@old-crawlerot
i'm kind of a dog person. i'm kind of a dog and kind of a person
what a lot of feminists get wrong is the idea that banning sex work helps victims of sex work or does anything to help abolish sex work. it only makes sex work more dangerous to the victims.
"so, crawlerot, my beautiful little angel, what does help abolish sex work?"
the real answer is combatting capitalism and forced labor. without forced labor, there is no incentive to actually do sex work. in fact, there is no such thing as sex work without an incentive to do so ($$$). that's just… sex.
sex work is a product of capitalism and forced labor.
Firstly, crawlerot, you smarmy piece of shit, we are absolutely not required to wait until capitalism is abolished before we start giving financial support to prostituted women. We can start campaigns right now demanding that existing tax revenue, or revenue from a new tax on the rich, be allocated to funding housing, food, and other necessities for women and girls who are currently stuck in prostitution. New Zealand, a country where prostitution is fully legal, is currently lobbying for free doctor visits to be funded through a new capital gains tax, so don't you fucking come to me saying that any new social safety nets have to wait until capitalism is completely gone.
And secondly, there are a shitload of left wing men who want to retain a steady supply of women whom they can pay to stick their dicks in even after this hypothetical abolition of capitalism. Given that, by your own admission, prostituted women are only tolerating these men's dicks because it's that or starve, at some point you are going to have to break the news to them that these women don't want to have sex with them and that they will therefore have to make more effort to get laid and accept that there may be cases where women say "no" to sex with them despite those efforts. Have you done that, crawlerot, you male-pleasing asswipe? You should get on that.
Also the Norwegian model shows great promice by criminalizing the John and the pimp wile seeking to help the women forced into it. I wish people whould stop defending pimps John's and traffikers.
Hello! It seems as if none of you actually understood the point of my original post. Nowhere did I ever:
Imply that we can't do anything about the sex work issue until capitalism is abolished
Defend pimps and Johns or say they shouldn't be punished for their actions
Defend sex work or imply it wasn't rape (I already know it's rape)
Imply trafficking or coercion wouldn't happen without capitalism or forced labor
The original point of the post was to:
Raise awareness that criminilization doesn't get rid of sex work
Explain how sex work is a product of forced labor and capitalism
But it seems a lot of you are not ready for this kind of conversation, as visible as you throwing accusations of me defending Johns for pointing out that maybe the way of getting rid of sex work in its entirety is not criminalizing it.
But of course, y'all want this to be more proof that TRA(NNIE)s are male pleasing misogynists.
Like prostitution predates capitalism. And prostitution is not forced labor it's rape. And no you not likeing your job is not the same as a woman being trafficked.
"Thats not what I was saying!" It's called adding to the conversation buddy it's a thing that people do. Also note I am not criminalizing the woman traped in that bad situation I want to criminalizing the rapeists you can not buy consent because that in and of itself is coersion.
"Adding to the conversation" and it's misconstruing my words and making me out to be a villain for ever implying that sex work wouldn't exist without forced labor. I KNOW that it predates capitalism, I KNOW that it's rape, I KNOW women are being trafficked into it. I did not say that sex work is the same as forced labor, i said that it exists BECAUSE of forced labor
I do understand that criminalization somewhat helps the situation, but MY MAIN POINT IS THAT IT DOES NOT GET RID OF IT.
I'm just tired of arguing. I understand both of your points but I feel as if you guys are making more assumptions about my character more than just addressing the issue at hand.
I just don't want to be in this constant cycle of trying to explain myself. I respect the arguments you have made, I really do, but I feel like you are directing anger at the wrong person.
I understand now that my points may not have been the best, as sex work can still happen without forced labor or capitalism. I was not in the best headspace at the time and was just rambling my thoughts all day yesterday. I just wish I was approached with more insight instead of constant attacks on my character.
Thank you for your perspective, though. I'm sorry for any trouble I may have caused implying that "criminalization doesn't work." It does, but it doesn't completely rid the issue.
I made no assumptions about your character maybe you need to take a deep breath and realise that I am not responsible for what every other woman ever says.
Sorry about that. I was referring to both of you in the post, but the other user in this blog blocked me before I could respond to them. I do really care about these issues, and I hope you understand my point of view in how combatting capitalism will help free women and girls. I never wanted to imply that pimps and Johns should be left scot-free.
Is there anything else you'd like to address in this thread that may be an issue? I'm open to hearing anything.
i dont like it when people take an evil character and they make them some flavour of bigot to like, “amp up” their villainy or whatever. esp when it’s tonally inappropriate. like that one post was right it IS always funnier when characters who suck are inexplicably allies
gonna start reverse-shipping. that canon couple is not dating actually. that kiss was entirely platonic and i dont see why you’re reading into it any other way. their parents are clearly roommates with benefits. when they say “boyfriend” they actually said “boy friend”. every character will become aromantic when i’m done with them
historians with literally any historical couple that isn't straight
just accidentally got someone banned for using that fuckass aryan kpop demon hunters meme im so sorry whoever you were. i just thought the image was inappropriate to use as a placeholder i didn't think your whole account would get nuked. but also you were a bit weird for putting "don't worry i'm white" in the description beside it. so i don't know.
I had to google what that is and simply said I cackled 🪷
what the fuck is going on on toyhouse

y'all love talking about how you love and support autistic people but then make fun of the average deviantart user or logo kid. ok
i have no problem with people loving characters that are absolute pieces of shit. in fact, a lot of these characters deserve a lot of love and their storytelling aspects deserve more praise.
what i do have a problem with is woobifying them or treating them as just someone who's misunderstood
and then treating a female character from the same media like the most evil character ever
i understand there are problems with closed species but i don't think it's a good idea to be making cs bootleg characters purely out of spite
ocs should made with love and passion, not hatred and spite
to add on to the second part all my characters that i have that are scummy in nature are not made out of hatred for those kinds of people (don't get me wrong, i still hate those kinds of people in real life) but rather out of the passion and love for storytelling and yearning for the representation of the actions and their concequences.
9 out of 10 times you will lose connection with characters you make out of spite. it happened to me
i understand there are problems with closed species but i don't think it's a good idea to be making cs bootleg characters purely out of spite
ocs should made with love and passion, not hatred and spite
"are adoptables a scam?" idgaf i'm giving furry artists money and showing my support for them along with having a character i can rotate in my mind as a little bonus
