Something that's kind of funny about how little the tumblr population at large seems to understand about rap and hip hop is how people treat Eminem as like, the final boss of shitty rap music. And like Eminem has been doing REALLY bad for like, ten to fifteen years now. He hasn't been good in forever. But you can SAY that because for a while he WAS good. To this day he remains the White rapper with the most cred because he was good (you'll actually find that "yeah he hasn't made anything good or interesting in like ten years BUT he USED to be really good" is extremely common in this genre when goat debates are had). But most people on here are still locked into the notion that to be "a White rapper" is inherently to be bad or Cringe (which Eminem was kind of a huge catalyst in dismantling, even if no other White rapper has rlly taken his crown even after all this time); in fact I think most White ppl on here wouldn't be able to name one Black rapper or even a single song they think is Cringe. And like that's funny isn't it

In my defense, I've never really enjoyed rap as a genre. There's a few songs here and there I like, but it (and country) are basically my least enjoyed genres, basic I know lol
