If you look closely at Baelor, he reminds me of Aragorn. The heir to the throne who is so gentle with everyone because he knows his own power.

Aragorn in LOTR, is a Messiah figure, like Jesus. And Baelor too has that almost holy aura about him. However he dies, never to return because in his case the sins of his family are too much. It makes so much sense that he dies because of his own family, directly and indirectly, from daeron lying about egg's disappearance, Egg running away with Duncan, Aerion assaulting and torturing an innocent girl to Maekar hitting the blow which claims Baelor's life. Baelor breakspear who defeated Daemon blackfyre, one of the best ever fighters in ASOIAF universe twice, loses his life to his own kin because he has to. He's holy in a family of sinners and he has to pay that price. He has to die for the sin of others.

Iron Man 1 really said "the actual bad guy is the white capitalist who is selling arms under the table to both sides in order to extend the war and make as much money from it as possible," and Iron Man 2 really said "the white capitalist who gives a platform to people with bad intentions in order to make a buck is the reason the bad intentions have the opportunity to prosper and cause untold damage," and Iron Man 3 really said "the real terrorist is the white capitalist who will create and use fear to manipulate governments and the public in order to sell a product," and I really don't think enough people recognise this.

#i adore wrecked desperate jonathan #he's heartbreaking and disturbing #but also kind of funny #his whole exchange with delgado was so sassy #jonathan strange #jonathan strange & mr. norrell #jsamn #bertie carvel #he doesn't know it since he's never met the gentleman but he's acting very similar to a faerie in this scene #he seems to be making sure the recipient of the deal actually wants it but how can he be sure when delgado is mad and non-verbal #on the other hand she literally does nothing all day but sit in her chair eating mice caught by her cats #anyway this is interesting thematically but also because i've seen some fan theories that jonathan might have some faerie ancestry #since his family name 'strange' matches the naming scheme of families with faerie ancestry in the book #and his natural grasp of magic outstrips norrell's decades of study from the very first time he casts a spell with no training at all
