realizing that most of the closest people in my life lack emotional intelligence and self awareness is a different type of lonely. no matter how intimate the relationship may feel, feeling understood and having your feelings validated is the most profound form of intimacy. the other day i bursted into tears over a minor misunderstanding because i had to explain myself like six times before the other person partially got my point, and even then, it didn't feel genuine. nevermind feeling physically exhausted, those types of interactions will drain the fuck out of you.
