I've noticed a lot of writers kind of assume that time on the unstable SMP is equivalent to time in the real world--i.e, it's been two years since the events of the series started from the perspective of the characters. But I feel like there is some serious charecter/angst potential if that isn't the case.
My first thought is that it makes a whole lot of sense for at least Parrot and Spoke to have been teenagers during PZE. (the things that they get up to without outside forces (ahem. clown) feel like kind of bullshit teenagers get up to) But over time, I do feel like their characters mature. To some extent, at least Spoke goes from someone that people default to protecting (Minute, Leowook) to someone that people default to assuming the worst of, (Minute, Leowook). Also, I feel like while Parrot was always interested in statecraft, the scale of the states he is making get bigger, and he gets more responsible with their well-beings. AND! Clown gets more outwardly violent as the series goes on. He spares Parrot's life by putting him in Proton but actually seems to want to kill him when he's hunting for Wemmbu (I belive that's the context of that second interaction?)
They also both get "jobs". At a pretty similar time. (Parrot @ potion shop, Spoke @ BAT) which I find kind of funny.
