Thinking abt f1 rivals zolu, thinking about them always neck and neck for p1.

Thinking about Luffy jumping Zoro, pissed, fists swinging after a race in front of everyone, because Zoro had the chance to overtake and he didn’t do it, having Luffy take P1.

Luffy is furious and no one really understands his logic, he won, he’s leading the wdc championship now, why is he so angry? He calls Zoro a coward, says the win is undeserved because it wasn’t properly fought.

Zoro is confused, did he miss the chance at an overtake? Usopp would’ve radioed him, but, maybe, for a second, he hesitated. No, it wasn’t hesitation, it was…what was it?

“Why did you go easy on me? Why didn’t you fight me for it?”

Luffy asks him this on the podium, turning back to the crowd like it never happened, leaving Zoro listless, scrambling for answers. Did he go easy on his rival? He scrapes his memory, looking for clues, any suggestion that he, Roronoa Zoro gave up pole position to the man he is currently fighting neck and neck with in the WDC championship.

Zoro looks to luffy, east blue anthem ringing loud and it hits him.

The sun hits the racer, reflecting off dark hair that burns golden in the sunset, towering, a beacon. Luffy has always looked so beautiful from a step below.
