The ending in "obsession" is the most horrifying part to me because much like real life, the man gets off scott free and the woman is left to deal with all the mess
so i just saw obsession
if i think too hard about nikkiās experience in Obsession i feel physically ill. imagine one second youāre just walking up to your house after a night out, and then the next, youāre looking out of your own body, but youāre not longer in control. youāre a prisoner to a terrible, unnatural version of yourself that only exists because of a choice someone else made. when you scream, nobody listens. when you claw your way out for long enough to explain that this isnāt you, nobody listens. when you beg the man who trapped you in this situation to put and end to it, to set your free, he just. doesnāt. listen. and then when you do finally regain control, all your friends are dead, and you are covered in their blood. because of a choice someone else made
nikki breaks my heart so bad because in the brief moments we see her before the wish kicks in, she's so cool and funny, clearly kindhearted, very driven about her future (telling bear about how she was going to quit her job to focus on her writing), and also very sure of herself as a person. ive seen people describe this movie as "mean-spirited" and I think thats so apt because it was a 2 hour long tragedy of the torture of this innocent girl, taking away everything she's ever had, including her own sense of self, putting her through unimaginable horrors, and leaving her with nothing except the three dead bodies of her friends, with the one who she trusted most being the one who did this to her. nothing for her to look for hope in, because she has nothing before her except a lifetime in prison or in an institution. it would be one thing if the movie ended on a note like weapons, where everything was over and there would hopefully be recovery somewhere down the line, but here, not only was the evil not committed by a random stranger but her closest friend, but she doesn't get any chance at recovery either. so goddamn tragic. on that note, if anyone can come up with some sort of fix-it for nikki please link it to me because I will be crying about this girl forever.
i dislike the whole āhorror is so backā narrative people are throwing around recently with obsession and backrooms. both are great movies, but horror was also so back with the long walk. and sinners. and the substance. and nosferatu. and literally anything directed by jordan peele. horror as a genre will always have its flops. but there will always be those few that revive the hype.
mind you isa is on broadway. she can sing š i love when professional singers act like they dunno what theyāre doing
the pitt ooc spoilers
Absolutely fucking rich that Robby thinks Al-Hashimi canāt handle running the ED because she paused twice when working with kids. My brother in Christ you are on the killing myself world tour right now letās self reflect maybe
fuck theyāre making me feel bad for ogilvie

oh my god supriya ganesh isnāt coming back for season 3
personally i think dana and emma should take a break outside together. let dana have herself a smoke and emma a crisp diet coke. itās what they deserve
btw thereās a big difference in tone and wording in the way al-hashimi and robby told mohan sheād be good in geriatrics.
al-hashimi was being straightforward and professional. she didnāt have any sort of bite behind her words. she was simply saw something special in mohan and wanted to voice her opinion. as a mentor and superior, thatās what you should do.
but robby? his words had fire behind it. he spent the entirety of season 1 calling her slow. heās been nothing but condescending to her the entirety of season 2. and, instead of giving honest and genuine direction, robby told her that she seems to have a disposition to āthat paceā. reaffirming that he still believes sheās slow at her work.
so, regardless of if robby thought or was trying to be nice, it certainly did not come off that way. and you can see it in the way mohan reacts.
i get it. irl it is very rare that a cop isnāt a republican. the good news is that the pitt is a show. and that abbot absolutely lied about how far along that teenager was in season 1. no republican is going out of their way to make sure a young girl can get the abortion sheās wants and needs.
The Pitt S01E10 / S02E11
santos saying that langdon could relapse and then picking up a scalpel and putting it in her pocket...the whole "santos and langdon lash out at each other because they see themselves reflected in the other" thing is not even subtext
