So glad you asked! It’s actually from the ancient Roman poet Seneca (to clarify, I’m into ancient stuff and Latin in the gay leftist way, not the fascist way), who wrote to his student Lucilius “Omnia…aliena sunt, tempus tantum nostrum.” Literal translation: Everything is foreign to us, only time is ours. Actual translation: Everything belongs to someone else, only our time is ours.”
And as I have chosen to spend some of my only possession (time) here, I figured it was a fun little reminder.
