Deeper meaning of chapter 81 title
In the spirit of “things you don’t notice the first time around because you jump on the first available translation” (not a diss by the way, I greatly appreciate those who take the effort and it was a very good one this time around), let’s take a closer look at this panel:
Combine that with the title of the chapter: “Willpower”. So, who does that refer to? Garou? Or Glasses? Well, I think the title of the chapter has deliberately been chosen to apply to both. ONE often uses different layers of meaning. Looking at just this panel, it seems to be more Glasses than Garou in all honesty. Garou DOES seem to be faltering here. But Death Gatling’s speech has majorly backfired on him and his team. Him, an elite hero, comparable to the top? Not on Garou’s watch. As will become more and more clear, Garou is not as much a hunter as he is a judge. And judge he will, even if he has to break his limits again and again. For Glasses, willpower is seeing things through to the very end. Which is certainly admirable and great character development. But for Garou, it’s going far beyond to what should have been the end... Tallest OPM Monsters
A lot of people seem to think that Beefcake (or Marugori when using his Japanese name) is the biggest monster in One-Punch Man. And granted, the guy is indeed huge: 270 meters or 885 feet.
He is not the tallest by a long shot though. That honor goes to the Giant Snowman. You know, the guy that appeared in the anime opening?
He also appeared in an early bonus chapter of the manga called “200 yen”, although the design differs a bit:
So exactly how big is this guy? Well, his size is revealed at 1000 meters of 3280 feet in the official data book. That’s a huge difference even when compared to Beefcake! Below you see the differences between the two, with the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building mixed in to get a good sense of scaling. I “only” calculated 80% of his size as he is not standing up straight in his only available images.

“The Cyborg Fights” is by far my favorite OPM track. It’s pretty hard to give your own twist to, but I actually like this rendition by Matthew Beckham. My OPM site: www.onepunchmanfan.com

The boredom of being overwhelmingly stong
These characters cannot fully be compared to each other, but both do know the boredom that comes with overwhelming strength. Unfortunately for Saitama, I don’t think he will be meeting his Roronoa Zoro anytime soon...

The evolution of Glasses
Garou: This guy…ain’t half bad…
Glasses: I’m no fodder. “Stop running” is my line. I’m not only responsible for support, I’m also responsible for chasing you down if you attempt to flee in defeat. When it comes to stamina and will, I won’t lose to anyone, if it’s a battle of attrition, then I will be the last man standing!
