Absolutely in love with this one. Ep3 was a disaster, but outside of that, for my tastes this is one of the best looking shows this season. The animation keeps reminding me of other shows. Eps 1 and 2 reminded me of Bocchi the Rock and Onimai at times. And then eps 4 and 5 have hit me hard with Akiyuki Shinbou vibes (Monogatari series, Madoka). Some of the key animators have worked on those shows but I'm a long way off from being able to spot specific animator's styles. Also, cheers to the yuri lovers - you get a great show.
Ribdiculous Reincarnation
This is my overperformer this season. It's sitting at ~6.2 on MAL right now which is low but I'm having fun with it. The basic episode formula is - guy gets reincarnated as something improbable, then immediately returns to the afterlife and tells his godess a meandering story about how that reincarnation went.
So far they've done a significantly different animation style for each reincarnation including claymation and papercraft so the creativity has been delightful. The deadpan delivery of the godess has also consistently cracked me up.
I used a self-publishing service to print a physical copy of Ikoku Nikki using fan translations/scans. It wasn't cheap in terms of time or money but I'm really happy with how it turned out.
The unlimited blade when it works idk
Some gifs from eps 5/6.
Waiting for tomorrow to watch the first ep but I remember when I first heard about Ikoku Nikki getting an anime all it said about it was "With Kensuke Ushio on the soundtrack" and I liked imagining that was the only thing they had at that point. No studio or director yet, but we got Ushio.

What we're doing for the outro here - an odd zombie-typewriter dance with a backdrop of smug images.
you know as a kid when you put on an adult's coat and feel super heavy and safe? he's got those vibes
Big stretches from the assassin show.
Good dumb fun so far (gifs are from ep 5). It seemed like it might take itself too seriously, but the cat demon and getting out of the starting area has eased it up. I want the plot to get a bit more substantial after they sped-ran the elf backstory, but I think this is a solid pick-up for the season. The animation sometimes gives me 80's vibes which I lack the vocabulary to describe, but its in the use of shadows and some of the sharp wispiness to the linework.
