Peter hears a snap. It’s softer than he imagined it would be. If he wasn’t waiting for it, he might have missed it altogether. The clink of the gauntlet barely stands out amidst the gory sounds of battle weaving around him, yet it still sends a chill down his spine. Peter waits for the feeling he can remember all too vividly. The sense of dread that had overwhelmed on Titan as he fought to stay in one piece, as he raged against the pull of a force he couldn’t explain. The feeling never comes. He whips around and swings toward the center of the battle, where he’d heard the sound. The glow of the stones stands out amongst the rubble and dirt and blood of the battlefield.

Peter’s heart hammers in his chest. No one was turning to dust. No one was fading away, but he’d heard a snap. As he draws closer to the glow, he sees why.

Thanos stands alone, the gauntlet on his hand bare and useless.

Tony kneels in the dirt, his arm raised. Strong, proud, defiant.

Tony snaps, but the team’s not letting him go without a fight.
