. Katherine immediately sighed with relief, pressure finally lifted off of her shoulders. She just hoped that Veenas mom didn't viewed her weirdly and didn't wanted to embarrass Veena. But while deep in her thoughts, she felt Veenas hand rest on her shoulder
"Relax. My mom is chill. She wouldn't have helped us with these outfits if she wasn't." She reassured, Katherine smiled back at her and put a hand over hers.
"Hey Katherine! I found something you might like!" Cassie called out, tossing an amethyst purple jacket with a high colour over to her. The sleeves were cuffed and the back of the jacket had a small mauve star on the back. Katherine stared at the jacket before pulling it on over her white and purple stripped shirt. It fit perfectly like a glove and was rather comfortable inside
"Oh that looks good!" Tanya complimented. "Here, I found a matching skirt for it!" She tossed over a purple skirt with small mauve stars adorning the edges
"Oh that's gonna look so good on you!" Veena said happily.
"Yeah I think it will too!" She replied confidently. She soon sat down and joined the others on the floor, pull out other pieces of clothes trying to make the clothes match. Everyone started trying on all sorts of different styles of shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, shoes and more, until all four of them finally came together some new clothes for their performance.
"Alright girls! Let's see them!" Wanda exclaimed excitedly. Each of the girls came out, brand new outfits in various shades of blue purple and pink.
First was Veena, strutting out with a magenta jean jacket, black fabric inside the jacket with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, tiny pale pink buckles attaching them to the elbows. She had a matching magenta jean skirt with a black fabric attached to it, just covering her knees, adorned with small pale pink stars. She had a sparkly black top underneath and small gray ankle boots that possessed small magenta lining along the heel of the boots. In her hair, she wore black hair laces to keep her crimson hair back in her usual low ponytail style, giving her a hard rock edge look to her
Cassie came out next excitedly, sporting a long knee length dress, the top half being light pink with short filled sleeves barely covering her shoulders. Her shirt half resembled a button up dress shirt. The bottom half was a hot pink skirt and matching ribbon belt, giving her a cutesy look compared to the rest of the girls. Along with her small pink flats and hot pink headband adorned with tiny pink stars, she looked very petite than the rest of the girls
Tanya was rather casual compared to the rest of them, coming out sporting a sparkly blue shirt covered by light blue stars, with a dark blue button up blazer overtop with blue buttons on it. She had a blue belt on with a light blue buckles on it, star shaped and small, and a knee length skirt in three shades of blue, azure blue, cyan and light blue. She had knee high dark blue boots making her look rather business casual. Lastly her hair was tied back by a sparkly blue hair lace, framing her angular facial features perfectly, looking mature and confident
And lastly, Katherine came out next, a bit of shyness coming through. Sporting the purple jacket and matching skirt with mauve stars but also sported a lavender shirt with small purple stars drawn over it. She had a small sparkly purple belt with lavender buckles over it and purple flats with small mauve heels underneath. Topping it off, she had a small purple hair clip in the shape of a star. She looked the most glamorous of them all, giving off a pop star vibe with her look and bright violet hues all over her outfit
"Oh you girls look great!" Wanda proclaimed happily. "I love the stars all over the outfits, really makes you all look like a group!" She added.
"Honestly this was unintentional." Tanya remarked humorously.
"Well it looks fabulous on you!" Wanda replied
"So are we allowed to have it?" Katherine asked shyly
"Of course! Keep them! I don't really have a use for them anyways!" The girls beamed at the compliments and Katherine felt a bit more confidence coming out as she smoothed out her jacket and skirt. "Now, why don't you go and change and come down for dinner! Veena I made your favourite!"
"Oh yeah! Let's get some pasta!" Veena announced excitedly. The girls quickly changed back into their previous clothes and Katherine stared down at her jacket happily looking over the new stage outfit. A feeling of great accomplishment shining through. Stuffing them into her bag, she sighed in relief.
"Hey Kath! Come on down! My mom makes good pasta!" Veena said, standing by the doorway. Katherine slowly got up and smiled at her
