A thing I love about ASOUE:

the fact that Sunny is a character and not a plot device or prop. Babies (and children in general, but especially babies) are so rarely treated as actual human beings, rather than breathing dolls who may or may not become humans in maaany years by the media and I love that Daniel Handler has such a great respect for children, even the smallest of them.
