I feel like I should let y'all know that last night I danced with a guy who drives a backhoe and he said one time he went to flip a switch to open a gate and flipped the wrong one and accidentally let the hippos out at the local zoo.

WHY in Goblet of Fire ch.25, when Harry is stuck in the trick step and Filtch is about to find the golden egg and the Maurauders Map, does he not just use "Accio"? He has his wand with him, because he reaches with it to try and clear the map but it's "too far away". He's already summoned the Firebolt for the tri-wizard tournament, so doing the spell is not a problem. Later in that scene, Moody uses "Accio" to bring the map to him instead of Snape. Why Harry why.

Can we talk about Dennis Creevey for a second?

He comes to Hogwarts having listened to his brother Colin talk about how wonderful Harry Potter is for the last three years. He finally makes it to Hogwarts, and by the end of his first year, another student has died and the person his brother idolizes is claiming "he who must not be named" is back.

Of course Colin and Dennis are going to believe and support Harry. Dennis spends his second year at Hogwarts, a 12 year old, under the awful leadership of Umbridge and students frequently insulting his muggle parentege. As a 12 year old, he's probably hurt and confused at why so many people are against him when he is just as much of a wizard as they are. And I'm sure Colin is just reassuring him "Harry will fix it! Everything will be fine!" His third year goes by fairly uneventfully until, all of a sudden, his headmaster is murdered by another teacher. And Harry was there? Is Colin right to believe in him?

Dennis spends his fourth year, and Colins sixth, under the awful rule of the Carrows. He and his brother fight and hide with those who still consider themselves part of Dumbledore's Army, and when it finally comes to fighting, Colin pushes him out of the Room of Requirement and insists he'll be right behind him.

And then Colin never comes back. Colin, who's encouraged his brother and idolized Harry Potter all of Dennis's life, is dead. Fighting for the cause of Harry Potter and muggleborn families like him.

What is life like for Dennis? He's got three more years at a Hogwarts without Colin, a life without Colin. His muggle parents can't possibly understand why their son is dead in a war they don't understand. Do they even let Dennis return to that school, or do they want nothing to do with magic again?

We constantly talk about Teddy, George, all those people who lost loved ones. Lots of love to Dennis Creevey. ❤️
