hope jolted slightly in surprise as she heard caroline’s voice before giving her a sheepish smile as she folded her sketch book closed. “i am not sure if you are flattered or offended so i am going to choose not to answer that question,” her tone light.

laughter bubbles up from the vampire before she gestures at the free space on the blanket. “mind if i join you?” and without so much as waiting for a response, she takes the not-offered seat with a smile at the magical princess. something good about seeing hope out like this, enjoying the fresh air and not letting things get to her- at least on the outside. it was all caroline could ask for in the end. “let me get back to you on that one.”

MEET CAROLINE ELIZABETH FORBES-SALVATORE. 

because i’m very bad, and i truly mean horrible, at summarizing my favorite character, i’m linking her wiki page here if you want to read thing. though, obviously, spoilers ahead. 

since i love caroline and most of her story line, i’m making her completely show canon. all of the events of vampire diaries, the originals, and legacies has happened where caroline is involved. 

she loves her girls more than anything & views hope as one of her own at this point ( you can fucking fight me if you don’t think caroline would adopt klaus’ daughter ). 

meaning- anyone that’s supposed to be dead? hello, expect teary hugs from caroline. 

look, i don’t agree with the stefan-caroline marriage so like.. sure it happened but her relief he’s alive and doesn’t know about it.. seen clear on her face. 

caroline came to cherryville in search of leads on avoiding the gemini merge. now that she’s here, she can’t leave. yay.

“me? no- i didn’t see anything.” something sounds like that might be a lie, the hint of a smirk only just giving her away. hard to believe that the vampire who is always involved in other people’s business has ignored something happening right in front of her.

the youngest mikaelson had been on a mission; to find herself a nice, quiet place in the sun to be able to draw. hope had never been one to vocalise her passion for art but instead, tended to do it when she felt alone or content. however, it was always in the privacy of her own room. 

lying down the picnic blanket, the auburn haired woman set up her stuff before sitting cross-legged as she begun to sketch in her book. a person not too far away from her had become her muse, her inspiration and hope could only keep her fingers crossed that they did not move.

perhaps caroline could have stayed still a little longer, given hope that moment of peace that it looked like she so desperately needed but in the end, her own curiosity won over as to what the girl was doing. so much like her father, it’s hard not to be impressed with moments like this. “does my nose really look like that?”
