villager breed tutorial

considering the fact that iron golems are a bit expensive to make in the beginning of playing in a minecraft world, and that usually finding a village with one is pretty difficult, i'm going to try and show how to get an iron golem to spawn in any size village.

iron golems spawn in a village with at least 10 villagers and 21 houses- while villagers are easy to count, the definition of a house is not clear to a good deal of people

by all technicality this is a house

this will actually work with villagers- if its night, they will go hide under that block like here (realizing they aren't REALLY under the block, but they all run and hide right there where i should have put another block oops which for these purposes is close enough) they wont survive the night, but eh, there's not much you can do until you have an iron golem to protect them

villagers breed when there are additional house, and when the can, minecraft searches for DOORS to know if there are any additional houses. doors are the big key to making houses for villagers

why? each door represents one house, so as long as your door criteria is met, one building can have up to eight houses like so

in a 4x4 space, you now have 8 of the 21 requirement, and now a potential to get eight more villagers

to be more efficient something like a condo can be made (this set up, being symmetrical, counts as 16 houses)

once you've set up enough door houses in a village, and enough villagers have been born, an iron golem will automatically spawn, saving you time and resources making your own
