An overthinker

Would you like to empty the trash?
Controversial opinion
I wish I'd never gotten into Dispatch. There, I said it. The fandom ruined it for me in about 3 days flat.
Reblogging this bc it's worse now! I haven't even touched my game in months and every time I think about Dispatch I genuinely get a little nauseous now :)
Also for some reason a bunch of "respect male SA victims!!" Instagram reels have come up on my Insta (which is fair, apparently people downplay what happens to mark in invincible and ?? How???) and the comments are flooded with Invisigal hate and it's getting to the point I'm doubting my own fucking memories of this game. Did I hallucinate that the locker room scene was more nuanced than it was? Am I a terrible person for liking her as a character? I truly like to believe that I would believe all SA victims, but what if I'm buying into SA propaganda?
What I say: "The repeated pattern of disproportionately excusing or romanticizing white male villains WHILE demonizing female characters and characters of color for "lesser" flaws is often due to a pattern of unexamined/unchallenged misogyny/racism in our shared fannish spaces."
What people hear: "You specifically are an irredeemable bigot for liking villains and dark!fic, and all of your fanfiction should be burned in the town square and banned from the internet forever. Also, I hate to see women enjoying anything."
"came back wrong" but it's more explicitly + intentionally about medical and/or caregiver abuse
came back wrong in the sense that the person who revived you subtly or even obviously changed aspects of your appearance to conform better to their concept of beauty, but no one else notices, or thinks that you look better like this anyway so they don't care and are even jealous of you. came back wrong in the sense that you never consented to be brought back; don't know who dressed you like this and arranged your body in the position that you woke up in; it feels like a violation that no-one will admit to. came back wrong in that everyone is so smotheringly protective of you now; won't let you take even minor risks or "abuse" your newly-revived body with substances and poor lifestyle choices.
this is the vampire claudia I feel
Just a reminder: don't tag your hate, especially in specific character tags. It's a dick move.
You can tag the anti tag, you can make up any tag you like, but tagging the main tag/s for a character is just forcing people to see stuff they'd probably rather not see and it makes me think that the only reason you're tagging it the way you do is because you want people who like the character to see it.
Personally, I hate Flambae. I have Flambae blacklisted. I don't go into Flambae tags and make everyone feel bad about liking his character, and when I'm in the main Dispatch tag I ignore the stuff with him in it. It's that simple to protect your peace.
If you're a person who hates a character (particularly Invisigal) and uses anti tags so it's easy to filter, that's awesome. You should absolutely have a place to talk to people who share your opinion and you're totally valid for whatever opinion you have. If you want to have a discussion about the character, that's also cool to put in the character tag. But don't put vitriolic, hateful stuff in the character tag then go all surprised pikachu face when people get upset with you.
Tagging hate in the character tags is just kind of shitty. Don't do it.
now say it with me: authors/artists dont owe you moral purity. an author/artist job is not to hold you by the hand & tell you exactly what is Good™ & what is Bad™. you should be able to think for yourself
"yes but depictions of (morally questionable thing) are only okay if its punished in the story" thats the hays code. you just reinvented the hays code
The game in a nutshell
Why does drafts automatically change to post? Who made that decision?

Incorrect quote
Prism: If your exs wrote passive aggressive Yelp reviews of your time dating them, what would be some of those reviews titles?
Robert: One star: unmedicated, no money
Coupé: Three stars: pretty good, fucked this up quite frankly
Invisigal: Two stars: big boobs, but she steals
