Quick PSA, if you get one of those "Work scanned, AI use detected" comments on AO3, just mark them as spam.

Some moron apparently built a bot to annoy or prank hundreds of authors.

There is no scanning process, your work doesn't actually resemble AI writing, it's all bullshit. Mark the comment as spam (on AO3, not the email notification you got about the comment!) and don't let it get to you.

The spam comments have evolved.

They are now also linking to a site they claim is able to scan works and tell you whether they were AI written or not, and that you should do that before reading a fic.

It should go without saying that you should not, under no circumstances, visit a site advertised in a spam comment.

In this case, I'd say there's even a chance that the "scanning" site is actually used to scrape fics and use them for future AI writing. What it definitely doesn't do is tell you whether something was AI written or not. That's a bullshit claim.

Don't use that site. Don't believe these spam comments, whether you get them on your own works or see them on someone else's.

It's all bullshit.

My dad and I once had a disagreement over him using the adage "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

I said, "That's just not true. Sometimes what doesn't kill you leaves you brittle and injured or traumatized."

He stopped and thought about that for a while. He came back later, and said, "It's like wood glue."

He pointed to my bookshelf, which he helped me salvage a while ago. He said, "Do you remember how I explained that, once we used the wood glue on them, the shelves would actually be stronger than they were before they broke?"

I did.

"But before we used the wood glue, those shelves were broken. They couldn't hold up shit. If you had put books on them, they would have collapsed. And that wood glue had to set awhile. If we put anything on them too early, they would have collapsed just the same as if we'd never fixed them at all. You've got to give these things time to set."

It sounded like a pretty good metaphor to me, but one thing I did pick up on was that whatever broke those shelves, that's not the thing that made them stronger. That just broke them. It was being fixed that made them stronger. It was the glue.

So my dad and I agreed, what doesn't kill you doesn't actually make you stronger, but healing does. And if you feel like healing hasn't made you stronger than you were before, you're probably not done healing. You've got to give these things time to set.

10/10 I will say I usually HATE fics with oc's, but this one just does it so well and I have no clue why this one is so so good when most of them aren't but it has pulled me in by the ankles and I have become attached to these children (especially Oliver) in the same way I got attached to regular characters of the podcast! Also, Jon as just a tired, grumpy, creepy, weird teacher who just happens to know everyones names on the first day and who seems to know everything going on in the classroom is something that I didn't know I needed until now. (Now that I think about it, he kinda brought these students suspicions upon himself by being so damn weird. There isn't much Martin which is sad, but with as much as is going on, he would probably be drowned out anyways sadly enough :( I literally just got off of the ao3 page for the last episode as I am typing this out. I needed to share it.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck This one has me by the ankles still and it won't let me goooooooo! 1000000/10 I loved it all. Time travel fics are the cherry on top of the cake. The Jonmartin in this from the Primes (lol) and the Jon-Tim-Martin from the past selves is so gooood. The characters are all so in-character it feels like it's actually them! I highly, highly recommend this one.

This has not gone unnoticed by Jon, who is nothing if not someone who tries to take initiative.

10/10 Just read it. Just do it. It's so utterly adorable the way they act in this and drunk-Jon is something I NEVER thought I needed until now. He is precious. Also, this is probably the first fic I have read where Martin is discovering his feelings instead of already knowing how he feels. It's so pure. T^T
