Favorite Pokémon of all time?
I'm gonna have to be a really be super basic and say that sylveon is probably my overall favorite, but I have a lot of others that are really neck and neck with it in terms of either design, utility, or sentimentality. Sylveon's got more than a little bit of all of those for me, so it comes out on top

Favorite type and ace Pokémon if you were a gym leader of that type?
So this one is rough for me because I did fill out a spreadsheet some of my friends made that calculated that I would be a fairy type gym leader by a landslide, which isn't surprising to me at all. The tricky bit is...... I'm not quite sure if fairy type is what I'd pick if I did have to stick to one type? I'm really attached to having a balanced team and my irl interests are very eclectic and don't really help me narrow things down much. My team is a rainbow at any given point and that's how I like it. Once again, when I weigh all my options, I think fairy type with an ace sylveon wins, but I can also easily see myself being a grass, water, or fire gym leader
Favorite Mega Evolution?
Delphox and malamar are my favorite new ones, though a lot of those are pretty cool. From the X and Y days, I'd probably pick mawhile, though I think gengar's is also very neat and I've got a soft spot for absol's "I can be your angle or yuor devil" ass megas
Favorite movie?
I love the first one, but I think the third movie with Entei is the one that has stuck with me the most over the years
Favorite legendary and/or mythical?
Legendary would probably be either Ho-Oh because it's the big rainbow bird or Xerneas because X was my first game and I want to chew on its antlers. Mythical is firmly Diance
Favorite rival?
It's gonna become very apparent going forwards that I have VERY limited experience with actually playing Pokémon games, so I am going mostly on vibes. Bulbapedia considers Arven a rival, which I did not expect nor interpret him as during my playthrough, but I do love him so I guess the answer is Arven
Favorite Champion?
I want to touch Wallace
Favorite Gym Leader?
Might be recency bias, but Iono's vtuber shtick is very fun and her fight was actually kinda challenging for me, so I think she takes it for this one. Also nobody asked but the Heat and Rain badges from Hoenn and the Psychic badge from Kalos are my favorites design wise
Favorite NPC?
Man, it's probably Arven again at the moment at least. I like the pathetic sandwich man and if he doesn't realize that he's actually pretty good at battling I'm going to fucking hit him

the chimney swift is a medium-sized member of the swift family primarily found in the southeastern united states + northern south america. at one point, these birds used hollow trees to nest; today, they are almost entirely found using man-made structures, primarily chimneys, which is how they get their name. like other swifts, they are unable to perch, but can vertically cling to surfaces. if groups of chimney swifts are disturbed, they may loudly clap their wings in an attempt to scare off predators. these birds live much of their lives in the air, and only feed on insects and arthropods caught in flight.
It's actually been so weird fixating on Pokémon lately because I'm used to fixating on like.... Stuff that isn't necessarily entirely out there, but out there enough that you have to search for other fans. I'm almost never into anything that's current, but Pokémon is evergreen. This almost feels too normal
So in Scarlet and Violet your biology teacher tells you that getting more gym badges helps you catch higher level pokemon and like...... Biologically speaking, how the fuck does that work actually?
Like I know this is just the game trying to explain a mechanic to the player, but rather than just going "as you collect more gym badges, I think you'll find you've gotten stronger and it'll be easier to catch higher level pokemon" and attributing it to you growing as a trainer, they have your BIOLOGY teacher relay this information to you, which makes it sound like there's some sort of in-universe scientific relationship between gym badges and ease of catching pokemon.
HOW DOES THAT WORK??
Have pokemon as a whole decided to collectively and uniformly value these man made badges? In their DNA? How'd they do that? How does that level 50 dondozo know I only have four gym badges? Can he sense that I have the aura of a weakling? Biologically???
Even though I don't really have the time or motivation to take on a full prompt list for an event, I still wanted to throw something out there for Mayblade since it's one of the big reasons I bothered making a Tumblr again in the first place.
