TECHNO101-MVP Presentation

Ok! Another week, another challenge

It’s almost time for the end game and I’m pretty sure, no, we’re pretty sure our MVP is an assured success. It can deliver a two-way communication between the base and the receiver and the distance of the Wi-Fi is without doubt A-Okay

We organized and arranged the materials properly inside and also build our own DIY casing because we can’t be sure if the power supply casing could fit it all so we decided to make our own casing. It was hard and exhausting because of the sides of the casing which is very thick but manage to cut it through. So our casing is done in just 1 day and it was very great to appreciate the little things.

Analyzing, Testing and Handling. Three of these preferences are the key in our MVP. Since our startup is based on our thesis we just place what should have been laid in this project. Analyzing the program using our Arduino software in pc creating a bridge or connectivity towards our hardware. Testing is what we do in finding the errors and many mistakes in the program. Handling the materials is very important because it is very fragile and easily get broken but with the casing I think it should be safe and secured for the mean time (ha-ha) I think.

So we will wait for the outcome, expect what’s going to happen next and put faith in your own creation. Nothing’s impossible!

TECHNO101-ARRIVED

Ok! Another week, another challenge

 This week, we are waiting for the last item and as we wait we’ve obtain more info about our thesis with the help of a little microcomputer topics. So far so good but we have a little difficulty which our hacker has some problems. We need some assistance to this and talk some people because some information in the Internet are lacking (I think) but hey we are not sure or we just didn’t dig enough.

The other component that Joleo ordered in the LAZADA is also coming but I think it almost took 2 weeks to arrive because of the different service. But for me I took 3 days for the module and 1 week for the LoRa.

A week have passed, the final have arrived on Thursday and we are good to go. Our hacker just need some more time and more research, as I said I can’t participate in this matter but for some most parts I will handle all the others like the papers and other subjects that involves this project.

For now, we have good news that our LoRa are good to go and it can send but the problem is that the app connecting it. We are discussing that we will use an app to connect both LoRa and Wi-Fi to communicate because there’s some difficulties but we will solve it together (maybe).

TECHNO101-PENDING

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week, we are still waiting for the other components to arrive and as we wait our hacker Joleo has made a lot of progress in using the Wi-Fi module. I trust him because I can’t participate on what he has done within this week because of the places which is very far away from school but he still giving us updates.

As for me, I’m presently giving instructions to the team about how we going to do if the items have arrive and if it is completely shipped we are going to use it before the deadline just in case it may or will work.

We didn’t submit the revenue model last time because we are lacking the info about the test pricing for the customers but same as last time we did interview some people in the Barangay Kinawe. I’d say at least 7 out of 10 people but few of them have settled in using our app.

So a week have pass, we obtained the second material and that is the E32-TTL-1W. It is adopts LoRa spread spectrum technology, with this technology the module can transmit much longer distance than similar products under the same power with better anti-interference performance. So this might help us a little by obtaining the information about this technology and until the last item is received, we are good to go.

TECHNO101-REVENUE MODEL

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week, as I’m waiting for the Wi-Fi module to arrive, we discuss about what to do next in our startup. Since we are already done with the customer segments, we will wait what comes after next.

As we report our customer segments, we showed the whole class about our pains, gains and the jobs to be done to our startup project. Our target customer(s) will be satisfied if we likely get this job done and possibly solve the problems in the community.

My teammate Joleo have gradually making the app by a minute and is continuously do it and keeping us updated about the situation. At the end of the week, 1 of our materials have arrived and I have to give it to my teammate because he need to implement the app using the module.

The next part is the revenue model which give a lot of information about how the customer should receive the product and the potential ways to charge not how much to charge. The pricing tactics, the flow of the payment and the techniques to make sure the business of having the customer get in touch of the product you just made.

TECHNO101-CUSTOMER SEGMENTS

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week as we present in our customer segments, we confirm in using our venture the LoRa communication and the validation process. All are ready to go and surely, we will get more of the following materials needed for this. As of now we just need to further the customer segments and get more endorsement to our product so that our target will be satisfied.

So, our next topic will be making a channel which belongs in our previous blog in the BMC making. The channel we will be using is a direct channel which the producer sells a product directly to a consumer without the help of intermediaries. The intermediary in our channel is not necessary because we will be handling it out directly.

Now the materials needed. I have already set a delivery in Lazada and the upcoming materials will come within days or maybe weeks I think but I have already the track order. Now let’s hope that the delivery will be a success and no minor or major problem that will cause this such as defect materials or insufficient.

We are still not certain about the functionality and capabilities of the material but once the product arrived we will certainly get it to develop our system. I may be thinking in advance but as soon as everything is ready to roll we will be able to accomplish this project.

TECHNO101-Field Trip

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week is a ‘no class’ week because of the Kagay anon Festival and the Intramurals of the school. I for one thing is still sick and it’s been a week, I thought it will be a 2-3 days to cure this sickness but no it got worst. On holidays, I was and still resting and I didn’t go to the barangay Kinawe because of the unusual weather is having on that day. Sure it was a festive day and a lot of people at that time but we can’t expect the places to where the rain pour down and I was being cautious cause of my situation.

So we had our first field trip (the subject of Maam Telen) at CEPALCO (uptown) and we had our first tour and discussions there. They teach how to electric lines work and when they want to cut off any of the power lines in the area. I was currently ill at that time and the temperature very cold even though I have my jacket on its still cold and it’s because of the server area where they store all the data on that place and the connection through their other branch.

And thus my current condition is now worst, I got a cold now. 

On the next day, we had our second field trip at Globe Telecom (Cugman) and I know this will be my forte since this is our competitor in our Techno startup. So, introduction to that place, the history and how they manage to attract the whole country and dealing with other telecommunication services like Smart and Sun Cellular. It is a strong business but they have also the ‘ups and downs’ of their part. I like how they explain the routes of the signal, the cellular tower, the servers and also equipment and I respect that they gave us communication throughout every region, every cities and others. Oh! Did I mention that place is also cold, very, very cold… my head is spinning and full of diseases.

And thus I now got a cold, a cough and a headache. Ouch!

So for now, we are currently searching of the equipment that needed for this startup and for our thesis. I better get those assignment that is currently assigned to us, those pains, gains, and the jobs to be done and also the validation board. Therefore we must get what we want, what we need and thrive forward.

TECH101-Midterm Pitch

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week we manage to pitch our MVP about our thesis and answered all possible question that our instructor has given to us. It wasn’t easy because we can’t explain thoroughly about the product of our startup since we display our wireframe but we can sure that using a mobile app will guarantee it to work and since our instructor suggested some slight flaws of our mobile app we will still manage to upgrade or make it more sufficient for the handler to use.

We didn’t get much information because we are too focus on making the papers for the upcoming defense in our thesis. As our instructor told us that we will customize and develop it more further in which our mobile app that will notify who’s the sender and who’s the one receiving it. In regards on our presentation, we aren’t sure that we have pass or fail in the midterm but we learn more about how to create your own business. Hopefully this startup will be a success.

So, in order to make it an accomplishment in our studies we will study more about the place that we’re currently in to and help the people there. If we can act and bring about what’s good in project then good things will happen and have positive outlook towards it. My goodness this is tiring because of the places, distance and the budget of this but this if for the best, we can’t achieve more if we don’t perform.

In the seminar we didn’t get much info because we have our defense at that time. We also didn’t manage to get the certificate but ce la vie there’s always another I hope. At the end of this week, I manage to get into the makeup class and not much information is given because I was late and have a midterm exam on the other subject but still manages to get in for the sake of my team (cause I’m the only one member is around). That’s it for now.

TECHNO101-The Upcoming Pitch

Ok! Another week, another challenge

As for this week, my team and I are preparing for the upcoming pitch next week so we are trying to make a wireframe that will present and hopefully do well in the pitch. It’s not just wireframe that we are making but also surveys so that we can distribute and have more data on what we can give on the pitching.

Going back to barangay Kinawe, we verify that we are approved and validated on their community. Talking for like 1 and a half hour to the barangay captain, sir Gabito and his relatives discuss that not just Kinawe that have no signal, they indicate some places like on the far side of barangay Pongol they have confirm that there’s no signal there.

Now we are trying to get the information given to us and adjust the current situation right now in Kinawe like for example weather disruption, fading of signal and sometimes finding an area to where the signal is. They even mention that they need to climb trees to get signal or to have load. We disturb some people in the barangay hall and ask if we could do a survey here and get some data for them because we need it. And we have it for now but we need to get it more scalable.

Last but not least, we saw some small housing there and I think some of it are not finished with the work and I know same problem for them. Each of us contributed in interviewing in various places. We acquired data about the problem there and have been able to see and show that these Thesis of ours will have a solution that can help the community.

TECH101-The Upcoming MVP

Ok! Another week, another challenge

This week we didn’t get much information because of the upcoming exams on other subjects and we didn’t get much interview either. As far as I’d remember we are task to make a Chapter 1 of our Thesis and make a background to our studies in which our adviser told us. And to that we simply just put everything in to the papers and just go with it. But for my side of mistakes I didn’t know how it ended badly.

My team and I are not sure whether to make an app or a hardware prototype for the presentation of the MVP. We didn’t specify to add a website just to sponsor it nor share the information about how we can make it but I assure that this project will present in the upcoming presentation.

Days pass by, we decided to have an app and have it on our next BMC update but I feel like we need to learn how to make and make it fast because time is not on our side right now. So we need some consultation to other teachers and ask how they can give information about how LoRa works and how it needed precisely. I approach Sir Lupoy and ask if we could consult to him about our Thesis and he simply said yes but the time needed is limited because of the schedule but we can go to him if we are ready to consult.

So my plan for now is to act fast because we are racing against time and we need to make a prototype for the upcoming MVP presentation. It needs to have a broad explanation about this application and answers so that comments are not going to be brutal or worse than that but I can’t expect it to have a perfect outcome in this. I can’t afford to lose or give up, it’s time to go and make it a success.

TECHNO101-The Interview

Ok! Another week, another challenge.

This week we’ve encounter problems from community we set on and interviewed few of the local folks staying there and most of them problem have trouble communicating due to the lack of signal in their place so we need to unravel the problematic situation of their community.

Me and my thesis mate go to Gango, Libona to determine the distance and also interviewed some few folks. It was raining at that time and we only talk to some people like some in the local store and some who passes by. On Saturday, we’ve interviewed the Barangay’s Captain Sir Gabito (guy with a red shorts) and ask if we could have our thesis in the Kinawe’s community and ask for his approval and he said he support our thesis and help us. Also, he suggested to take on Pongol but it takes another 16km (as he said) to get there.

So, my team and I make our BMC by using our thesis proposal, so we make our first ever LoRaWAN project and decided to follow it because this is our last chance and our advisor agreed to help us and make it a success.

Now we need to make it flexible, easy to set up and accurate in establishing a two-way communication LoRa project in our thesis. And hope to be accepted in our Technopreneur startup. That’s All and Goodbye

TECH101-BMC

Ok! Another week, another challenge.

This week, we make our first BMC during the class and we were having difficulty to decide what to make and what to put on our BMC. We are having some time to discuss what to put in it because they want to change our first proposal with a backup and to that we didn’t communicate each other but in the end it doesn’t even matter.

On the day of presenting our BMC we finally decide what to use on the presentation. Both of my two members are gradually agreed to use the LechONLINE as our presentation in the BMC but first we talk to sir Bronson about the update proposal, the CheckMe (site), which is our first to present then we talk about the two proposal which is the PayMyBills (site) and LechONLINE.

As we present to sir about the BMC, he talk about what our thesis were and he wants us to know what the problem should be in our thesis proposal and after that we conclude that we will be using our thesis as the BMC for next week and must find a problem that can solve using our thesis. And soon as we depart from the room we agree to go to Gango, Libona to find the problem there and help the community but end it up interviewing the community in Kinawe, Libona.

So next week will be the BMC of our thesis proposal and must present it weekly, update what’s need to change and need to further research about it. We better get ready for what’s coming next. That’s all!!

TECHNO101

Ok! Another week another challenge

This week we kinda like hit rock bottom. I didn’t expect that but we totally admitted that we are lacking knowledge in image processing. My team and I want it to work but as I talk to some people, the people who knew or actually has experience image processing told me that it is very hard and very complicated state of work. And for that we would like to back it off.

As I was brainstorming, I interviewed my parents and their work so that I can have an idea which can help me find to my startup proposal but in the end, I helplessly have no idea what to come up with and I ended up pondering the situation.

We start to group up once more to find a problem or go back to our problem. On Tuesday morning, as Sir Bronson shown in the discussing, we decided if we would change our CheckMe App into a website. We didn’t talk to sir about this because we aren’t sure if we can take this but still we would like to try it and I don’t know if will succeed. I did manage make some contingency plans in our startup because next week is the last and it will present the BMC so I hope it will succeed. I think!

On Friday, we have our seminar in Technopreneurship called the Lecture Series Program and the speaker is a former USTPean. Sir Ronald Rhey Minoza talk about how we can manage our company by setting up the MISSION VISION in their company StreetBy which they deliver by using an app. They talk their problems; their mistake and students ask about how they manage to pull off through with that kind of situation. So, we students must know to how fail in order to succeed and you must start from the bottom to get to the top.

TECH101

Ok! Another week, another challenge.

This week, my team and I presented our app even though they know about because of our milestone presentation, we did some pitching towards our app and help them know what it can do to the community and to its user.

So, we had to search for a way to implement this app and by that, I mean we will work as a team to get this startup done. To do this, first we need to check if this app can work with the image processing because I am not that good with image processing but I can manage to make it simple. My team will back me up cause I’m a leader.

I had to interview my grade school teacher if they’re satisfied with our app because my grade school have old teacher which I probably know because I still recognize them and some of them are new which are young and active. For the old teacher I think it helps them to make an easy checking in the students’ paper but most old teacher is not suitable with the technology nowadays but I think it will help them, for the new ones it’s very fit for them to use this app.

One thing or another, we will use the Android Studio to make this app and with image processing I think we need to learn more of this. I think we need a lot of help to get this done because image processing is not easy to handle and for us we have only small ideas and knowledge about it so I guess we will get some help from the professional or watch Youtube tutorials to learn more. But I hope we will get this done and accomplish this startup project.

Ok! Another week, another challenge.

This week, my team and I presented a milestone in which her idea is use in our presentation. It was a total success and our instructor is entertained about it although it was nerve racking because I thought it was gonna flop but turns out I was wrong.

I was surprise when things turn out to be great because you never know what’s going to happen next and be vigilant on the next move. So there we are discussing about the app that we propose and the milestone that we obtain, we manage to drag out the important timeline about how we gonna do next week in our startup so we gathered and plan about it.

Ok I was never the type of person to talked to strangers unless it’s an emergency but an interview is important and needed to make the user thought about the our startup and share his/her idea to the community so I ask someone, a certain stranger and my old teacher in elementary to share his/her thoughts about it.

Now my teammates and I gathered the info about what happen in our cases and how can we solved the problems that is being implemented in our startup. The “Check me” app will help and save time for the teachers, professors, instructors etc... And of course we better be ready for what’s coming next. +Plus Ultra

TECH101-IDEATION PHASE

A week of IDEATION with my team made me realize I need to step up my game because I couldn’t think of any kind of startup, I manage to make an idea about what I could do to help with the society and to the business community that are involve in it. It’s not good nor great but it’s worth giving a shot about my idea.

Ok now I think about it, have you ever tried delivering your food in your place without moving? Yeah? Well it’s obvious from a fast food restaurant like Jollibee, McDonald, and KFC etc. you can deliver it through text or call or online you can do it but sometimes you don’t need that kind of food when you have low cash or nearly broke. So let me tell you about my idea it’s about an app that delivers... Wait for it… a BREAD! Yeah crazy right? But when I think about my startup, there’s already an app but it’s not in our country. This app will help all those bread lovers near your places and you can make them go into your places without breaking a sweat. And this just my first idea and I called it Bread Runner.

My second idea is about an air quality monitoring app which helps detect any kind of air inside your office, workplace, your house or maybe your own personal room. I haven’t thought it through because this is my thesis and it need a gas or infrared sensor so yeah I haven’t thought it through yet. My third is not really optional because my friend suggested to make an app that collects garbage and it called GarbageGO. I think it’s really good because when you are in a community garbage are thrown everywhere with or without a proper disposal but if you manage to make a designated garbage zone then this app is what you need. GarbageGO helps you have a proper waste disposal and segregation this app can call a garbage truck and go to it designated garbage zone but of course you need to make schedule so that it will help to notify them in your needs.

That was a blast brainstorming with that kind of idea with my team it was fun and mostly thought-provoking having those idea. We have a unique and very interesting ideas each of us have different fields yet have similar goal. The discussion, the questions, the solution and the time given we cooperate and helping each other so that this idea will come with possibilities. And thus this is the end for this week.
