Hey folks,
OMG PoC Please!, an OMGCP network of color started by Yun @chrisfranklinchow [previously chowder-chow] and Phee @omgcphee [previously brunch-at-jerrys], is reopening applications, from Thursday, April 20, 2017 until Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST.
Here is a run-down of our network, for your convenience:
Objectives
Meet other people of color who like Check, Please!
Create fanon for the Check, Please! characters of color
Celebrate the Check, Please! characters of color through fanworks of any medium (art, fic, headcanons, icons, etc.)
Discuss and vent about Check, Please! fandom racism in a safe space
Promote content creators of color’s content
Aspects of the Network
This tumblr as a stop for Check, Please! characters of color content–members will get access to this blog to reblog content of the OMGCP PoC
A calendar for events we hope to run, help promote, and take part in
A group chat on Discord, with different channels for different subgroups and topics (e.g., channels only for adults, only for minors; channels for headcanons, selfies, brainstorming, etc.)
Eligibility and Rules
Must be a person of color
Must be willing to discuss the disproportionate attention that the Check, Please! fandom pays to the white characters over the characters of color, even in pairings of one white character and one character of color
No P*rse discourse other than what is listed above or mentions of P*rse except in the context of the second bullet point * We’re not here to pick fights; we just want to have a space where Check, Please! fans of color can vent about fandom racism, in addition to focusing on the characters of color
No q word or ace/aro discourse (for this link, ignore the top half that says applications are closed; below it is what we mean by ace/aro discourse)
Please respect other people’s experiences, especially if you do not share them (e.g., antiblackness)
How to Apply
Follow the network page (@omgpocplease) and read through all of our links in this list to get a better idea of what this network is like (also check out some testimonials from some of our current members!) * Note: Everyone is welcome to follow this blog, as this will also be a blog for content about OMGCP PoC, but for network applicants and members, following @omgpocplease is required. Feel free to follow @chrisfranklinchow and @omgcphee as well, but this is not mandatory.

What Happens Next?
After applications close on Saturday, April 29, 2017, we will start reading through the applications and picking members.
Admitted members will be notified on Saturday, May 13, 2017, and asked to fill out a Members Survey (Members Survey due Tuesday, May 16, 2017)
Please check your settings to make sure that we can contact you! We will be informing admitted members of the next steps through Tumblr’s IM system.

For those who will not be joining the network but who still want to get involved–as we’d like to promote more content about the characters of color in general–if you’d like for us to see your content about the characters of color, please post in the tag #omgpocplease (network members, please use #omgpocnet)! In addition, while applicants/members must follow @omgpocplease, everyone is welcome to follow this blog! Thanks so much!
