Here’s the thing: I am one of the most anti-Assad people I know. I have consistently & staunchly called for the ousting and punishment of that inhumane monster, cold-blooded murderer, and war criminal since 2011.
BUT the airstrikes today aren’t about the past 7 years of crimes against humanity. Where was retaliation for the genocide in Aleppo? Dair Ezzour? Baba Amr? Dare I go on? The airstrikes today are Donny’s attempts to prove that he has a big dick and is “against Russia”. The strikes today are about playing a political chess game in which the US, UK, and France have nothing to lose. The West has never had a problem using our lives as bargaining chips. They’ve never had to face consequences for slaughtering us. Because Western leaders AND their people have never seen us as humans with lives to lose.
Where was American retaliation 7 years ago? Where was America when we begged for intervention and support against our dictator? Where was American democracy when Russia vetoed every UN resolution against Assad and its own actions in Syria? Where was America when it was funding opposing groups in this civil war? Where was America when the blood of innocents ran like rivers in the rubble and women were raped to paralyzation? Now that the war has been lost and and everything is at its end-now when Western interests are best served, intervention becomes a must?
