Everyone has a sort of expectation for Spock
Chapel (referencing snw, im sorry) wants him to be human
T'pring (snw again, listen im tryna make sense of it tying to tos so just hear me out) wants him to be vulcan (in a way, i already did a rant about how spock not being able to be in a relatishionship with T'pring went beyond the fact that he was gay)
Kirk has a sort of romantic veiw of him
Bones, Scotty and Uhura are the few who like get Spock
Spock is veiwed machine like, with the logic and the manner that he has and hey Scotty's good with machines! His job is having a thing work, similar to logic, but at the same time sometimes kicking a generator works just becouse. The same way that something is the way it is even if its illogical
They are SO comfortable with eachother and JUST SO MUCH RESPECT AGHH
They must work in eachothers quarters alot, and they arent talking much but they are the most efficiently working when theyre togheter, like i could see them even being roomates during shoreleave simply becouse!

Which is of course not only for Spock, i think any starfleet officer would defender another but theres also how Scottish people were treated and how Spock is treated as a half breed, expected to act perfect on Vulcan and more emotion showing among humans to be preceived normal, while expecting him to have the talent of a vulcan and be considarate and sympathetic like a human
Becouse those are the good qualities that people take away from the cultures and embrace while shaming the rest
Similar to how Scottish people were horribly treated for even speaking with the accent let alone the language itself but then expected to still learn the poetry and the literature of the few Scottish writers that were accepted
But then yeah Scotty didnt felt it that much since hes born way later but we cant know how people act towards certain groups in the future, while it is clearly much better but i dont know im rambling
