♔ Shou was looking ahead, not looking at Namihiko for a while, but when he felt the other boy fall from his grip he stopped and looked down. “Namihiko! You okay?” He knelt down to take a better look at him and make sure he was alright. Luckily, he seemed as okay as always. What a weird kid… Oh well, he was glad he was the way he was.  IT gave him some hope. Though, when he told Shou not to look up, Shou could feel his whole body stop. His heart skip a beat and he almost shook.

"Why? W-what is it?" Hopefully it wasn’t a monster. There was no way that he could cast a spell that fast while freaking out like this. Nope, they would be DEAD for sure!

          "Uh... It's a... tree," he answered quite honestly, "But it's not a normal tree. It's a gross scary tree--..." Upon gathering the mouse up into his hands and standing, Namihiko came to realize that it wasn't just this tree that looked distorted and demonic. There were other trees farther down the trail with similar characteristics, causing Namihiko to shudder again. He clutched the mouse--who seemed terribly confused--to his chest protectively and moved closer to Shou, "Y'know, just don't look at any of the trees. Some of them are really creepy... Let's keep walkin' though." Grabbing onto Shou's sleeve with his free hand, he lead him down the path, hoping that the way they were walking was the right way.

♔   "I wasn’t freaking out until you reminded me that there may be monsters out there, Namihiko." Shou’s voice showed his distress, but his face jumped with shock as the other was not focused on something else entirely. The mouse he had lost earlier. He shook his head and continued to pull on Namihiko. "You need to keep that mouse close. Don’t lose her again, got it?" He sighed. "Alright now…" He looked at the trail and then ahead into the line of trees. "How far can we be anyway?" He wondered as he kept walking. It almost seemed as if they had been walking forever now.

          "Got it!" Namihiko smiled, setting "Nuts" in the hood of his jacket. The mouse calmly nuzzled into the fabric of his hood and peeked out, watching around them as they continued to walk. "I wonder just how far we are... If I were able to fly up, I would take a glance around or somethin', but there's too many trees--"  Whoa, did he just trip on a root? The poor thing was now collapsed face first in the dirt and fallen leaves, groaning out a pained "ow" as he did. Poor "Nuts" lie tumbled out of the boy's foot and onto the dirt ground, shaking her fur before investigating the boy and sniffing him about curiously. "Well, I totally didn't see that comin'--..."

          "....." Brown eyes went wide as his lighthearted smile disappeared slowly. He had looked up to see just what tree he had tripped upon, only to meet what looked like a distorted and mangled face within the wood. It was... disturbing to say the least. It caused a shiver to erupt within him and travel down his spine, "...Shou, if you're gonna scream or somethin', I don't suggest you look up." Just what in the world was this?

♔ This kid was trying to kill him through panic and worry, wasn’t he? Shou shrugged, a cold sweat running down his face as he tried to stay calm and reply. 

"P-perhaps there may be. I mean… We exist, right? So other things do too… and well, I don’t think humans would like it too much. S-so…yeah. There probably is…they’re probably hiding… hopefully hiding… And maybe they’ll stay that way… I hope they stay that way… if they don’t… I just… I hope they don’t attack us or anything. Oh shit…Why didn’t I think about that before? This is horrible. This is bad. What are we doing out here again? We need to find someplace fast." He reached out and grabbed Namihiko’s arm, keeping him closer, now panicking slightly.

          This scene, in its own light and way, was terribly amusing. It wasn't often that Shou was the one cowering and clinging to Namihiko. In fact, it was usually the other way around. Namihiko could giggle at this honestly, but instead, he patted the taller's arm comfortingly, "Now, now, don't freak out on me. We'll get out of here! I'm sure! You, me, and--" Feeling something hop onto the toe of his shoe, Namihiko looked down, eyes growing wide with happiness, "Nuts! There you are!" Short attention span already moved to the mouse that sat before him, he knelt down and picked her up into his hands, "We were lookin' for ya, buddy!"

♔ Shou sighed and looked at the other. “Don’t wander off on me either, okay?” Shou said back at the other. Taking another deep breath, allowing himself to drift onto some thoughts before being startled by the other’s sudden shout. Shou covered his face and attempted to catch his breath.

"A-also, can you not startle me like that?" Shou was already nervous enough. Even with Namihiko’s words of encouragement, he didn’t know where they were… it was worrisome and it made it hard to stay too positive. Though, if they got here, there was defiantly a way to get back. There was no way to be stuck anywhere truly, right? "I guess…I mean, there has to be a way home, we wouldn’t have been able to get here without a way here. Am I right?" His tone was lifted a bit, but it was still clear Shou was worried.

          "Of course!" Nodded the boy encouragingly as he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, "Besides, if we look, we might be able to find a town or somethin'! Maybe there's so nice people hidin' around here." He was sure that somewhere in the woods, no matter how far it was, there had to be civilization roaming about. He could also talk to animals, so if he needed, he could easily ask them for directions. For now, he tried to think of a way to pass time and entertain the two of them.

          "...Hey, Shou, do you think there's monsters in these woods?" Entertaining? More like unsettling, "Like maybe a werewolf? Or vampires?! Maybe there's a witch somewhere, too--!"

♔"No." Shou replied flatly. "I have not seen… Peanut Butter Sandwhich. Can you keep track of her, please? Losing her so often is making me anxious. Especially because I know you, and if I take my eyes off of you, you’ll run off after her." A slight bit of worry and anger raised in his voice as he looked at his air-headed companion. This kid made him worry so much. "Look… maybe we can make her a leash or something so you don’t lose her, alright?" He asked. Shaking his head. "Also, find a real name for her. Calling her Peanut Butter… . Sandwhich, was it now? Is too long, and not a proper name. Got it?" He lightly scolded the other, shaking his head as he looked at the faint trail. He felt like they’d never get home.

"This is a mess…" He muttered. "Will we ever find our way home…?" He started to frown a bit, feeling bad that they had gotten lost and he wasn’t able to get them home.

          "Roger!!" Namihiko chimed with a salute. He proceeded to look around the ground for the little creature, tapping his chin in thought as he tried to think of a new name, "I'm sure we'll get home, Shou! We just gotta keep walkin'! Or... somethin'... OH! You know what would be a better name?!" He shouted so suddenly it would probably startle the older, "We could call her Pickles! Or Salmon! Peach--!! On second thought, I might just be hungry..." As if on cue, his belly grumbled a little. He was terribly energetic, but then again, when was he not?

          "Peanut Butterrrrr~! Where are yoooooou?!" Loudly called Namihiko as he wandered along the nearly faded trail that he and Shou had been wandering along for what might have been hours by this point, "Darn it... Weird that mouse go? Shou, have you seen Peanut Butter Sandwich? And before you ask, yes, that's her new name." He was terribly nonchalant despite being lost in the forest. Perhaps it was because he was used to nature walks.

"MALACHI, MALACHI-- I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION!!"

☫ “Serious? Well…then ask it.” He looked at Namihiko seriously. Not sure what the other was going to ask him.

☫ Malachi’s expression dropped into one of pure confusion for a long while before he spoke again. “But, aren’t we technically already in one? We just don’t dress up and call ourselves heroes…but when you think about it, we are…so what are you asking exactly? For me to dress up with you…?” He blinked, confused still.

          "Nah, it's different!!" Namihiko replied a bit hastily, scratching at his cheek as he tried to explain, "It's just that... I dunno, I don't feel like I've really helped anyone yet. We just... have powers. And most of this time, we've been hidin' out and layin' low. Don't you think it would be worth it if we actually went out to save someone? We could, like, catch criminals and save hostages and-- and get cats down from trees!! Old ladies like it when people do that for them!!"
